Ellen's POV
"Boom!" Someone snapped at me, it caused me to squeak. I frowned at the familiar person.
"Ava!" I yelled at her, she giggled continuously and lounged on her locker, directly beside mine.
"Hi girl." She said in her high pitched, baby like voice, with a grin.
Ava Smith was my best friend in high school, despite our contrasting character. Ava was timid, gentle, calm, sweet, loving, caring and anything you could ever imagine, so vulnerable and sometimes, or, most of the time, gullible. I was the opposite of that.
I brought out a book from my locker and saw my Maths textbook. Oh my God, I yelled at Rana for no reason.
I chuckled, and noticed Ava give me a weird, confused look. Her expression was funny, which caused me to chuckle again.
"You're weird." She still gave me that look, but it turned to a wide grin. "At least you're not having the sulks." She giggled. It was like a habit, she always giggled.
"Have you heard about the additions to the 'Black Zees'. They are now 25." She grinned.
"What?" I answered, not paying attention to what she said.
"I said-" she started but I interrupted her.
"Okay." I just recalled what she said.
"The 'Black Zees' are the set of hot guys in this high school." She rolled her eyes "They-"
"It's okay." I interrupted her. "I remember them." I said and placed my books under my arm. She had told me about those snoots, multiple times.
The 'Black Zees' were these hot guys. They were the most respected popular guys, even the principal respected them. So weird!
They were rich, spoilt brats. They never revealed their names to anyone, never revealed their personalities. It was so hard for a guy to get into that bullshit group. They were every girls dream, except me. They were all dumb snoots to me.
"So," Ava continued and took a fruit bar from her purse, opened it, and began to eat it. "I said they have additions. They are now 25. This cute nerd, Hart, joined them. He has to change his name now."
"Why?" I frowned.
"Well, that's just how it is." She smiled.
"They're given a stupid importance." I furrowed my brows.
"Well. That's what they are. There's also a new guy that joined. He's really cute. He's the 5th already." She grinned, swaying her hair.
"What the hell is that for?" I gave her a confused look.
"Well. Anyone should feel proud to talk about them, always keeping myself updated about those dudes." She said so proudly.
"You're crazy. You all are crazy." I said, rolling my eyes.
Her eyes widened and she began to tug me.
"What's the problem?!" I asked, really pissed at her dumb reaction.
She opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out, instead, she looked left and right, before running to the left.
I turned my back to see anything. I hit my head on a hard figure, slightly taller.
"Ouch!" I yelped, rubbing my palm on my forehead, my books, falling from under my arm.
I raised my head to look at the figure. I noticed a huge guy with a bunch of guys at his back. He eyed me from head to toe, with an irritated expression plastered on his face. He sneered at me.
How rude!
"What the hell is this stupid piece of garbage shit doing here?" He yelled, his stupid saliva showering me.
His sentence sent electrocution down my spine. Who the hell did he think he was? I turned around to see if he was talking to someone else. I realised that I was the only one standing in his front view.
"What?!" I gruffed, letting out gasps from people in the hallway.
"What?!" He yelled, louder. "How dare you talk back?" He frowned harder.
"Hey!" Another guy from his back yelled, causing me to squeak.
"Don't you know who you're messing with?" Another guy yelled.
"What?!" I yelled, disgusted by their gruesome sneers. "Who the hell are you snooty jerks?" I crossed my arms around my chest with a smirk when I realised that they were the 'Black Zees', letting out gasps from people again.
"You?!" A guy yelled again.
I noticed Ava running towards me, trembling in obvious fear.
"We're so sorry. She's sick." Ava stupidly apologised.
"What? Ava?!" I yelled, really pissed. This was crazy.
"Ellen!" Ava said, pleading with her eyes that I should let go. She knew me well enough to know that I was not the easy going idiot. I was feisty.
"Oh. Ellen? Or, Should I say, 'Head leak'." He said and almost everyone, except Ava and I laughed. That was a very stupid joke. It didn't make any sense.
