CHAPTER 7

REAH'S POV 

"Lady Bella," The man replied. 

Lady Bella? Could it be? 

I quickly shook my head and smiled bitterly. How could she be the one? 

I raised my head and looked at the man. "Are you telling the truth?" I was no longer so scared but I still needed to be cautious. What if he was just deceiving me?

The man looked at me and smiled. "I don't tell lies. Don't worry." He replied as he continued driving. 

Seeing his face, my heart suddenly calmed down and I breathed in relief. His face seemed sincere and his smile reassured me. I suddenly felt like he wouldn't deceive me and that relieved me. The man wasn't young, he seemed to be a middle-aged man... Maybe that was the reason I felt reassured when I saw him.

The drive went on for a while and we entered a compound. The car stopped and the man stepped out. He opened the door for me, helping me alight from the car which should have carried me to my death. He led me into the magnificent mansion, which I couldn't peel my eyes from throughout the walk to the entrance. 

"Wait here. I will call the Lady." The man said as he pointed to a couch. "Sit there," He said. 

I nodded my head and walked over to the couch. After everything that happened to me today, the first thing I needed was a sound sleep and some more rest. Maybe seeing Joyce would make me feel a lot better but I needed to appreciate the person who helped me first. 

Damn! The house is beautiful!

"What are you doing here?" An icy cold voice rang behind me and my body froze. 

My eyes widened and for a moment, I found it difficult to breathe. "I asked you what you are doing in my house?!" The familiar voice came again and this time, it was harsher and colder!

I slowly turned my head, I already knew who it was but I still needed to confirm with my eyes and surely, he was the one! "Alpha Xavier?" I called with a hint of disdain in my eyes. 

He looked at me and his frown deepened "I heard you got pregnant. Is the baby mine?" His eyes settled on my belly, his expression not hiding his hatred for me. "Don't tell me you are here because of the pregnancy. Are you that gullible?" 

"Xavier!" A loud angry voice attracted my attention and I quickly turned my head to the direction of the voice. My eyes widened when I saw the lady...

It was a beautiful lady who seemed to be in her early forties. Her pale skin shone under the dim light, making me look like an angel. Without a doubt, someone would have known she was Alpha Xavier's mother as they looked very well alike. Many say Xavier gained his good looks from his mother and his cold attitude from his father!

Lady Bella!

"Have you lost your mind?! Why do you have to treat my guest that way?!" Annoyance could be felt in her tone as she glared at Alpha Xavier. Her fierce gaze stayed on him for a while before he turned to look at me "My darling baby, Come to me." She said softly. 

A small smile formed on my face as I stood up and walked toward her. For some reason, the mere sight of her made my heart relaxed and the motherly feeling I hadn't felt in a long time returned. "Ma," I mumbled as I bowed in front of her. She was the mother of the most powerful Alpha in my country!

Lady Bella held me and smiled. "Don't be so polite, baby." She rubbed my hands gently. "I was on my way to see you when I saw some men drag you into their car. I had no choice but to send my men after the car to rescue you. I hope you're fine?" Lady Bella asked. Her voice was soothing~

Xavier walked forward and stood beside us. "Why did you go to her?" He asked coldly. 

Lady Bella looked at him and rolled her eyes. "To propose marriage to her, of course!" She replied firmly!

XAVIER'S POV 

I felt like my mother had lost her mind. Why would she suddenly want to propose marriage to her and how did she know about her?

"You don't mean it, right?" I asked, my eyes falling on my mother. 

She scoffed, "Do I look like I am joking? This sweet girl is carrying my grandchild. What else do you need to marry her?!" Her voice was loud and fierce but it only angered me more. 

"So? Does her pregnancy make her my responsibility? She is pregnant, so what? I only need to take responsibility for the child, not her!" I explained, my voice firm and determined. 

Why would I want to marry someone like her? A lady that drugged me??!

Just when I was speaking to my mother, my eyes fell on the cause of my problem and somehow, I caught sight of something on her neck. I swiftly moved closer to her and grabbed her hand, pulling her to face me and I moved her hair slightly... A mark?

Was she the reason I had been feeling that way for the past two weeks?

My mother removed her hand from mine and glared at me "You don't have a choice, Xavier. This girl is going to be the Luna of your Pack and that's all!'

"Well... You really can't force me, Can you?" I sneered. Turning around to leave. 

"Xavier!" My mum called. "Are you really going to do this?" Her voice was low. The fierceness in her tone is no longer evident. "Remember what your father said before he died. Are you really going to do this?"

My legs stopped and my expression darkened. I turned around to look at her and my eyes glowed. "Fine!" I muttered. "Let someone bring her to the Civil Affairs Bureau for a marriage certificate!"
