Maybe she was being paranoid, but she had a feeling that someone was following after her. Min Yura did not turn back to check.
Ever since she had exited the convenience store, she could feel someone after her, and after all that happened, she naturally found herself being cautious of her surroundings.
There were high chances that she was merely overreacting.
Upon reaching the apartment complex, she finally turned back and did not spot anyone behind her. Shaking her head, she entered into the building.
Even if something was going on, she wasn’t planning to confide into someone. Knowing Yejoon’s nature, he would probably never let go of her once he got to know of this.
Someone was most likely hired to keep on a eye on her. If that person held murderous intent, there was nothing she would be able to do against it.
She might be able to get help from Yejoon, and this will be solved if he got involved. But right now, she wasn’t planning to get him into anything until she stabilized himself totally.
This was something she swore to herself and wanted to keep it until the end.
She wanted to gamble on her luck and life.
Although determined, it did not change the fact that she was scared. Extending her hand towards the door of the apartment, she opened it.
The scent of delicious food hit her right then, and creases appeared between both of her eyebrows. Earlier, Mirae mentioned that she wasn’t going to be home tonight.
Curiosity increased within her while she stepped into the kitchen.
Seeing the familiar back figure of the man caused her to fold her hands over her chest, and she questioned, “What are you doing here?”
Hearing her voice caused him to turn back to face her, and there was a smile that was present on his features. Taking a peek at all the food he had prepared for dinner caused hunger to gnaw at her.
“I wanted to see you,” he confessed.
She then looked at her watch and said, “Isn’t it too early for you to get off work and come here to cook?”
“Oh! There was nothing left to do in the office, and I am free these couple of days,” he answered.
Taking in a deep breath, she ran her hand through her hair. She did not exactly feel frustrated at his actions; it brought further ache to her.
At this point, she felt as if she was a mother who was about to cruelly abandon her child.
She knew how it wasn’t possible for him to take a vacation with his busy schedule, and for this, he was risking quite a lot.
That was how he was. When he is attached to someone, it was normal for him to give his everything to that mentioned person.
He would probably give her hundreds of millions of money if she asked for it.
She expressed, “You know, even if you do this, you can’t stop me from going.”
A sigh escaped from his mouth while he looked at the ground and stated, “I still don’t want to lose hope. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to make you stay here.”
Extending her hand towards him, she placed them on his shoulder and said, “You are really overreacting. I am not hiding from you. Listen to me clearly; I will return. I am not running away.”
“Why do you need this? If you want to go on a vacation, it’s fine. Why can’t you take me with you? I won’t bother you.”
“What’s the point of it if you come along with me?” Yura said, “I am telling you that both of us needs this time off.”
He took a step back from her, and raising his head, he questioned, “How do I know that you are not abandoning me?”
That caused her eyes to widen, and before she was able to say anything, he carried on, “Even if you say it’s about me, aren’t you just going to leave your past behind and forget about it.
But doesn’t that past include me as well? Isn’t this your way of indirectly dissolving the relationship between the two of us?
Even if you return after few months or a year, you would no longer feel the same way about me. By then, you will have a world of yours where I don’t matter at all!
His voice showed how unsettled his mood was.
Those insecurities of his wasn’t something she wasn’t aware of. But this outburst of his wasn’t something she had expected.
She became speechless. She wasn’t able to think what would be proper to say in this moment.
He wasn’t wrong; there was an intention within her to widen the gap between them. But breaking ties with him completely a different matter.
This was just because that were too close and dependent for each other’s good.
Before she was able to calmly explain that to the man, she noticed that he was no longer in the kitchen and realized that he had left the house.
Her heart started to beat rapidly while she immediately made her way over to the open door. This was the first time in a while she had seen him act this intensely, and she was afraid of what he was going to do.
Running outside of her apartment, she started to search through the neighborhood for signs of him. It seemed that he wasn’t picking up his phone either.
A groan left her mouth while she stood in front of the busy streets, and heavy breathings left her mouth. Since he hadn’t taken his car, he couldn’t have gone way too far.
