Chapter 41

The smell of wolfsbane, burning flesh, and blood filled the air. My body was disorientated and still groggy from whatever my mother gave to us. My eyelids were heavy as I peeked around the room, adjusting to the lighting. We were some type of shipment container with one way in and out. Two guards stood at the end of the container setting up a variety of weapons. Libby is sitting adjacent to me; her hands are bound by metal cuffs and her feet are submerged in a bucket of wolfsbane. There is a gash on the side of her face and blood oozing out.

"I know you are not asleep, trader." A burly guard struck me.

I adjusted my body in the chair. My jaw began thumping from the force of his punch. The taste of metallic flooded my mouth; spitting blood on the ground. I jerked around in the chair trying to attack him causing the silver cuff to melt into my skin. He went aimlessly back to the counter and wrapped up chatting with the other guard.
