HIBARA IT’S BEEN A while since I walked through the large golden gates of Colegio de Santo Domingo. As soon as I stepped foot on the premises alongside my former clubmate, Devin Purge, and their Young Master Samael Salcedo, cameras began to click. At this rate, we surely will be the next headline on their school paper. Hopefully, the event won’t reach the national newspaper. Toto and Cara who were walking behind us may have probably been overwhelmed by all the eyes fixed on us, so, I turned my head back. Surprisingly, I found our newest member acting like she’s an artist on the red carpet, smiling and waving to her fans and the paparazzi. The Science geek, on the other hand, covered his face with his Earth & Life Science book. They are the two sides of one coin. “President Hibara!” The combined voices of two girls echoed through the northeast side of the crowd. I immediately spotted them as I saw them jumping up and down while waving their arms. I pointed them to Devin and he nodd
HIBARAA SERIAL KILLER with mental problems, probably psychopathy and obsession, is the main character of this exhibit. We spent our day walking around the premises of Colegio de Santo Domingo until the police officers left. They are just the unwanted actors present in a stage play. The show would be better off without them.“You’re doing it again, President Hibara!” Angelica whined as the seven of us sat down in our club’s usual spot in the cafeteria.“Deliberately not tellin’ us about the plan so that our actions and reactions would be one ‘undred percent genuine, ya,” Cassandra seconded.“I missed your presence here but I certainly don’t miss that,” added Devin. “Is she doing that to you?” He asked my new team members. The Major shared, “She once told me of a plan while we were on a helicopter. But, when we landed on the container ship, that plan was thrown out to the sea. We didn’t do anything and everything that was on the plan she said!”Well, I admit, that plan really failed. B
LUKE MATTHEW I’VE NEVER SEEN the Nerd holding such a look. It’s as if he was sending poisoned darts toward the innocent young model of a clothing brand—all because Cara was blushing at his presence. Suddenly, eating the pizza in my hand was full of tension. The air around the three was obviously affecting us, except for the Detective who seemed to be enjoying the drama. “Ah, h-hello?” The young lady named Angelica raised her hand slightly. “D-Don’t you guys feel t-the tension? I-It’s uncomfortable…” But then, Hibara chimed with a smile, “Cara!” “Y-Yes!?” Cara jolted. “I’d like you to meet Jan Clark Rios, the leader of my Student Network here in CSD.” Then, she looked at the young lad. “Jan, this is Lt. Col. Cara Mendez, the leader of my Student Network in AMU.” “Lieutenant Colonel?” Jan’s face showed amazement. “You’re a CAT Officer? That’s cool!” “T-Thank you! You’re quite well-known, so that’s cool too!” Cara shyly smiled; her ears still red. Toto clenched his fists under t
LUKE MATTHEW A FLOOD OF hot water was flowing out of the bath with a broken-down door. Two young ladies and male inn personnel were outside. A young lady around sixteen to eighteen with waist-long black hair had her left arm soaked in the tub. “WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU THREE DOING?” The Detective’s voice echoed from the bath through the hallway. “CALL THE AMBULANCE! NOW!” She pulled out the young lady’s arm and found several cuts on her wrist. “She just passed out. Though we barely made it,” Hibara began to explain the situation while tying her white handkerchief tightly around the young lady’s wrist. “She must’ve figured that she’s tomorrow’s victim that she tried to kill herself before the culprit does by making cuts and soaking them in hot flowing water so there wouldn’t be immediate clotting.” “Homeostasis,” Toto inferred as he fixed his eyeglasses. “Within minutes or even seconds from when the skin is cut or scraped, blood cells start to clump together and clot, protecting the w
HIBARA THE KIDNAPPING CASE of the long-haired girls was closed about an hour later after we found Pedro Quintos hiding in an abandoned warehouse. With him are the five victims and Cara, who have their wrists and ankles tied with the same masking tape that Agatha used to seal the bathroom. The Major and I nabbed the culprit and tied him up with masking tape. The rest went to free the kidnapped women. Of course, it didn’t escape my observant eyes that both Toto and Jan rushed to Cara. From the moment I heard that guy’s name, I knew the culprit was him. The only thing I didn’t have at that moment was the evidence to prove it. And so, I deliberately did not remind them of the lookout plan to set the culprit up. If there is a witness and we can all prove that the witness is telling the truth, then, there’s no doubt that the police would take her statement as solid. Sorry not sorry, but Cara was the perfect girl for the job. Of course, with the one-year experience of Devin, Cassandra, An
HIBARA THAT INSIGNIA OF a ghost winking and with a laughing smile holding out a high-five was something I’d seen in my dearest father’s case files before. It seems that this internationally famous thief, Ghost Hand, was someone that the Greatest Consulting Detective of the Century can’t even capture. Of course, Mom has no access to the police files of the Theft-Robbery-Burglary Division since she’s in the CID. “Why are there a lot of kids here?” A voice that could make me roll my eyes sounded from behind. “Then, why did you bring minors too, Mr. Adult Detective Wannabe?” I sarcastically replied, turning to face him. Since the class dismissal of the SHS students is two hours before ours, the three members of The Forensic Club are also in their casual clothes like the CSD Detective Club. “I see!” Devin happily exclaimed. “That’s why there are only two notices sent.” He pulled out the other index card from Jacob Valle’s pocket. “Ghost Hand still thinks you’re our Club President, Hiba
LUKE MATTHEW THE SCHOOL PAPER’S headline was totally fraudulent. We barged into the Ammunition Journalists Clubroom led by the Detective. Expectedly, not surprisingly, The Forensic Club was already there and their Club President's complaint could be heard from the other side of the door. "Why was it written like that??" "Oh! You guys are here, too," Cara noted upon entering. "Well, yes, because I am not accepting this trash headline!" Jacob angrily replied. "This headline is clearly fake news." The Forensic Club's VP presented the school paper to our faces. The Secretary, who I'd never seen without poise, had her voice raised above the earth's atmosphere. "I CAN NARRATE EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY FROM US RECEIVING THE NOTICE TO MEETING THE TWO OTHER GROUPS AT NIGHT!" "P-Please calm down, Miss—" The poor Assistant EIC, Francis Peralta, raised his hands as a gesture when Zia cut him off without thinking twice. "SHUT THE HELL UP! I AM NOT GONNA CALM DOWN, OKAY? BECAUSE I
LUKE MATTHEW “What happened to Sylvester and Shiloah?” THE ECHOING SOUND of the bottle of loo cleaner colliding with the tiled floor filled the silence that followed the Detective’s question. “W-What did you say?” Cara stuttered. “The cousins!?” Toto rushed to us with his bubbled gloved hands. “What happened to the cousins?” “They have been kidnapped!” the lady cried out. The lad held one of her shoulders while his other hand ran up and down her back to calm her down. “You are Shiloah’s father,” the Detective remarked, staring at the lad. Then, she shifted her gaze to the lady. “And she is Sylvester’s mother.” She brought her gaze back to the lad. “You two are siblings.” “How did you know?” I asked. She turned to me wearing her usual bored expression. “Their physical appearances have similarities and their arrival together means they are related to each other. Also, for them to look for me, specifically, and come right here on my doorstep means they’ve met with someone who they
