Going back to her office, she never expected to see the person now waiting in her visitor's chair in her office. Being stunned to have found Cedrick Miguel prominently sitting at the chair in front of her table, she tried to heave a sigh and calm her senses.
Did he go straight into my office after he adjourned the meeting? Seriously? What is this brute thinking! Is he not worried that people might talk about us and wonder what is he doing in my office every time?
"What took you so long? Been waiting here for you..." A captivating smile welcomed her the moment he saw her enter her office.
"I have to settle things out in the Conference and have the minutes I recorded printed out first." She explained. "Why?" She added.
"You're overdoing your job. You don't have to do that." He commented. She then rolled her eyes as a response.
Seriously? Don't have to do
As expected, the Annual Anniversary Party was grand and extravagant. Employees are in their best dresses and suits, guests such as rich people and celebrities in their expensive clothes flocked together and socializing. Photographers and media for tabloids and newspapers are ready to capture every important detail of the event as well. Just like she imagined, she will see familiar faces and famous socialites and celebrities, politicians and some well-known persons in the business world. No wonder this is not just an ordinary event, it's one of the biggest party events of the year. This is the reason why she doesn't like this kind of party. Money, fame, and glamour are the rules of the game beyond business. This is like a routine, people will stop for a while, meet and greet, exchange pleasantries and compliments with their acquaintances and she finds that unreal and too shallow.
"Is there a problem here?" They were both got stunned to find it was nothing but Cedrick Miguel who was now glaring furiously at Abigail while the latter's hand still raised in the air. Abigail couldn't help but gape in shock as she saw the dangerous glare of Cedrick Miguel. "M-Mr. P-President!" Abigail's voice seemed to shake in dread and fear as she guiltily put her hands down. "Uh... Miss..... What's your name again?" Cedrick Miguel asked full of annoyance and resisting anger. "A-Abigail Collins, S-Sir..." The woman replied stuttering.
After the party, he decided to drive home to their mansion that night. He doesn't feel like going home to his pad where he usually stays after a late-night party or a long important meeting. His mind was too bewildered and confused he might need a long drive to distract himself. His ego was hurt, his heart was pained and all he just wanted to do is drunk himself more. He was so upset about how things worked between him and Gav. It was never his intention to confess tonight but he got so pissed at how she got things in the wrong way. He never thought that all this time, she was thinking that he was after her stepsister when all along he was trying hard to show him that he cares and she was special to him. He liked her, he was attracted to her. No, that was an understatement, who is he fooling? This might be stupid but he knew it was deeper than that. Perhaps, he had already fallen in love with her all along. Or maybe, this is the hidden feelings th
He keeps on driving as flashes of memories keep on continuing coming back to him. One time he remembered he had dinner with the Dela Garza family. It was the time his relationship with Leanna was official to their both families. He never told Gav about it and he bet she would be surprised and be happy for them if he find out about his relationship with her stepsister. The one thing that puzzled and worried him at that time is her silence throughout the dinner. He tried to make a conversation but she rarely replies. Soon he realized it seems like she was not comfortable with her own family. She would answer when asked but most of the time it was short and direct. There was never a time she told him about her family problems. He remembered she told him one time how happy she was when she learned she'll be having a little sister but never told her about her stepmom and stepsister Leanna. He realized that night over the dinner that she was not that close to her stepmom and Leanna.
"I was about to invite you tonight for a dinner. Don't tell me you forgot the dinner you promised me?" He told Gav when he joined her at the Company's Cafeteria. He found her there sitting alone while having a break. Her forehead knotted as if trying to think about the last conversation they had in his office. Truth is she never promised him the dinner would be tonight but he tried to take a chance though hoping he would make her agree this time. If he has to be persistent so he could be with her, then he will be."Don't take overtime today. Be out at 5 pm, I'll talk to your Department Head." He stated not giving her a chance to refuse."I'm sorry I can't." She replied."Why?""As I've told you we have overtime. The team is working on a new big plan strategy and everyone's participation is needed. I just can't leave early know
"Your coming to the Annual Anniversary Party of the Company?" He remembers asking her while they were having lunch in a restaurant. He planned to ask her to be her date at the said party hoping she will say yes."Dad obliged me to attend. I'm not sure. Don't tell me it's compulsory for employees to attend?" She said in a naughty tone. She used to attend yearly if he was not mistaken. In fact, her whole family never missed attending a single Anniversary Party of the Company. She stopped attending four years ago and by those years, he knew at the back of his mind he wished to see her at those events."No, I just want us to attend together maybe?" He stated simply then jerked his eyes away afraid she might notice his nervousness.Heck, he has never been so nervous to just ask a girl to be his date at a formal gathering. He was like a foolish teenage boy who is asking the girl he likes to be
Feeling agitated and uneasy, she jerked her eyes away from the window glass of the plane even though all she could see is nothing but clouds. The Executives together with Cedrick Miguel who is no other than the President/CEO of the Company will about to visit the site to check the daily operations of the project in Calor Del Cielo. Being an Executive Assistant, her attendance is needed because she needs to assist the needs of the Executives as well as organize their meetings, trips, and schedules. It's been a week had passed since the Annual Anniversary party and she had been avoiding Cedric Miguel after the confessions of his feelings. That night, she left the place and run away leaving him alone in the poolside area. It was a relief he never tried to stop nor followed her after that. She went home crying and immediately hugged her best friend Kaycee the moment her friend opened the apartment door for her. Kaycee got worried an
When they reached booked hotel resort, just as soon as she and Lyzza got their room number, Cedrick Miguel intentionally send an errand to his secretary just so the woman will leave them alone together. Cedric Miguel insisted to usher her to her room and it sucks she never had a chance to decline. They were both silent as they were walking along the way until he decided to break the silence between them and straightforwardly confront her."You're avoiding me? Why?" He frankly confronted that surprised her never expecting that he'll straightly approach her. He had been formal and professional the whole day, now that he had a chance to ruin her day he try to bring up his so-called feelings again."I'm not avoiding you." She replied then jerked her eyes away to avoid meeting his eyes."Come on Gav, don't deny it. It's pretty obvious you're avoiding me. Did I intimidate y
