Camila's P.O.V
"Oh, look who decided to finally show up!", exclaimed my mother, once I stepped foot into the sitting room.
I fought the urge to roll my eyes, seeing heads turn to look in my direction. My eyes caught every snare from the members of my family, but I played it off as if it was nothing and put my bags on the floor.
"What're those?" Quinn asks pointing to the two the bags.
"Wedding gifts, from Josh" I replied shrugging my shoulders.
That was enough to keep her uninterested for as long as it could. It was just 1:30 p.m, I couldn't control the lunch meeting at the tavern, Josh and I had a lot of catching up to do.
"How is Josh?" Mom asks adjusting herself where she sat, "haven't seen him around in a while" she finished playing as if she cared.
"He was in Fiji, on business" I replied nodding my head, letting the answer in the air.
There was a heavy silence in the room until Luca, Elijah's father said something. He said it to Elijah, and they both walked out of the room.
"Why don't you come and sit with us?" Judie, Elijah's mother asks patting the spot next to her on the couch.
"I'd love to Judie, but unfortunately I have some bags to unpack and I have some stuff to do before the night" I replied politely, motioning upstairs.
She nods with an understanding smile, she wasn't like the rest in the room, she was very calm and collected. I noticed that about her, she was very open minded and spoke whatever she pleased, a woman like that, I could stand to be around.
"What could be more important than spedning quality time with your own family?" Dad asks in a daring tone, pouring a glass of bourbon, great, hasn't been here for an hour and is already sucking down the cellar.
"Leave the poor child alone Nick, she's probably tired, will you hop off of her back for a day?" Judie asks rolling her eyes at my shocked father, finally, someone to stand up to him.
I give her a polite smile, before picking up my bags and heading upstairs. I definitely am tired, driving a whole hour to meet Josh and back wasn't easy, plus the sun was saying hello my whole way.
My father always wanted to be in control, he surely controlled my mother and my sister, but somewhere deep down inside his dark old soul, he knew that he couldn't cpntrol me all the way because I will go against his words whenever I felt like it.
This whole marriage was apart of some scheme he was plotting, I knew him all too well to put anything passed him. It was something about business for both parties, for me to never have spoken words to Elijah, then to marry him just like that, that says a lot and I don't hate Elijah either. I hate the fact that he went alomg with the sham.
They could've married off Quinn, I knew she'd be happy being married to her life long crush. She always had these weird fantasies about her marrying Elijah, she was so infatuated by him. It would've gone better if they married her off, but no, they just had to pull me into their evil plots.
The last thing I'd need right now is them sending me off with Elijah for some stupid fake trip, that would really set it off. Anything for the publicity of their names, I had already agreed to fake wedding, why would they bother to send us off, they wouldn't do that.
Right?.
Anyway, I've got some important work I need to get done before I can finally settle and be relaxed in this house with all of them.
I was in the kitchen, watching the chef my father hired, he just couldn't do without laboring someone else. I came down to make myself something to eat when I saw him, his name was yet to be disclosed but he said that I could call him Chef. I had no problem calling him that, but I'd prefer his real name instead.
"Do you always watch your food being prepared?" Elijah asks taking a seat next to me at the island.
"Do you always find ways to annoy me with your presence?" I ask tapping my fingers on the island top.
"I'm stuck with you for as long as this thing goes, so deal with it"Elijah retorts and I just knew he rolled his eyes.
Refusing to give him any more conversation, I stayed silent and just watched Chef prepare my meal. Elijah just sat there on his phone, once in a while he'd glance at me, I could just punch him off of his high horse, but that wasn't me, I knew better than to retort in his favor.
After I got my food, I sat there and began to nibble on the bacon. I was having my usual, the one I had at the same time everyday, at precisely 4:30 p.m, I'd make a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch with cold milk, a slice of toasted bread and bacon, it was a favorite ever since my grandma was alive, she always made it for me so I grew into the habit of having it.
Elijah just sat there, drinking coffee, he was definitely a business man. I only drank coffee in the mornings, however else, I drink a cold latte or a cold drink.
"Elijah"Quinn drawls sweetly as she strolled into the kitchen.
I rolled my eyes at her sweet voice, she just could never get over her crush. I see why she's all infatuated with him, but he wasn't all that of a person, as far as I could see. She was just one of many who fawned over him.
"Your father asked me to get you"Quinn says wrapping her arm around Elijah's, "oh, and her too"she says flipping her hair and shooting me unnecessary glares.
"Thank you Quinn, we'll be right there"Elijah says feeding into her infatuation, oh lord.
I wanted to throw up, she was enough of a push over let alone him feeding into her obvious feelings. I just knew he had an idea of her being in love with him, and he just seemed to enjoyed it.
What a man.
Quinn walked away, wheeling her flimsy body away, okay, she wasn't flimsy but, she was definitely something. With her always pedicured nails, her long dry blonde hair, her surgical nose and her big ass forehead, anyone who grew up in my household, would hate their older sister, the perfect daughter.