"Oh really." I smirked. "You're the 'Black Zees' right?" I sneered. Gasps came from people again, so dramatic.
"You're being rude and you should be punished." The guy I bumped into said, furrowing his brows.
"You're all bunch of fools, 'Black Zees' or should I say, 'Blank fools'." I mimicked, smirked. People gasped again. Why?!
"What?!" A huge guy came to me. He looked like he was about to hit me. I tried to hide my fear. "You're a mess." He yelled.
"Ellen!" Ava yelled, almost crying.
"Guys. Please leave her." A hot guy, from the group, came, blue eyes, beautiful face, well built and really hot. "She's a girl. Don't be too harsh." He said, grinning.
He was supporting me? Wow! How cute.
"Lady. You're one arrogant freak." He smiled and placed his hand on my cheek. It sent shivers down my spine, for some reason I didn't understand.
"What the hell, dude?" The guy I hit said. He seemed like their leader.
"Bro. Calm down. Just let go. She's just a cute, vulnerable girl." He said and I could feel my face turn red as I smiled.
Vulnerable? I was brave. But, the cute aspect was cute. I guessed he was the only sensible one.
He removed his hand from my face and tapped the shoulder of their supposed leader.
"Don't do it again?" Their leader said and waved his hand, indicating that they left.
Ava pulled me away before I could say anything else. She looked at them and sighed at the instant they left our sight.
She turned to look at me with a frown. "Ellen!" She yelled.
"You could have been ruddy dead meat." She scolded in concern.
"Or, vice versa." I pouted my lips. Bad habit.
"Thank God that hot dude, the fifth 'Black Zee', saved your ass. You would have rued this day for the rest of your life." She sighed then her frown changed to a grin.
"What's with that face?" I asked, sincerely curious.
"You know what?" She smirked.
"No, I don't. Obviously." I said truthfully.
"I think you already have a crush on him." She stated instantly.
"What? Him?" I yelled."What? No way." I walked fast in order to hide my blush.
"See. You're blushing." She ran to meet my pace.
"Duh! That doesn't mean I like him." I said, still blushing.
"Just the way you blushed when he held your face. He was cute, right?" She giggled, skipping.
"Shut up." I went to take my books from the floor and grasped them.
"Right? You can tell me. I know you have a crush on him already. You only blush to a guy when you have a crush on him, Ellen." She skipped and I followed her to the classroom.
"Ellen? Please tell me." She kept pestering ms, gave me a puppy eyes.
"Stop pestering me and get your dumb self out of my sight." I smiled.
She furrowed her brows. "How rude." She swayed her hair angrily.
I chuckled at her reaction. Images of the hot guy flashed in my head. He was awesome, sweet and his touch melted my brain.
"See." Ava said, smiling. "You're blushing again. Don't lie to me."
She was actually right. "Well. Maybe... You're... right." I blurted and heaved a sigh.
"Yes!" Ava hugged me and let out an excited squeak.
"Now. Don't bother me, okay?" I said, turned to our teacher when he came in.
***
"Hey Rana." I entered our living room and tossed my school bag over the couch.
"Hey sweetie." She grinned. I looked around and noticed the extremely neat room.
I sighed, sat on a couch. "What am I eating?"
"What?" She frowned. "I didn't get anything for you to eat."
"What?! Why?!" I yelled. "So dumb."
"You know I can't cook well, grumpy." She rolled her eyes. "You'll only make fun of my cooking."
"Stupid, I don't want to eat your food. I'm not ready to die." I said truthfully. Rana was a very bad cook. It's either too salty or not even salty, too sweet or tasteless, burnt or undercooked.
"What?!" She snapped.
"You should have ordered food since our maids were recently fired by our parents for absolutely no reason."
"Yeah. Stupid." She winced her face in disgust.
"Just get me something, okay?" I placed my legs on another couch by the edge of the one we were sitting on.
"So. Any news?" I asked her.
"Oh yeah." She grinned.
