🖤 Alexandra 🖤

“She’s pregnant, President.” That was the first thing I heard when I tried to open my eyes.

And honestly… God help me because why did my entire body feel like I got hit by a truck, reversed over, and then hit again for emphasis.

My head was pounding, my limbs felt heavy, and for a second I just lay there wondering if dying quietly would be a better option than dealing with whatever nonsense was happening around me.

“Are you certain about this, Felix?” I recognize that voice instantly, even if am in hell I can tell that was my papa’s voice.

Calm but not calm. The kind of calm that usually meant someone was about to get their life rearranged.

“Yes, President,” the other voice replied quickly.

Felix~~~ the unlucky man.

“You can leave.” Dada responded this time in his normal short and dangerous tone.

Okay… yeah… something was definitely wrong.

I forced my eyes open slowly, blinking against the light like I had just been dragged back into existence against my will.

The room came into focus.

White walls.

Medical equipment.

IV drip.

Oh… Fantastic… Hospital.

My favorite place.

I groaned softly and pushed myself up on the bed, ignoring the way my head protested like it had personal issues with me moving.

“What happened?” I asked, my voice rough.

Because the last thing I remembered was standing at that ridiculous wedding, watching my twin brother act like the main character in a love movie.

Jayden kissing Sammy at the altar.

People crying like it was some emotional scene, Me judging everyone. Then… nothing.

Wait.

Did I faint? Because of all ghat cringe moments?

No.

Impossible. I refuse to believe that, I didn’t even faint when I took a life.

“You didn’t tell us you were in a relationship.” Papa’s voice pulled my attention back to him.

I turned my head slowly and looked at him.

Then at Dada. Both of them were standing way too close to my bed.

Way too serious and forced that tells me something is off.

Yeah… I didn’t like this.

“I asked what happened,” I repeated, narrowing my eyes slightly. Because something about this entire situation felt off. Dada stepped closer and sat beside me, taking my hand gently.

And that was when I knew.

Yeah.

This was bad.

Because Dada only got soft like this when he was trying very hard not to be violent.

“Princess,” he said, smiling at me.

That smile?

That was not a happy smile.nThat was a controlled smile. The kind that said someone somewhere was going to suffer soon.

“You are pregnant.”

Complete silence.

I stared at him. Then at Papa.nThen back at him again.

My brain took a moment to process what he just said. Then I laughed.

“I know it’s April,” I said, still laughing lightly. “But it’s not April Fool’s today.”

Because clearly this was a joke.nA very unfunny joke.nBut still a joke.nIt had to be.

Papa sat on the edge of the bed beside me, his expression serious.

“The doctor confirmed it, Alexandra.”

I blinked at him.nThen I laughed again louder this time.

“Okay,” I said, shaking my head. “That’s actually funny.”

Because what?

Pregnant?

Me?

I crossed my arms and leaned back slightly.

“I’m a virgin, Papa.” Silence again.

Dada’s fingers tightened slightly around my hand.

Papa didn’t move.

“I have never had sex,” I continued, looking between both of them like they had lost their minds. “Not even close. Not even a little bit. So unless something very illegal happened without my knowledge…”

I paused.

Then added calmly.

“Or I am suddenly the Virgin Mary and this is the next coming of baby Jesus…”

I gestured around the room.

“There is absolutely no way in hell I am pregnant.”

No one laughed.

Not even a smile.

Not even a small reaction.

Okay.

That was concerning.

Papa exhaled slowly and ran a hand through his hair.

“Alexandra,” he said carefully, “this is not a joke.”

“I know,” I replied immediately. “That’s why I’m trying to understand why we are having this conversation.”

Dada finally spoke again, his voice softer now but still carrying that edge underneath.

“The test was repeated,” he said. “Multiple times.”

I stared at him.

“No.”

“It was.”

“No,” I repeated, shaking my head. “That’s not possible.”

Because it wasn’t.

It literally wasn’t.

There was no scenario in this world where this made sense.

Unless…

No.

No.

I frowned slightly, trying to think back.

The wedding.

The crowd.

The noise.

I remember feeling… weird. A little lightheaded maybe. Then everything went black. I looked back at them.

“Okay wait,” I said slowly. “Let’s assume for one second that this is not a medical mistake.”

Papa nodded slightly.

“Okay.”

“Then explain to me,” I continued, my voice calm but sharp now, “how I got pregnant without doing the one thing that actually causes pregnancy.”

Silence.

Again.

Why was there so much silence today?

I looked between both of them.

And then I saw it.

That look.

Oh.

Oh hell no.

Papa sighed.

Dada didn’t say anything.

“Papa,” I said, my voice dropping slightly. “Are you both trying to prank me because I said I never get married?”

He hesitated.

Which was already a problem.

Because Papa never hesitated.

Not like this.

“Princess you know you can tell us if you had a one nightstand or something because there no way in hell you are pregnant yet claiming virginity,” he said slowly.

I blinked.

“One night stand?”

“Yes.”

I stared at him. Then I leaned back against the bed and laughed again.

“I think you both are taking this prank a little too far” I said this time the fake smile and laughter gone.

Such a brilliant start, Amaka. Is this another Dada pregnancy scenario; but Jayden Snr and Alex did have a one night stand.

