PYRRHUS ~

Different from the gentle and pleasant face she had in the morning, Ruby's face was now deathly pale. 

Although the drive from office to here Theo was disturbing me to get there fast to check on her. 

The meeting with Beta Michael is not a pleasant one to be honest. Avery drop dead cold meeting that we only talked about the war and everything untill my pokenoseing elder asked where is wife was. 

"Oh, she's an actress, I just dropped her for an audition" he had replied. This is where I got to know that Ruby is going to thesame Audition as Ella.

Another elder had asked again, "How's she doing? I don't get to congratulate Miss Ruby for her marriage anniversary, is she doing well?" 

This is where the last ounce of patience in me melted. This shameless Micheal had opened his mouth and spat, "Oh you think I'm referring to Ruby as my wife? Well, we got divorced on our wedding anniversary" 

My fists clenched but I maintained my composture. I wasn't expecting him to say this in this kind of gathering when had called Ruby with solemn tone to apologize.

"Actually, Ruby cheated on me on our wedding anniversary night. Some arguments ensued and then we're divorced. I think you're asking about my new wife Ella" As he said this, I felt like punching him in the guts but for the sake of what Ella asked for; KEEPING OUR RELATIONSHIP SECRET, I kept my cool. 

After the meeting I came here. If anything, I would want Ella to be shamefaced and my Ruby.... To be at the top that she she deserves.

Ruby's long eyelashes were slightly trembling, and there was a tinge of pain in her round eyes. She must have been so scared when this vixen raised her claws at her. 

I wish I could gather her in my arms right now and give her a tight hug, but that will have to wait for later. 

'Action man. She's looking at you too much now' Theo alerted and I quickly switched from my tender gaze to cold ones that I want her to see. 

"What's wrong with you?" I managed to ask coldly and expressionlessly. I saw her body trembled, and she forced herself to raise her voice, "Oh, I.. I'm fine" 

'She must she vary of the people around, let's leave' adviced Theo

I cleared my voice, "Follow me." Without looking at Ella again, I strode forward and walked past her. 

How dare that bitch make my Luna feel so low? I'll show her what it means to be a Lycan King's Luna soon.

When I've walked five steps and I felt Ruby is not following me, I turned around and met her looking at me mesmerized. 

She was clearly stunned and I feel like smiling at her stunned expression but I kept my cold stare. 

My eyes caught Ella's too. I feel so disgusted by her. There's a little semblance amongst her and Ruby which makes them both look funny with these stunned face. 

I nod st Edison who quickly tapped Ruby. "My Lun.... em... Miss Ruby, the king's calling you"

Ruby snapped from her bizarre and rushed towards me.

'Ella's sister knows the King?'

'How can the Lycan King be asking to see an Omega like her?' 

'Or the King's is calling Ella?' 

I heard several whispers as Ruby shot towards my trying to stay normal and unaffected but I'm sure she'll give me a tons of tongue-lashing when we're alone.

We both stopped at the rooftop and there, Ruby's expression was the opposite of whay I'd expected, 

"Why are you here?" 

Why I'm here? I looked around me, just to find something to say but I was suddenly lost for words.

Damn!! 'Theo did you think being cold to her will make me control myself around her?' 

'Focus. Focus man?' was Theo's response. 

WTF should I focus on? 

"Pyrrhus why did you come here?" Ruby questioned again. When I felt that her questions are unending and I don't know what to say about my purpose of coming here, I walked over and hugged her. 

She was hesitant at first but I don't know what made her calm down and hugged me back. 

"You always come at the right time" I heard her whimper.

I was surprised. 'Man, what's happening? Isn't she supposed to be lashing at me?' 

'Tell me about it'

She wrapped her hands on me more tightly, I don't have choice but to do so too, "For the first time, I was able to outshine Ella" 

'Awwn' Theo howled, 'A century husband in making' 

I ignored Theo before responding, "I promised to protect you. I can't let my mate be in any trouble"

She released me and looked up, "But for real, why are you here?"

Thankfully, I'm a shareholder here so I quickly looked up with a smile, 

"I came to see someone at the hotel" 

Ruby's Express changed, like a hint of jealousy making her disentangle from me completely, "Then why did you take trouble to come to the audition hall? You're just changing characters like chameleon" 

My eyes paled when she compared me with a mere chameleon. What sort of foolish comparison is that?

'Action man!' Theo growled to urged me on. Then I adjusted myself again as I looked at her standing there with the elegant green dress on. 

"I met your ex today" I feel i should tell her one of the reason I came here. Ruby's expression changed, "He said alot of things, and... and I really don't want Ella to trouble you" 

She nodded indifferently, "Ella always trouble me, it's now a norm and I'm used to it. I know what Micheal would've said, but is that really why you're here?" 

"I have the highest share of this hotel so I'm free to come at anytime" instead lightly again.

Ruby let out an 'oh' in surprise as if she wanted say, 'Ohh that's So that's how it was. Such a big hotel and i thought.....

She sighed and checked her wristwatch, "It's almost time for the audition, I have to go now" 

"Go on, I'll wait for you here"

I thought that was all untill she turned back, "Thank you so much. You're the first to be concerned about my feelings" 

With that she walked away. 

Seeing her leave, Edison who was standing in some corner far from us came rushing, "My King" he bowed.

"What sort of audition is it today?" I asked with a frown. 

Edison tapped in the tablet and in a minute he handed it to me, "The CEO of flowers entertainment brought her here to cast in the historical fantasy movie as an extra. I heard it has already been sponsored by one of the elders but...."

I raised my hand and stopped him. I heard that Elder Clinton is sponsoring a movie in the honor of Selena, his granddaughter (My childhood friend) who's coming back to the country soon, but I don't know that it was thesame movie my Ruby will be auditioning for. 

'Our Luna is born Lucky' Theo cooed.

Looking at the direction that Ruby left with. I lowered my voice and said to Edison, "Go out tell the movie director that she's with me" 

"Yes My King" 

Damn them,, how can my Luna stress herself for any audition?
