CHAPTER 47: FIRED

REAH'S POV 

After an hour or so, Alpha Xavier stood up and walked toward the bathroom. He spent a few minutes in the bathroom before he stepped out with his towel on his waist and his eyes fell on me. "Get up and sleep on the floor," He ordered. 

My brows furrowed, and my mouth parted to ask him questions but in the end, I could only swallow and stand up as he said. 

I entered the bathroom and had a nice bath before I returned to the room in my bathrobe. I placed some blankets on the ground, slept and covered myself with another. 

Alpha Xavier was already in bed by the time I came out of the bathroom and he seemed to be sleeping already, too. I turned around and rested my head on my hand, wanting to look at his side profile that faced me. 

A long nose and a perfect side profile with a very clean skin that would make a woman jealous. I let out a deep breath and closed my eyes gently. Right then, I realized my feelings for Alpha Xavier were slowly fading away. 

Maybe he had indeed done too much. 

The only thing I felt toward him at the moment was gratitude for taking care of my mother, fear for my life and a bit of affection that still lingered because he was my first love. 

With my eyes closed, it was easier to sleep. I woke up the next morning and as expected, he was done preparing again and was fixing his wristwatch. I stood up and packed the blankets "Good Morning," I greeted. 

"You don't need to come to the office anymore. Stay at home, cook, clean and make sure the Castle is tidy," He muttered and my body froze. 

"What about my job?" My voice trembled as I asked. 

"Fired," He replied and my eyes widened. "For your information, You are being watched even when I'm not around. If one day, I heard that you went out or invited anyone over, consider yourself dead that day... Maybe your mother would be the one taking the punishment for you," He threatened.

My heart sank and the blanket fell. I felt energy drained from my body and my eyes brought out water. "Are you imprisoning me?" I couldn't help but ask. 

Alpha Xavier turned around to look at me "If you think so," He replied and picked up his bag. "Don't dare me, Reah. Remember you have so much to lose," He added as he walked closer to the door and stopped. "What are their names again? Joyce and Gabriel?" His lips curved into a dirty smile as he opened the door and walked out of the room with his eyes still fixed on me. 

I watched him close the door before I slumped on the blanket, feeling as if I had finally lost everything. He wasn't only picking on me, he was going to imprison me too? Was my crime that much? I had no idea Gabriel was going to kiss me!

"I hate you, Gabriel!" I screamed and hit the blanket hatefully. 

I knew this was wrong, Gabriel had done nothing wrong and so was I but Alpha Xavier already misunderstood us and there was nothing I could do about that. 

Alpha Xavier's attitude toward me was still manageable before he saw us yesterday night and the loss of my job was because of that incident too. If my hatred wasn't toward Gabriel then who else could I hate?

I scrambled toward the table to find my phone but it was nowhere to be found and I frowned. Where was my phone?

I searched for a while and it was still the same. Soon, A bad premonition made my throat dry and I immediately rushed out of the room. "Xavier!" I called the Alpha who was about to enter his car and he stopped. 

"My phone, please?" I knew without a doubt that he must have taken it but why?

He turned around to look at me and his cold gaze swept over me "You don't need it," He simply said before he entered his car and drove off. 

I watched him leave and my lips curved into a loud shriek "Damn you, Xavier!!!" I screamed so loud that my throat hurt. 

"Do you think I won't retaliate? Do you think I won't curse you out? Damn you!!" I sat on the ground as I screamed more and more. 

After a while, I suddenly felt a little relieved and hungry at the same time. I returned to the room where I had a long bath and dressed up casually. 

I laid in bed for a while, secretly hoping Alpha Xavier would change his mind soon and take me back to the office. Being at home made me feel lonely and sick. I hated the feeling. 

I rolled around in bed for a while before I decided to get something to eat. I walked over to the kitchen and prepared some dishes for myself, that was one good thing about being home alone. 

Speaking of home alone, where were the maids that were asked to stay back?

I hadn't seen them for a while already but the bath was always prepared. Maybe it was Alpha Xavier's idea to make sure I wouldn't be able to send them on errands. 

After eating, I cleaned the room and washed some clothes. Done, I returned to the room to sleep again until I heard a knock on the door. 

I opened my eyes and yawned, I wasn't feeling sleepy but I was very exhausted "Who is there?" I asked, staring at the door while also wiping my face. 

"It's me, Luna," There was a masculine voice from the door. 

I stood up and walked toward the door, opening it, I saw a man standing with an envelope in hand "This was sent from Luna's association. There's a tea meeting next Friday and as the Luna of DARK GRYPHON'S Pack, You are invited to take on the leadership mantle," He explained and handed over the envelope, bowing deeply.
