CHAPTER 31:

REAH'S POV 

A while later, I left the room and returned to Beta who was standing by the car. When he saw me, he opened the car door and waited for me. 

I got there and entered, not saying a word to him as I had many things on my mind. I closed my eyes the moment we got to the car, trying to stop myself from calling Alpha Xavier as I was certain he must still be very angry with me at the moment. 

"We are home," Beta's deep voice sent away my distracting thoughts and I found him beside the car with the door opened. 

I stepped out of the car "Thanks," I finally said before I entered the castle. 

Entering, I saw Luna Bella sitting on the couch and watching TV. The moment I entered, she turned her head to look at me and her face brightened. She smiled excitedly and stood up, rushing toward me. 

"You are back!" She hugged me. "Are you hungry?" She asked and I chuckled. I could already perceive the heavenly scent of food around the house and I knew she must have prepared some delicacies to welcome me back home. 

I touched my belly and nodded my head "I'm indeed hungry, Mum," I replied and she giggled. 

She took my hand and led me toward the dinner. The table was filled with different delicacies as expected and she helped me sit. "These are all the meals I prepared myself. It's been a while since I last cooked so I must have lost my touch a bit but I hope you will still enjoy it," She said and my eyes widened. 

I looked at the delicacies and I found it hard to believe my ears "You prepared all these?" I was in disbelief. 

She smiled and nodded "I prepared them myself," She replied. 

My mouth parted slightly, why was she so good to me?

Knowing that she wasn't even feeling fine and she still took her time to prepare so much for me made me very emotional and I found myself hugging her again. A single tear rolled down my eyes which I quickly wiped before she could see it. 

I picked up the spoon and made to eat my fill. It had been so long since my mother cooked for me. I was still quite young when my mother became sick and unable to do much for me anymore so it had always been Joyce and her brother who cooked and helped me but it was different from mother's cooking. 

"These are delicious," I couldn't help but say after putting tasting the meals. They were very delicious and once again, it made me feel nostalgic as they tasted the same way my mother's meals used to taste. 

I ate the food hungrily, not wanting to drop the spoon until my stomach could no longer take it. I relaxed back in my seat and patted my belly gently. 

Immediately, Beta walked forward and dropped the nutrients in front of me. "These are the ones you ought to take in the morning after meals," He said. 

I looked at his face and frowned. Why did he have to be so meticulous? Wasn't he supposed to forget like I did?

Not having a choice, I took them all and he packed them again. "Thanks, Mum. I enjoyed the meals," I said. 

Luna Bella smiled excitedly "I'm glad you do. What do you plan to do today?" 

"Nothing. Alpha Xavier is already in office and I don't think he would want me to resume today," I replied. 

She nodded, agreeing with me. "How about we go out for shopping today? There's so much I need to get for the travelling and we need to get you some clothes too," She said and my eyes widened. 

"You don't need to do that, Mum. Alpha Xavier already got me a lot of clothes," The closet was almost filled with different expensive clothes. 

Luna Bella shook her head "That? He got them, it's my time to some for you too and it's not that he knows fashion either. You should let me get you some nice things, okay?" She said cheerfully and stood up. 

Seeing her so happy, I couldn't bring myself to turn her down anymore so I just nodded and stood up too. "I should take my bath then. I will soon be back," I told her and left the dining. 

An hour later, we parked our car in front of a clothing store and entered. The workers there were excited to see Lady Bella and they all greeted her excitedly. They took us to the top floor and showed us around. To my surprise, Luna Bella wasn't there to get herself any clothes. 

She kept pushing clothes on me, asking me to put them on. She would check it again, give me another and ask me to put them on. "Everything looks good on her," She finally said after the 15th change. 

She looked at the workers there and a sly smile formed on her pretty face, "Pack all the clothes on the roll, this roll and that roll. Send them to the Castle within two hours," The moment she said that, she carried her bag and rushed out of the room. 

She already knew I would object so she escaped before I had the chance to. I stood dazed for a few minutes, looking at the numerous clothes she asked the workers to deliver, and then I remembered the numerous clothes Alpha Xavier already got for me too. Each of the clothes was expensive enough to pay my entire university f*e and they made me f*el like it was too much to accept.

"Luna Bella is so generous!" One of the workers said excitedly. 

It was a good day for them as they would receive a lot of commission at the end of today. 

"But who is she? Luna Bella treats her like a daughter. She was smiling so excitedly, I've never seen her so happy since old Alpha died," 

"I'm wondering too. Could she be Alpha Xavier's fiancee?"

"I don't think so. She's so pretty that her beauty seems unreal but she is human. Do you think an Alpha that's as powerful as Alpha Xavier would want to marry a human? How can he preserve his strong bloodline then?"

"What are you saying? In front of unparalleled beauty, do you think there's anything like logic? She's so pretty that any man would want her to be their woman. She might really be his woman, though,"

I suddenly heard words around me, I turned around to look at the workers who were whispering to each other. The way they were speaking, they must have thought I wouldn't hear them and that was how it was supposed to be but somehow, I heard everything. Their voices were very low but I still heard them. 

Thinking about it, I had been able to feel the aura around people since I could remember. Could it be that...

I quickly shook my head, picked up my bag and rushed out of the room too. 

I walked toward the shoe store where I knew Luna Bella would be and as expected, she was sitting there. I entered and saw several shoes around her. "Come quickly, come test these shoes on," She said excitedly when she saw me and I frowned. 

The shoes in front of her would be up to 20 if not more and she wanted me to test them all.

I let out a deep breath, her bright eyes and happy expression were like a bond with me, there was no way I could resist them. I walked over to her and started putting on the shoes. 

After a while, she stood up, she walked toward the door before she turned around to look at the workers "Get all those shoes delivered to the Castle within two hours," After that, she left the room again. 

I cowered my mouth and resigned deeply. I stood up and looked at the workers who were very excited "Let's get going again," I told myself and left the room. 

Surprisingly, I wasn't tired at all. Getting so many gifts refilled me with immense vigour and enthusiasm but my heart wouldn't stop aching for the amount that was being spent. 

Being a pauper who had to work extra to get food on the table and also take care of my sick mother, seeing the money that was being spent carelessly made my heart ache and I felt a bit burdened too. 

I left the room and saw Luna Bella entering another store again. I rushed after her and again, it was a bag store!

She started picking bags and when she saw that I was inside, she smiled "This is the last one and we will visit that Cafe outside. Don't worry, the bags wouldn't be that much," She assured but I already knew it was a big fat lie.
