Chapter 22

Clara was stunned at how Elizabeth came to her rescue.

She was initially shy about what to say. Everyone was gone aside from Elizabeth and Selene and the two friends.

Was she going to thank Elizabeth for saving her first? Or was she going to acknowledge the young man's apology?

In between her thoughts, the man spoke up again.

“Hey, I know you are thinking, but believe me, I wasn't that serious,” he said. Clara looked at him and rolled her eyes.

His friend, who was the person she bumped into initially, grinned and nodded for her to accept him.

“It’s alright.” Clara rolled her eyes again. She then looked at Elizabeth and Selene.

It was the best thing they had done for her in a while, Elizabeth acknowledging she was her daughter in public, she wasn't used to calling her mum but maybe she should just do it.

“Thank you, Mum, Selene, thanks.” she winked at Selene.
