Chapter 143: Catacomb

Slowly, step by step, we all proceeded. The siblings carrying their brother on their shoulders, the Queen of Greed in front, leading the procession. Demons joined our walk behind us, in complete silence.

With Elyse and Elle next to me, I felt a lot more confident walking through thousands of demons. All eyes were on us, and I sensed Sam and Adrian's tension, though they didn't glance back. I knew it made them uncomfortable that Elle and I were walking behind them, out of reach from their hands.

The Queen of Greed continued, walking in a circle around the middle of the garden. She stopped when she reached an empty spot. There was a sort of bunker there, big enough for a person to stand in. Fires roared at the top of it. The big stone door was shut.

This is where Micah's body would be put to rest.

As the queen halted her walk, so did we.

She turned towards us, her face still veiled, and stared at all of us for a few seconds.
