COLONY BASE Chapter 1

It's a sunny day of work at the Port Harbour of Erione when an Aristocrat passed by with her servants while waiting for their carriage.

"Did you know about the rumored incidents here these past days, Lady Arriane?" one of the servant of the Aristocrat Lady asked and opened the fan for her.

"Hm... Yes I've heard about it." the Lady answered having her head held high looking dignified.

"It's quite scary, isn't it my Lady? I wish that wouldn't happen to us." the other servant shivered while holding the umbrella for the Lady.

"Well, most cases happened only to peasants and commoners. You shouldn't think about it too much, Rin. Besides, I bet it only applies to these kind of people." the Lady continued to fan herself while looking down at the peasants and commoners that passed by.

Her servants awkwardly laugh since they themselves are not also far from being a peasant nor commoner although they are chosen to become a servant of an Aristocrat family.

"Hey, excuse me ladies. May I walk through?" a man with great body muscles smiled sweetly while holding several barrels of wine on his shoulders.

The servants blushed unknowingly when they saw the man's sweet smile and body build.

"L-Lady Arriane..." Ren called out when the Lady just stood there preoccupied with the gentleman's physique.

Lady Arriane snapped to reality and cleared her thought.

"S-Sorry..."

Both of her servant looked at each other.

"Thank you, my Lady. Have a nice day!" the man said and passed through them.

"H-Hm..." agreed Lady Arriane while feeling hot on her cheeks.

"M-My Lady... D-Did you just..." Rin was about to say something but Lady Arriane glared at her.

"I did nothing! You didn't witness anything!" she exclaimed.

Thankfully, the carriage came before she fire Rin out of knowhere.

But when the carriage door opened, Lady Arriane went inside and she quickly left leaving her two servants behind.

"My Lady!" the two cried and ran after the carriage to the capital.

"Wow you're such a womanizer, Asagi-san." Ken'ichi complimented after watching what just happened.

"Boy, you should understand that I didn't do anything special." Asagi said smiling innocently but Ken'ichi looked at him unbelievably.

I can't believe a person can be this dense. I mean, he just made five girls fall in love with him including a married one!

"Hey, Asagi! I am working so hard in here enduring being ugly but you...! You just took a long-cut and used your manly charms to walk through those ladies, didn't you?! How dare you!" Tokage held Asagi's collar pissed.

Sigh.

Here we go again.

"I didn't do anything illegal." Asagi just smiled at Tokage while defending himself.

"You liar! I didn't even have any woman look at me since birth!" Tokage cried while waving Asagi's collar.

Huh? Even his mother didn't looked when she gave birth to him?

Ken'ichi just watched them and chuckled.

"Ah! I forgot Mr. Lim needed the liquors to be delivered this hour! Gotta go!" Asagi-san said in a hurry and flew right away.

"HEY!! I'm not done with you!"

"GOOD LUCK!" Asagi-san shouted back that left us wondering.

"To-ka-ge.."

"AH!!" Tokage-san startled.

Ah, that's why Asagi-san flew away huh?

"C-CHERRY?! W-What brings y-you here?" he asked stuttered and chuckled awkardly.

Miss Cherry... 

She is someone Tokage-san has been avoiding eversince I startled working here. Every time she comes here or when we encounter her outside, Tokage-san looks anxious and is always hiding from her leaving me to entertain her.

I don't think Miss Cherry's unattractive though. I heard she has many great guys courting her.

"Didn't even have any woman look at me since birth" my ass! Tokage-san should really look at his way thoroughly.

"Ken.. Hey, Ken'ichi! Help me!" he whispered at me while Miss Cherry kept smiling in front of us. I looked back at Tokage-san and noticed he's almost similar to an over riped tomato.

Ah, now I get it. So that's what's happening, huh. This is the first time I saw him stood in front of her personally for like 10 -15 seconds.

"Miss Cherry..." I smiled sweetly at her then looked at Tokage-san who's eyes sparkled like saying, 'Thank you, Ken'ichi! You're the best!'

I smirked. "Please, excuse me." and bowed an elegant bow.

Before I went inside, I gave Tokage-san a thumbs up and he answered with an I'm-gonna-kill-you-later look.

Since the restocking was done early for the day, I was allowed to go home early.

"Our Barley wines are being consumed greatly. I hope we won't run out before the next restock." Asagi-san mumbled when he came inside the locker room.

"Toka-chan?" he asked while I was fixing my things.

I just pointed the restroom and zipped my bag. 

Moments after I left him with Miss Cherry outside, Tokage-san came inside looked depressed and went straight to the restroom locking himself.

"Ah." he answered as he tried to hide his laughter.

"By the way, Ken. Momoe invited us to her resto later tonight. Wanna come?" Asagi invited while shaving his beard in front of the mirror.

"What? MOMOE-san?!" 

The restroom door banged loudly as Tokage-san came out excitedly.

Looks like someone recovered from depression easily just by hearing a woman's name.

"Sorry, but I won't let myself be fooled by you again." Ken'ichi rejected remembering the last time they invited him to a resto but they ended up going to a red-light district.

Asagi just laughed loudly.

"Hey, where did you just take this kiddo last time? HUH?!" Tokage came madly at Asagi but...

"Take me there too!" I heard he whispered.

I just shrugged my shoulders. 

Such a troublesome, *senpais.

(Senpai: an older/ senior colleague; master; teacher; etc...)

"I'm going out now. Have a great night, *sempai." (senpai-informal)

Ken'ichi ran outside quickly and hanged on the bus that was leaving. The road was fa

r from their house that's why he had to walk home once he got off.

"*Nii-shan!" a little girl happily came running towards her big brother.

(Nii-san: Older Brother/ Nee-san: Older Sister)

"You're back early today!" she chuckled and hugged Ken'ichi.

"Welcome back, idiot." a girl carrying laundries also greeted.

"Hm? Nii-shan, what are you holding?" 

Ken'ichi gave the small bag of potato to her sister. 

"Guess what Sezuka, we're going to have your favorite snack later!" 

"Yey! Seshuka will wash this for later!" delighted, she ran back inside their home and washed the potatoes.

"By the way Rezu-nee, how's mom? Is she still..." Ken'ichi hesitated.

"She's still there but it's getting worse. We need to talk later." Rezuka said and left to dry the laundry.

"Oh, is that so..." 

Ken'ichi sighed long before he went inside to get some water.

"That's our last stock, nii-shan. No more water to drink this week. We need to fetch again." Sezuka said behind me.

Since their house was far from the main water source of the village, they get their water at the Silver Lake not so far from the area. They also thought they could save the bills this way.

"Hm... I will go fetch at the lake later, okay?" I smiled and patted Sezuka's head.

"Seshuka wants to go too!"

"Okay but be a good girl, alright?"

Ken'ichi stood up and went to their mother's room. A detached place from where they live in. 

"Nii-shan, a-are you sure it's okay?" Sezuka asked anxiously holding her brother's clothes tightly at his side.

Ken'ichi gulped and took a deep breath before he decided to go inside.
