CHAPTER 8: EXPOSED

XAVIER'S POV 

Getting to the Civil Affairs Bureau, One of the workers invited me to his office and left to give me some privacy. I was excited as I would have hated to sit in my car and let someone see me... It would lead to a huge scandal~

An hour later, The door to the small office opened and Mathew walked in.

"The lady is outside, Alpha Xavier," My Beta said to me and I nodded, not saying a word as I continued typing a message on my phone. 

"I'm sorry, My Lord. But, why do you have to marry her? I can't help but feel like you are giving her exactly what she wanted. She and her colleagues must have drugged you and other Alphas because they wanted you to be responsible for them and you are doing exactly that..." Mathew expressed, obviously worried and angry. 

I let out a deep breath as I finally dropped my phone and stood up. "I marked her. I hate to admit this too but there is nothing else I can do. She is my mate and... That's all that matters." I replied before walking out of the room. Also, My Father's last word...

"You've grown up, Xav." My wolf commented, seemingly having fun at my expense. 

"Isn't this what you want? I should marry her, right? I'm going to do just that but that will be all." I replied and rolled my eyes. 

He was quiet for a while but he soon chuckled. "Let's see how it goes then." 

I rolled my eyes and without saying a word, I made my way to where the Waiter was waiting for me. 

She was the first to see me and she quickly walked over to me. "What's the meaning of this? You sent me away with some money that morning saying you would punish me but you want me to marry me now?" She looked angry and irritated but I was even more annoyed. 

I moved closer to her and looked at her face "Why are you pretending, huh?" I caught her chin and raised her head so she would see my face too. "Isn't this what you want? After we collect the marriage certificate here, you will become My Luna and Mrs. Xavier, tell me, wasn't that your plan from the beginning?" I questioned, my eyes flashing with anger. 

If only I hadn't met her, if only she hadn't drugged me, If only she stayed away from me, My Wolf might never recognize her and I would never have to marry her this way. She wouldn't have gotten pregnant and my mother wouldn't have reminded me of my father's last words!

I would be able to wait for Mina~ What would she feel when she finally found me one day only to realize that I was already married?

The anger was welling up in me and the fact that she was pretending only increased that... "Don't try to act decent in front of me and come with me right now," I said as I released her chin abruptly and took her hand. 

"Wait!" She shouted and I turned to face her. 

"What?" 

"You said that was my plan?" Her lips were trembling and her eyes were red. "The only mistake I made was that I let you have your way with me that night when I was supposed to run away. The only mistake I made was seeing you as a good person and respecting you for the..." I grabbed her neck and bent down to let her see my glowing eyes. 

"Don't test my patience, Girl. Each second I spend here feels like years to me and I hate this feeling. Come with me now or disappear forever!" I gritted my teeth with anger as I warned her. "But I want you to know that no one will ever marry you with that mark on your neck... You ruined yourself the moment you set me up!" I released her neck, dusted my hands and walked away. 

I expected her not to follow me but to my dismay, she did. She followed me into the office, signed, took the picture and received the Marriage certificate. 'Is she that desperate?' I wondered as I shook my head in disgust. 

After everything, we relaxed in my car and I turned to face her. "Now that we have the Marriage Certificate, We are supposed to be Husband and wife but we aren't," I told her the moment Mathew left the car. 

She turned to face me and a deep frown settled on her delicate face. "What do you mean? We are married but we ain't husband and wife?" She asked and I nodded my head coldly. 

"Yes, You are my Luna and Mrs. Xavier in name only. Nothing will ever change that and after a year, I should have found my woman by then so we will divorce. If you are not okay with that, we can divorce right now too, I don't care." I explained, causing her to shake her head in disbelief. 

She stared at me for a while without saying a single word and she looked away. "Whatever." She replied and I smirked. 

"Also, you are living in my house from now on." 

She turned to face me with darkened eyes and groaned. "Why? Why should that happen?" Her voice was low and she seemed bitter. 

I shrugged and looked away "You are my wife now and you can't be living apart from me. I will have to Introduce you to everyone as my mate and Luna, so we have to make it real as much as possible." I explained nicely before picking up my phone. 

I didn't bother looking at her again as I dialled Mathew's number. "Come in. We should leave now." I ordered and ended the call. 

Mathew entered, started the car and we drove home. A few minutes later, we were home... about to meet my mother again~

I was still thinking about my mother when I received a text message on my phone and...

My body shook involuntarily and my face darkened. "Reah!" I yelled angrily, all rationality flying out the window.