  • Chaos Is My Crown   Author note

We did it. 🤍 Alexandra finally got her happily ever after. After everything. Thank you so much for giving this book a chance and staying with me until the very last page. As a writer, I can’t fully describe how much that means to me. For the past four months, Alexandra and Jacob have lived in my heart, and somehow they found a home in yours too. Thank you for showing up chapter after chapter, laughing with them, crying with them, getting angry with them, and loving them even when I put them through absolute chaos. To every single reader who left a comment, shared a theory, sent gifts, voted, or simply read quietly in the background, thank you. Every bit of your support mattered more than you know. Before you go, I have one small favour to ask. Please take a moment to return to the book’s main page and leave a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review. It may seem like a small thing, but reviews make a huge difference. They help new readers discover Alexandra and Jacob’s story, keep the book visible, and r

🖤Alexandra🖤He led me through the garden toward the rose garden at the far end of the estate. The one my Dada had planted years ago, before I was old enough to have opinions about roses, back when this house was louder and fuller and dada’s laugh was still a sound that existed in the world. Papa had never changed the flowers. He said some things deserved to remain exactly where love had left them. White roses and pink ones and soft red ones that Dada had always insisted looked happiest together, which was the kind of opinion only someone who genuinely loved things could have about flowers. When we reached the centre of the rose garden I stopped. The children were already there. All four of them, standing in a row with the uncharacteristic stillness of people who had been specifically asked to be still and were making their best effort. Mitchell beside Caleb. Papa under the roses instead of the oak tree, his newspaper gone, his hands folded in front of him. Jen, who never came to ga

🖤 Alexandra 🖤I had always believed that love came with a price and the biggest fallacy of all time. That was the first thing life taught me. If someone loved you, eventually they would leave. If they did not leave, they would be taken. If they were not taken, they would betray you. Love was temporary. Loss was permanent. For years I had built my entire life around that belief. Every company I built, every decision I made, every wall I put up, every sleepless night I worked through, every version of Alexandra Fisher Hale that the world feared had been constructed by a woman who simply refused to lose again. And then Jacob Grey happened… he forced his way into my life in the most craziest manner and sincerely I am grateful he did. His obsession gave me my babies and they mean the world to me.That was the part nobody in the self-help books warned you about. Not the first time love arrived, which was something people wrote entire libraries about. The second time he came into my life

🖤Jacob🖤I had never been this nervous in my life.Which was a significant statement given the life I had lived. I had walked into a building where a shooter was waiting. I had survived things that should have produced a permanent immunity to nerves. And yet.I was standing outside Papa’s study door in the Fisher Hale estate at ten in the morning, unable to knock. What if he said no.What if he looked at me across that desk and said no, and then I had to walk back out of this house and tell Lex, and the whole careful, improbable, extraordinary thing we had been building for the past several weeks collapsed because the man who had raised her also means the world to her and lost his partner to my sister’s plan decided that Jacob Grey had already cost this family enough. What if he hated me.The man had never sat at the same table with me since I moved myself into this house. But not eating meals with someone was different from handing them your daughter.I knocked.“Come in.”Papa wa

🖤Jacob🖤Dear lord~~~ how can she be this cute when she was angry.I knew better than to say that out loud. I had learned, over the time of living inside the Fisher Hale estate with varying degrees of official invitation, that there was a specific list of things you did not say to Alexandra Fisher Hale, and “you look cute when you’re angry” was somewhere near the top of it, probably right below “you remind me of your father when you do that” and “are you sure you need all seventeen of those files.”So I said nothing and watched her pace the kitchen the following morning while the coffee brewed and the children ate breakfast with the cheerful obliviousness of people who were five years old and had more important things to think about, like whose turn it was to pick what they watched after school.“I don’t want the properties,” Lex said.“Okay,” I said.“I don’t want the money.”“Okay.”“I don’t want anything that has Stella’s name attached to it.”“Okay.”She stopped pacing and looked

🖤Alexandra🖤“My intention was to kill your children.”I said the words out loud, alone in the living area, because hearing them in my own voice made them real in a way that watching Jacob’s face while he told me had not quite managed.Stella Grey had intended to kill my children. All of them. Not as a side effect. Not as collateral. As a strategy. A calculated coldly reasoned strategy in which four five year old human beings were a variable to be eliminated in order to produce a faster result from their father.Stella Grey had looked at those four children in her mind and decided they were useful leverage.“Fuck Stella,” I said, to the empty kitchen. “I hope you rot in hell.”It came out with more venom than I expected, which told me something about the distance between how I had been processing this situation intellectually and what was actually sitting in my chest underneath all the intellectual processing. I had spent two weeks thinking about Stella Grey with the careful, complic

🖤 Alexandra 🖤“You got married?”Jayden’s voice came through my phone so loud I had to pull it slightly away from my ear as I stood beside my car, one hand resting on the door handle, my mind already preparing for the war waiting inside the house, and somehow my twin screaming at me was not part

🖤 Alexandra 🖤The drive back felt different. 🖤Alexandra🖤“Papa I do hope he dies though,” I said slowly. The words came out calm, almost too calm, like I was talking about the weather and not a human life, and for a second the room went quiet in a way that made it clear even Papa didn’t expect me to say it that directly. He didn’t respond i
