I stood up the stairs and looked down as my uncle welcomed guests. The packhouse was nicely decorated and soft music played in the background. My pack members were nicely dressed in evening gowns and suits. They had genuine smiles on their faces, and nothing could please me more.

But all that did not take away the anxiety I felt, I was about to meet all the alphas for the first time. I was not groomed like all the other alphas to take over, my father was not exactly a role model and he thought he was going to live longer, so he saw no reason to teach me how to be an alpha or introduce me to the others.

How was he going to do that anyway when he did not get along with any of them? The only time John William was in the same space as another alpha was when he was attacking them. Now, how was I going to be introduced to them besides my father did not see me as his son but as something, he could play with whenever he felt like it.
