WINTER'S POV

"Why?" I mumbled, still struggling under his grip. "Why do you do this to me all the time? You're always mad at me for no reason, and the next minute you act cool. The last time I checked, I hadn't done anything wrong to you. I came here for answers, and you've been mean to me ever since."

Rafael tightened his grip on my throat, cutting off my air supply. I groaned, desperately clutching his hand and gazing at him with wide eyes. "What will you gain if I die now?"

"A sense of peace!" he growled. "I won't have to see your face, and maybe you won't haunt my dreams anymore!"

"It's not my fault I came here looking for you and found you looking like my dead mate..." I gasped for breath as he released his hold on me.

Clutching my throat tightly, tears welled up in my eyes before I straightened myself. "No matter what you do or say to me, I believe you're Slade. Something must have happened to you when you died, and..."

I felt sad on the seesaw-like exchange between Rafael and winter. it's frustrating me. why can't she just leave so that if they get together again it's more plausible as there will be no violence. unlike this, she's hurt too much that it's not acceptable for me for her to end up with him still
