I deliberately provoked Eiser’s attention with an incredible amount of boldness. But honestly, I think this has gone far beyond being brave. I didn’t even know where I got this reckless courage from.
I was taking Eiser to his car while he was drunk. The same man who, just moments ago, had humiliated and harshly thrown me out of the VIP room.
Someone, please give me an award for being the bravest damn woman alive.
Eiser stared at me sharply. His defined jawline was intimidating enough to make me nervous. I knew he was drunk because his eyes were blinking slowly, and he leaned his head closer to me.
“You’re very brave. Or are you actually just stupid?” he murmured in a husky voice.
The strong scent of alcohol hit my face. I instinctively moved away from Eiser.
But a second later, Eiser roughly pulled me back.
Then, without warning, his lips landed on my neck. A strange shiver ran through me as he traced my skin.
I let out a short breath.
Oh God, this feels so good.
But the sudden pressure of his hand gripping my waist snapped me back to reality. This was wrong. Why the hell did I just react like that?
I pushed him away until his body hit the car door. His eyes darkened, and he immediately pulled me back into his arms without hesitation.
It must have been the alcohol affecting him because the man began kissing me with overwhelming intensity. God, he was completely out of control.
It was dangerous for me.
I was almost out of breath because he kissed me fiercely, giving me no chance to respond.
When he lifted me onto his lap, I resisted.
“Not here, sir.”
I couldn’t give in to what he wanted right now. This was my plan. I had to get to his headquarters and search for evidence there. That meant he had to take me back with him.
Eiser curled the corner of his lips into a sinister smile that looked terrifying to me. He was drunk, and his judgment was clouded.
Honestly, I hoped he would take me to his headquarters or maybe his house. Not…
“Noirvelle Hotel. Now,” Eiser ordered someone behind the wheel.
A hotel?
Oh God! He wanted to take me to a hotel.
I bit the inside of my lip until I could taste blood. This was far from my plan.
“What about going to your house instead, sir? Hotels are too public, aren’t they?”
He looked at me again with those dark eyes.
“Where should I take you, Mr. Reins Eiser?” the driver’s voice asked for confirmation.
“Noirvelle Hotel.”
“Understood.”
The car started and drove away from the parking area. I looked out the window before finally turning my gaze back toward Eiser.
This man couldn’t notice my anxiety.
Damn it. I had to deal with him for the entire night. What was going to happen next?
I should have listened to Danny and been more careful. My target this time was Reins Eiser.
I slowly exhaled when Eiser’s car stopped in front of Noirvelle Hotel.
This bastard really brought me here.
Eiser stepped out of the car, and my anxiety only grew stronger. He pulled me out with him.
The man wrapped his hand tightly around my waist.
“You like touching me, don’t you?” he said coldly. “I’ll give you a good game, bitch.”
The insult left a painful sting.
What a bastard!
If only I could beat him up right now. But I had to stay patient. There were still many of Eiser’s guards watching us.
Was this going to be a difficult night for me?
All of this… just for a mission?
I would definitely protest to the board if my promotion was canceled because of this.
Right now, the only thing on my mind was gathering enough evidence to arrest Reins Eiser.

Reins Eiser
I stared at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. The cold water snapped me out of the effects of the damn alcohol. I was fully conscious now, and slowly began to remember what had happened.
Why was I here? In the bathroom of the Noirvelle Hotel?
Fragments of blurry memories flashed through my mind. Little by little, I started to see what I had done that led me here.
“Shit!!!” I cursed loudly, realizing I had done something reckless.
I should have been able to control myself and avoid getting drunk. This was all because of that woman.
She had the nerve to ignore the rules and act so boldly.
For a moment, suspicion began to creep into my mind. That woman could be someone sent to approach me. But the question was... who sent her?
A sharp pain throbbed in my head, making me growl. My hand gripped the edge of the sink tightly.
Damn it.
If that woman really was sent by someone who wanted to take me down, I would make sure she learned her lesson.
I reached for the bathrobe hanging beside the door. Then another fragment of memory surfaced.
“Fuck! I almost slept with her in the car,” I muttered.
I put on the bathrobe and walked out of the bathroom. I needed to confront that woman.
I thought that when I stepped out of the bathroom, she would immediately throw herself at me.
But she didn’t.
She simply sat calmly at the edge of the bed, watching me.
I walked closer, and only then did I notice something.
That woman was nervous.
From this distance, I could see her fingers gripping the bedsheet tightly. Was she afraid?
I almost laughed at the thought because with every step I took closer to her, her shoulders became more tense.
I deliberately pushed her until she fell back toward the center of the bed. My hand pulled her waist upward.
“Ah!” she gasped.
Damn.
Her voice was dangerously seductive.
If it weren’t for my suspicions, I would have already taken this woman.
I had to stay cautious, even though her body was undeniably tempting in my eyes.
Her breasts were the perfect size, not too large, not too small. I could already imagine how satisfying it would feel to touch her.
I remembered the taste of her lips when I kissed her.
They were incredibly sweet.
Fuck.
I wanted to kiss her again right now.
My head lowered toward her as my lips moved closer to hers. She slowly closed her eyes.
Damn, it was adorable.
But then I came back to my senses.
I couldn’t do this.