I sighed. I made a mistake by asking. It was going to link to many boring discussions.
"Well today I met Sofia." She started.
"Who's Sofia?" I asked. I knew she must have told me about the person but I didn't remember. What was always wrong with me?
"Stupid, she was my high school friend." She lounged on the couch.
"I'm no longer interested." I furrowed my brows.
"Oh. Please sorry." She said, then narrowed her eyes gruesomely. She looked at me then tilted her head.
"What?" I asked with a boring look.
She grinned then unexpectedly rolled her eyes. "I thought you were going to have the sulks when you came back." She said.
"Why?" I asked, miffed.
She bit her upper lips, looked around like she was thinking of what to say. "Well... You... Uhm... Your." She stumbled on her words, scrunching her hair.
"Just be straight with your point." I frowned. It sometimes felt weird that my twin sister was sometimes scared of me. I actually liked it in some ways.
"Okay." She sighed. "Your maths textbook."
I smiled, trying to hold back the laughter, but, let it out.
"What's funny." She furrowed her brows.
I waved my hand. "Never mind. I found it." I laughed so hard, that I had to gasp for air.
"You're crazy. Do you know how worried I was? You could have called?" She frowned.
"Sorry Ran." I gave her a hug, still laughing, a little.
"Okay. Fine." She frowned.
I stopped hugging her. "What's chilling Ran?" I slapped her shoulder, gently.
She narrowed her eyes like she was thinking.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Well today. I called Traven and-"
"I'm not interested." I interrupted, rolled my eyes.
"Okay." She sighed then grinned, blushing.
"Now will you tell me what that's for?" I teased her, poking her.
"I'm going on a date with Tra-" she paused as if thinking of something. "With my boyfriend."
"Tonight?" I asked with concern.
"Yes." She blushed.
"Okay. Fine." I said. My stomach growled in anger that it hadn't been supplied with enough food for that day. "I need to get food."
"Yeah. Whatever." She rolled her eyes.
"Don't you want anything to eat?" I asked.
"No. I don't want to be full and not eat anything with my boyfriend." She blushed again.
"Whatever. Love, you say?" I grinned and went to change my clothes. I left for the food store.
Ellen's POVMy phone kept on ringing, it seemed like it was a stupid ring in my head.I didn't want to answer it. I scrunched my bed sheet, out of frustration."Ellen!" A voice suddenly screamed my name. I was damn sure it was Rana."Ellen! You better get your stupid ass off that bed or you'll rue your decision." She kept on screaming. She was grueling.I decided to ignore but let out a yelp when I felt a great thud on my back."Rana!" I frowned then sat on the bed. I pouted my lips and put my hand on my face. "Why did you have to disturb my life break, sleep?" I asked, with furrowed brows."Your damn phone was ringing and singing jingle bells or shit." She frowned."You're such a gadfly. You're just causing an hassle."My phone rang again. It was Ava."Hello!" I y
Rana's POV"Hi baby doll." Traven said, the instance he noticed me walk into the restaurant."Hi Traven." I grinned and sat on the chair beside the one he was sitting on.He planted a gentle kiss on my lips. It sent shivers down my spine. I could feel my face go red hot."Traven?!" I said shyly and looked around with a smile plastered on my face. "We're in public.""Do I care about public?" He smirked. How hot and romantic.I raised my eyebrows, opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. I smiled, biting my inside cheek."Now don't blush to much." He gave me another kiss on my cheek. It felt warm and cold.Traven called a waiter and he came immediately."What would you like to eat Rana?" Traven asked, stroking my hair."Nothing. Okay? Just get me a cup of juice." I said to the wait
Ellen's POVThe image of Max kept flashing in my head. I had been dreaming about him all day long. I couldn't concentrate on anything, I was doing. He was ruddy hot.I didn't tell Rana about him, since the day I met him, which has not been 24 hours yet, because I didn't feel the need to, like my other, former crushes. But this guy was special. He needed attention.Rana had gone to church but I had a profane attitude. I felt it was too much stress.I heaved a sigh and sat on the living room floor."Max! Damn you! Why don't you get out of my head, for even a second." I groaned.I felt a nudge and involuntarily squeaked."Now, who the hell is Max?" Someone said from behind me. Rana! Asshole.I heaved a sigh then turned to look at her, giggling. I rolled my eyes."Rana?" I crossed my