"Why do you look like that?" Elijah asks snapping me back into reality.
"I could just spit on her and watch her shrivel and die"I say squeezing the spoon in my palm.
Elijah let out a low chuckle while removing the spook from my hand. I look at him in confusion, why's he so nice all of a sudden?.
"Let's go"he says helping me up from the chair.
I fought the urge to pull my hand from his but I didn't, I wanted to see Quinn's face when we walked in there.
Camila's P.O.VMy eyes stayed on the back of Elijah, just glaring, I so wanted to smack him in the back of his head. He just had to agree with them.fter we walked into the sitting room, his father proposed that we needed to go on a honeymoon. Just to make the marriage seemingly more real, it was just a stupid contract, why did I have to get stuck with him for two weeks, alone!.I was already dreading being stuck here in this house, I just wanted everything to be done and over with. I wanted them to their contract over with, why did most of these things always involve ruining somebody's life?. They could've just gone another way, but they Seniors wanted to make sure it was a real marriage, or their million dollar deal was off. Both families already had billions of dollars, why did we have to
Camila The taste of cold lemonade filled my tastebuds as I gazed over the beach. It has only been a week since we've been in Italy, and it wasn't all that bad. Elijah wasn't a total scum as I thought, but I will never let my guard down. He's a Camorra, I never trust one, except Mira, you can't not trust Mira, she's one in a million and will most definitely fight for your trust. As I sat under an umbrella scene, I gazed at the couples enjoying their trip, they looked in love, there was even one couple feeding each other. There was feeling inside me that so wanted one of them to choke, lucky bastards. I was stuck here with a man I rarely even liked, let alone to be in love with and they're just flaunting their love in the air. Italy was definit
Camila "Stop"I laughed trying to push Elijah away from me as we entered the house. He has been bugging me and trying to annoy me since we landed and the car came to pick us up. Mind, there was a lot of paparazzi when we landed, to say it was unexpected would be a lie. And to see us laughing, that only gave them more gossip, so we'll expect new magazine covers by tomorrow morning. "Come on, it couldn't have been that bad Cam"he says chucking and taking my suitcase. I shook head with a smile, he started calling me Cam ever since that dinner, after we got drunk and went back to our room, some very interesting things happened that we decided to never speak of again. Now, he was asking m
Elijah I walked into the kitchen smelling waffles again, two days in a row I've been smelling waffles and each time I come into the kitchen, Camila was seated at the island. Except this time, she was seated on top of the island with her earphones in and her legs crossed, her eyes closed and she looked calm and peaceful. Chef was by the waffle maker, he was already dressed in his uniform, he never spoke to anyone, just cooked and served. I've heard Camila laughing and snickering whenever she was with him alone, but he never smiled to anyone else or talked to to anyone else, she really had her way with others. I haven't been able to look at Camila from the night before because she always trie
Camila"I can't believe your Dad had him inside your house"Josh says over the Skype call.He and Mira called me right after I told them who was here earlier. I don't think he's gone yet because Elijah hadn't come calling me. I couldn't believe he was here either, all those things my father made me do just so he could make more money and be at the top.He never once used Quinn for his work purposes, he always used me. And I couldn't do anything about it because he'd most likely kill me if I went against his words."I believe he would, after all he's done and is still doing, he will stop at nothing to get what he wants"Mira says skipping through her textbook pages.
Camila "Thanks Josh, I'll email you the rest of the information"I say to the blonde boy staring at me through the my laptop. "Sure, we'll talk later"he says waving his hand with a smile. I smile then ended the Skype video call. I rubbed my eyes and winced at the pain in my right arm, I rolled up my sleeve and looked at the black and blue bruise that once was red, it covered almost half of arm. I had to wear hoodies and long sleeved shirts around the house. My mother indeed got her revenge, she couldn't wait until it was just us in the house. I wanted to go out but my father ordered me not to, I really knew better than to go against his orders.
Camila "You know that it is mandatory for us to attend this gala"Dad says to me, trying his best to not yell all because I told him didn't feel well to go. We go every year, if we miss one year I'm sure it won't be a problem. I don't have to go, if they want to then they can. But I really wasn't up for the challenge. "She says she's not feeling well Nick, at least let her sit this one out"Judie says rubbing my arm in comfort. I knew she wasn't like the rest of them, ever since she's been here, she's tried to be on my side as much as possible. I appreciate that, but my father would always get his way, no matter how hard we try and plea with him to let me stay home.
Camila The faint smell of alcohol lingered in the air as I sat inside the bar, awaiting Josh's return from the bathroom. I didn't plan on going out tonight, but he convinced me to the comfort of my own room, just so I could watch him flirt with girls all night. The night was hot enough already, and the last thing I really needed was a room full of drunk people rubbing up on each other. The last time I was out at a club was seven months ago, when I first found out that I would be married off to Elijah. It wasn't a planned night, but it did end fairly. Josh and Mira had to take me back to Josh's place just so I could sleep off everything and then they made sure to take me home in the morning. That was the first time I had ever let myself go lik