What if this woman was dangerous to me?
I pushed her down roughly onto the bed.
She looked startled, her eyes blinking in confusion.
“Why?” she asked, her voice trailing off.
“I admit your courage impressed me. But it won’t work on me. Tell me who sent you!”

((Zara Lang))The abandoned warehouse in Kirell reeked of rusted metal. Dust coated every surface, making it feel like the perfect place to dump a body.I was already crouching beside the corpse, examining every inch of a wanted fugitive. According to the forensic team's report, his name was Markov, a Russian drug kingpin."Cause of death?" I asked one of the forensic investigators. The man removed his latex gloves before answering, "We can't determine it yet."I raised an eyebrow."No stab wounds or gunshot wounds?" I asked again. He shook his head."What about blunt force trauma? Any fractures?""None. His bones are intact. There are no signs of struggle on his hands or beneath his fingernails."I paused to think."What if he was strangled?" I suggested, considering another possibility."There are no bruises on his neck. His hyoid bone appears intact as well, but we'll need to confirm that during the autopsy."After hearing the forensic report, I shifted my gaze to Markov's face. Hi
((Reins Eiser))I had no idea why I asked that question.Something about her still didn't sit right with me. I couldn't shake the feeling that she didn't belong in this bar. Yet after checking her profile, everything matched perfectly. Her photo, her personal information, even her home address.I'd already ordered Reynald to investigate her. He found nothing suspicious.Just the truth.Arabella Baker, known as Bella. Twenty-four years old. Born in Greyford. Currently living in a shared house on the outskirts of Arven City."Why were you looking for me, Mr. Eiser?" she asked softly, her voice drawing closer.Without hesitation, she sat beside me. One of her hands slowly reached toward me."Don't touch me."My warning stopped her immediately. She obediently withdrew her hand before picking up the whiskey bottle instead. She poured another drink into my glass.So... she was trying to get me drunk again, just like yesterday. Not happening.I placed the glass back on the table without taki
((Reins Eiser))One thing I hated about Lucas Stone was how effortlessly he managed to calm me down. Still, I couldn't deny that he was exceptionally good at running the company."Every order has been carried out exactly as instructed, Mr. Eiser," he said, offering me a firm handshake.I accepted it. White Wolf Holdings was the perfect company for this operation."Make sure everything is spotless," I said in a low, measured voice. "Don’t make a mistake."Lucas gave a respectful nod.The meeting ended quickly. As always, Reynald escorted me to the private exit. That was when I saw her. The woman. The hostess from the nightclub I frequented. She actually thought a pair of glasses was enough to keep me from recognizing her.Who the hell was she?She even knew about my connection to White Wolf Holdings. Now I was even more curious about who had sent her.I let her follow me, for now.Reynald opened the car door for me, but it seemed he'd noticed her presence as well."We're being followed
((Zara Lang))It was Friday morning, and I was still in the same spot.I sat in the passenger seat of Danny's Jeep, my eyes fixed on the towering headquarters of White Wolf Holdings.Danny let out a long sigh.“You're about to burn a hole through that building, Z,” he said sarcastically.I blinked. Danny and I had been watching the company for three days now. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Everything operated just like any other major corporation.“Are you sure this company is connected to Reins Eiser?” I murmured.“If you're asking me, my answer is I don't know. I'm only here because this was your idea, remember?”Danny started grumbling again. All he'd told me was that every victim had some kind of connection to Double W.I was the one who jumped to the conclusion that they had to be involved, just like Eiser.“Zara, I know I'm your subordinate, but acting on nothing but intuition isn't exactly how we do things.”I knew that. The truth was, I just couldn't let go of my frustrat
((Zara Lang))What else am I supposed to do?That question had been circling in my head for the past thirty minutes. It was infuriating. I was still angry.Failure wasn't anything new to me when it came to missions. But for some reason, this failure stung far more than the others. Eiser had gotten under my skin like no one else.I jabbed the elevator button harder than necessary, as if taking out my frustration on it. My blood was still boiling. Just thirty minutes ago, a devastatingly handsome man looked like he wanted me more than anything. Then that same man threw me away.God.I growled inwardly.I had been so close to getting Eiser to let his guard down. Just a little longer, and I could have started digging for information about where he kept the evidence of all his crimes.I was also convinced he was behind the string of serial killings that had dominated the news lately. Every victim had one thing in common—they were all connected to Eiser. There was the city's biggest drug kin
(Zara Lang)There was a long silence between Eiser and me.I froze when he suddenly asked in his hoarse voice, “Tell me who sent you!”I saw his jaw tighten, and for a moment, I thought Eiser was going to do something. My heart pounded violently. I immediately became alert.Eiser straightened his body, walked to the side of the room, grabbed his clothes, and put them on.I was still stunned. What was this?Nothing happened?Or was he just letting me breathe for a moment before finally destroying me?I let out a heavy sigh.I should not have let him go to the bathroom earlier. I should have acted quickly without giving him time to regain his senses.I guessed he had soaked himself with cold water in the bathroom to wash away the effects of the alcohol. I regretted how foolish I had been about alcohol.I knew for certain that Eiser was now trying to regain control of himself so he would not make a mistake. I admitted it—he had won this round. He had even accurately judged me and figured
