The drive over was painstakingly quiet and tense, Harrison had got the minibus ready for us and as many warriors as possible had been crammed into it. The fact I owned half the cops in the town meant we stood no chance of being pulled over, although some were giving the mini van a second glance as we bombed down the street to Leo's penthouse. Which I got. Not everyday you see a van filled with dozens of large males, all with sour faces and grim eyes.

The rumble of the minivan's engine filled the tense silence, a backdrop to the mounting pressure weighing down on me. I glanced at the rearview mirror, catching the furtive glances and whispered conversations of my pack. Their frustration was palpable, an almost tangible force pressing against my chest.
