Chapter 11

Luciana's POV

I turned my body away from Alpha Massimo, while my heart was screaming in agony. It still hurts, you know. But I keep that pain inside. I won't be showing any weaknesses from them, especially him.

The moment I stepped my feet backward, he spoke.

“You won't make my heart soften, Luciana Hart.”

I nodded my head and glanced at him with a fake smile.

“Well, I am not asking you to do so. And most of all, I am not interested in winning your heart. Being your mate is the biggest mistake of my life. Glad that you rejected me.” 

When I muttered these words at Massimo, I made sure my composure remained. I wanted him to see that I am not affected by everything he's telling me now. The pain is there, but I know how to manage it. I know how to control my emotions.

“Don't worry, Massimo. I will make sure your ex-mate is in good hands. I will take good care of her,” Klein interrupted, and with that, he started holding my hand.

I bit my lower lips, trying my best not to give in. This time, I didn't look at Massimo because I'm afraid that he might catch me pretending.

“Your suffering will not end here, Luciana. I will make sure that your life will be in living hell.”

My brows furrowed, slowly tilting my head to meet Massimo's gaze. He's not done yet. He really doesn't want to leave my life.

I smirked, “If you do that, this just proved that you're really affected, Massimo. Be careful with your words, or else you'll fall into my hands.”

Massimo chuckled, crossing his arms.

“In your dreams, Luciana. Did you really think someone like Massimo would fall for you? You're hallucinating!” Scarlet interrupted.

The corners of my lips lifted, while shaking my head.

“I was just reminding him. You know, too much hatred can lead to liking someone you hate the most. I feared that this would happen to Massimo, so I just reminded him.” 

Massimo's expression filled with disbelief as he looked at me. He couldn't believe my words.

“You're really expecting me to fall in love with you, don't you?” Massimo asserted. 

I smirked, “No, but I am expecting you to chase me back, My Alpha King.”

And then he started laughing as well as his friends and Scarlet's group. I just shake my head, watching them do that.

‘Laugh now, Massimo. Your eyes will shed tears when you start chasing me back,’ I muttered at the back of my head, while looking him straight in the eyes.

“I can't believe your hallucinations, Luciana,” Massimo responded, while shaking his head. “Is this the woman you wanted to have, Klein?”

“It's her pure heart that captures me, Massimo. You just let go of the woman who will love you for the rest of your life. I hope you won't regret it because when you start regretting, I am not letting you get close to her. She's mine already.”

I know these are all just part of our act, but why is it that I feel it's real?

But that can't be. Klein is doing this to make his brother's perception about women change. I should not be thinking that there's something else with his statement. 

“If there's someone who will regret at the end of the day, it's you, Klein. You made the wrong decision of being with that girl. She will bring you disaster.”

I only shook my head as Massimo continued to discourage Klein. He's really sincere about destroying my name, but I won't be affected anymore. I will just teach myself not to show my emotions from everything he will do to me. I will avenge myself secretly, without them knowing about it.

After that intense conversation, Massimo and his group leave us. I just followed him with a look until he disappeared from my eyes. 

A deep breath escaped out of my throat as I turned my head at my friends, who were still stunned from what happened.

“Luciana? Is there anything you're not telling us about?” Calista asked, disbelief still on her face.

I bend my head down as my way to compose myself. It's just too difficult to keep a secret towards my friends.

“I am courting Luciana.” Klein replied calmly.

They gasped as they looked at Alpha Klein. I bit my lower lips, slowly lifting my head.

“You're courting our friend, Alpha Klein? When did this start?” Aurora mumbled. 

“I started to feel something with Luciana the moment I saw her. Starting that day, I promise I won't let her go. If Massimo rejected her, then I won't.” Klein explained.

My friends still can't believe what they're hearing. They turned their heads at me, asking if I could say something to confirm Alpha Klein's words.

“Alpha Klein and I already met before. I haven't mentioned this to the both of you yet, but yes. He wanted to court me,” I agreed to Alpha Klein. 

My friends never said anything. They stayed looking at me but after a minute, I just heard them giggling in happiness. I just shook my head and let them show their emotions.

I have decided to tell them about the truth because I can't hide the truth from them. They are my friends after all.

“We are so happy for you, Luciana! Alpha Klein is better than Alpha Massimo!” Aurora giggles.

I chuckled while listening to them. My friends are sincere with their words and hearing those words, I couldn't help but feel guilty about it. There's no way I can hide anything from them.

At this point, I turned my head to my plants which were scattered everywhere. They were destroyed by Massimo's warriors and my heart almost shattered down. Growing them is not a hard thing for me. I can grow them in just less than a minute.

But what hurts me is the fact that they were hurt.

Trembling, I kneel in front of my destroyed plants. My friends stopped from talking when they noticed what I did.

“I will make sure to replace all of your plants, Luciana. I have known some gardeners and I—”

“I appreciate it, Alpha Klein, but there's no need to do that. My plants will be growing again, and I can take good care of it,” I responded, still looking at my plants. 

“I am really sorry for what Massimo had done to your boutique. He's really an asshole for doing this and if you don't want me to ask help from the gardener, let me just help you in—” 

“Just let her fix this, Alpha Klein. You will be surprised what she will do next,” Calista explained.

I just listened to their conversation at the back, while fixing all of my destroyed plants. And in just a blink of an eye and after touching them, it all started growing again like it never experienced being destroyed. 

I could hear a gasp from behind and I know this came from Alpha Klein. No one knows my hidden abilities, except my friends. And now, Alpha Klein witnessed it as well.
