Prologue

* Instead of asking,  " Why is this happening to me? Rather ask, " What is this teaching me? "  *

It felt like I had been sleeping for lifetimes as I felt very light headed as I opened my eyes...

Slowly, yet steadily.

Unlike the environment and atmosphere I would have loved to wake up to.

The sight that greeted me was really astonishing. 

Feeling the cold Sandy floor where my body laid... 

Something in me shook and I sat up abruptly.

And then, it felt like my worst nightmare had finally come true as I realized that I was in a very old mud house-like place.

I also wasn't alone... 

I looked around the pile of bodies that lay in the house and realized that we were like a hundred.

Though the mud house looked very small... It was rather large and spacious. 

My eyes scanned through them all and finally settled on one, my best friend Clover and then another, Sasha. 

   While I was still trying to put pieces together to come up with a reasonable answer from all of this. A voice from behind me got my attention.

" Oh no... Mia. We've been kidnapped! " 

The voice was Angelina's.

At first, her words didn't register until I turned and stared back at her.

Seeing the horror in her expression, realization finally dawned on me. " Kidnapped? " 

No.... That can't happen! 

I screamed inwardly.

" Are you sure? " That might probably be the most stupid question ever but still I found myself asking. 

   " Yes, Mia! We've been kidnapped! " She almost screamed out. 

It took several minutes before my brain began functioning once again.

If we've really been kidnapped then it means we were all intoxicated.

The last thing I remembered was the smell of gas before my entire world blanked out.

So the question is, How long have we been asleep?

" I wonder what the time is. " Angelina's voice made me raise an eyebrow.

I raised my hand and realizing that I still had my wrist watch tightly strapped on it, I was relieved.

" Twelve o'clock. " I said.

" In the morning I guess... " I added.

" Yeah... So we've probably been asleep for twelve hours. "

" You are right. "

" What are we going to do, Angel? " I found myself asking, having no idea what can probably be done.

" Well... I am not sure, Mia. If we had been kidnapped by the country's bandits then it wouldn't be easy for us to escape as we would have been brought to a very deep forest. "

" Oh... " 

" Also, I don't think they kidnapped us for ransom. "

" Meaning? " 

" If it were for ransom they wouldn't have made us sleep for so long, and also would have called our parents demanding money already. But seeing the situation, I don't think that's the case. "

" So why do you think we have been kidnapped? " I inquired trying to understand the situation at hand. 

" For revenge I guess... I have heard rumors that the bandits are planning to overthrow the government in power and the only way they can succeed in that is through revenge. "

" If that's the case... Then it must be very serious. "

" Indeed. " 

The duo were quiet for some minutes until Angel asked a question.

" You've never gone a day without food, have you? " 

" No... I always had my meals on time. Mia replied honestly, while wondering while Angelina asked that question.

" Well... I guess you'll have to get used to going without food and water. "

" Really? "

" Yeah... We will be fed, but just to keep us alive. "

" Oh… ”  Mia sighed, finally understanding what she meant. 

" But we'll be fine. " Angelina surprised herself by saying that.

" You think? " 

" Yeah... Aren't you the one that says, " Everything happens for a reason and truth wins? "  "

" I am... " Mia said tearfully.

" We'll get through this, Mia... " Angelina stood up and hugged her. 

" I believe we will... Mia smiled bitterly, embracing her tightly.

" Mia, I have a feeling that our destinies are interwoven. Angelina spoke later as they both laid side by side on the sandy ground among other students.

" Really? Do you think so? "

" Yeah. " She paused before continuing. " You know, Mia. From the time you had saved me from those guys... I felt that connection. I had this feeling that we both are destined for so much more. " 

" Um.... Maybe we are indeed destined to bring a stop to these exploitations. "

" I believe so, Mia. " 

" But we'll have to stay strong. "

" Yeah... "

" We don't have to be strong all by ourselves, we will constantly draw strength from our maker. "

" Yes, Mia. " 

" Let's pray. Mia said, holding Angelina's hands.

" Yes. " Angelina replied as they both closed their eyes.

" Heavenly Father.... We thank you and appreciate you. " Perhaps it was just an illusion but the moment that sentence was made, they both felt a presence... 

A very comforting one that surrounded them like a blanket. 

One which screamed safety and comfort. 

" Thank you Father for ordaining us both to bring freedom to our country... We adore you, Lord. "

" My king.... Thanks for your promises which will be manifested in our lives. "

" Thanks for your majestic presence amongst us... "

" We give you all the glory and Honor. "

" Amen. "

" Lord, we ask for the forgiveness of sins. "

" Forgive us our trespasses, Father. "

" Blot out our sins and iniquities. "

" Wash us clean with your precious blood. " 

" Make us as white as snow.... In Jesus name. " 

" Amen. "

" Lord, we ask for strength for what's to come. "

" We ask for your grace which is always sufficient for us. "

" We ask for unwavering faith and trust in you. "

" Help us to trust you even when it doesn't make sense. "

" Help us to lean on your father. " 

" Enable us to continually draw strength from you, Lord. "

" Father.... Be with us through all of this. "

" Help us to overcome temptations. "

" Father... Help us not to deny you. "

" My King... Don't leave us ever! "

" Let your presence abide with us continually. "

" Make us hot coals of fire... So the enemy doesn't mishandle us. "

" Lord... Make us your ambassadors. "

" Father, breathe in us... "

" Fill us with your power and might. "

" Continually surround us with your presence like a shield... Lord. "

" Help us, Lord... "

" Strengthen us, father.... "

" Comfort us, Lord. "

" Hold us, Father... "

" Keep us, Lord.... "

" We trust that you'll deliver us from this captivity when the time comes. "

" Help us to remain with you. "

" Help us to fulfill our destiny. "

" Help us to fulfill our purposes. "

" Have mercy on us, Lord. "

" Cover us with your blood. "

" We trust you father. "

" Keep us burning for you. "

" Be with us. "

" Guide us. "

" Be our voice. " 

" Be our song. " 

" Be our eyes. " 

" Take control of our totality. "

" Feed us with your daily bread so we'll not hunger. "

" Feed us with your living water so we'll not thirst. "

" Fill us with your strength so we'll not get tired. "

" Father.... We trust you. "

" We believe in you. "

" Help us to keep loving you. "

" Help us to keep seeking your face. " 

" Don't leave us, Lord. "

" Stay with us.... "

" In Jesus name... We've prayed. "

" Amen. " The girl's said in unison as their tears fell..

" We've got this, Mia. "

" Yes, we have. " They said as they embraced one another tightly.

Psalm 27 : 10

Says, 

" Even if my father and my mother forsake me. Then the Lord will take me up. "