Ellen's POV"Please Rana!" I begged her, scurrying after her. She was ignoring me and went to the kitchen. I followed her."Stop pestering me and leave me alone. I'm not ready to go to that fashion designer with you." I had been begging Rana to go with me to choose the greatest designs for my graduation and prom clothes. My graduation was very soon!"Rana! Please!" I pouted my lips and did the best puppy eye I could ever do."You should really stop that." She scoffed. "It doesn't suite you." She laughed. She opened the fridge and took a plate of cooked, frozen chicken from it."Rana! You know how much I hate begging humans?" I said abruptly."Then don't." She snapped. "Why the hell are you even begging me?"She placed the chicken in the microwave, turned it on.I tried to create a fudge. I didn't want to choose any stupid design then later rue
Traven's POVEllen wasn't noticing my presence but talking with Beth about clothes for her graduation and prom. I rolled my eyes at her. She was taking those things as a big deal? Well, I guessed that was the way all girls were.I had to win the bet of the 'Black Zees'.Recall..."Hey guys." Ronald, the first, leader of our group, gruffed.Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and assembled around him.He nodded his head. "There's a new bet, and whoever wins it stands the chance of being promoted in this group." He informed with vexation."What's the bet?" I asked, curiously. I was the only one brave enough to talk or ask questions when Ronald was talking. The rest just always went dumb.He frowned. "I'm not done talking." He waved in chafe.
Traven's POVI was thwart, at the fact that Rana was ready to leave, but I agreed to go on the date.I craned my neck to look at Rana. She looked really excited. I felt like an asshole for cheating on her. I promised, after high school, she would be the only woman in my life. Or, Ellen.I heaved a sigh and took a bite of my Beans on toast."I'm sorry for yelling." Rana bent her head, in abash."It's fine." I grinned and brought my phone out of my pocket. I went to the ringtone to make it seem like I had a phone call."Hello." I smiled. "Dad?" I looked at Rana. "Oh. Yes. I'm coming." I placed the phone back in my pocket."You're leaving?" She frowned, sadness registered in her tone.I heaved a sigh, drove my fingers into my hair. "No. I have to meet my dad for business. I'll be right back." I pla
Traven's POVI wrapped my arm around Ellen's waist, held the back of her head, tight, with the help of the hand of my other arm, and forced a hard kiss on her lips.I could tell that she was completely shocked, but melted into the sensation.I didn't want to break the kiss at that moment. It felt so good.I shut my eyes for a while, and, opened it. My eyes met with Rana's, across the road. It was really shocking. What was she doing there? Her eyes expressed a painful astonishment. I could feel my heart sink to my feet.None of my girlfriends, ever caught me cheating. Why Rana?!Tears rolled down her cheeks and her eyes became, instantly red. She shook her head, sobbing. Her entire body was vibrating.I didn't realise that I hadn't broken the kiss until she turned, and ran away with a very great speed.
Rana's POVI sprinted to the living room."Ellen." I hollered.I noticed Ellen sitting on the chair and reading a newspaper. That was awkward, but I decided to brush it off with a shake of head."Ellen." I sat beside her."What?" She glared."Traven said he is coming over." I wailed unexpectedly."So?" She rolled her eyes."I don't want to see him. I am not ready for that. I am in enough pain." I sniffed, wiped the tears on my cheeks."I know, but you have to talk." She smiled, dropped the tedious newspaper, on the table. She rested her palms on my thigh, heaved a sigh."I don't want to see that asshole. I can't believe he cheated. It drives me crazy when I think about it." I sobbed."You still have to listen to him." She stood up, placed her hands on her hips with a rol