But finding him in this crowd did not appear to be a easy thing. Pursing her lips into a thin line, she desperately prayed that the man would he perfectly fine.
That’s when, she spotted him, and relief spread through her seeing that he was all fine. She immediately made her way over to him when upon noticing something caused her eyes to widen.
Yejoon was absent minded while he walked forward, and without noticing the signs, he stepped on the road. Noticing the car that made its way over to him in a rush caused her to widen her eyes.
Her mind went blank right at that instant, and without being able to think clearly, she shouted his name. Rushing towards him, she hoped that she would be able to stop this.
Although her actions were impulsive and dangerous, she did not care about that right then. The only thing that was in her mind was Yejoon’s safety.
The last thing he could clearly recall was someone familiar shouting his name, and after that, his mind had gone completely blank. The face that he could remember brightly smiling was growing pale by each passing second while she laid on her arms. When he failed to notice that incoming car, he did not expect that she would come out of nowhere to push him out of the way only to end up this way due to her hasty decision. Blood dripped down from her forehead while he tightly hugged her figure. He wasn’t able to think straight at that moment. The only thought running in his mind was that he wouldn’t let go of this warmth. All of his senses went dull, and the people that gathered around both of them did not catch his attention. Although everyone was creating a ruckus around him, the sounds did not reach him. His body shook while he could feel the warmth leaving her body each second. He did not know what to do. He was willing to do anything to have her open her eyes. While he held her
“I think he feels way too guilty to enter,” she said, “Do you want to call him in?” Knowing his personality, Yura knew that he was blaming himself and voiced out, “Hmm.” She was aware now he wouldn’t be at peace until he saw her and had no intentions of making him suffer. “You know, wouldn’t it be better if you ignore him right now? Finally, there is a good enough reason for you two to separate. Looking at it right now, it doesn’t seem that he will approach you on his own.” Yura understood what Mirae was trying to mean. Probably she would be able to put distance between both of them if she utilized this time. Although that was really cruel, this could be her only chance to do this, and a part of her was trying to consider this. “How is his current state?” Yura asked. “It has been looking better,” Mirae answered, “It was way worse when you were unconscious. He would have probably lost his mind if something had happened to you.” Yura let out a sigh and stated, “I will consider wh
“Strange,” Mirae expressed while she stepped into the room. “He is not waiting for you today.” Hearing that caught Yura’s attention, and raising one of her eyebrows, she voiced out, “Is that so?” Mirae nodded her head and made her way over to Yura. Sitting beside her, she stated, “Aren’t you worried over it?” “Not exactly,” she replied, “he had been here for a long time and might have piled up a lot of work. It makes sense for him to be busy with work.” She would be lying if she mentioned that this did not make her anxious. Nonetheless, she preferred to think as positively as she could. Since things were all fine currently, she did not thing that he would be doing anything wrong. “The doctor mentioned about how you can be discharged within two to three days,” Mirae voiced out, “I was really looking forward to this trip. Too bad, it was cancelled. I don’t think I will be able to take another break from work.” “It’s fine,” she answered, “I can just go on one on my own.” Mirae sh
From his expression, she could judge that Ryu Yejoon wasn’t exactly willing to go through this, and because of her solemn gaze, he nodded his head. She noticed how a pout appeared on his face while he lowered his gaze to stare down. Reminding her of a puppy again, she extended her hand towards him and patted the top of his head. “Good boy,” she stated. Staring at her with a somewhat serious expression on his face, he stated, “Only one year. You wouldn’t be able to run away from me for more than that. If you try to, then I will tie you up and keep you by my side.” Instead of getting angered due to his words, she let out a chuckle and said, “How domineering! But since it is you, I accept. You are really cute when you are saying such things.” He stayed silent and let her brush his head further. This felt quite pleasant to him, and he wanted this to continue forever, which was surely possible. “Can you not go and visit Lee Youngjae? It doesn’t make me comfortable,” he expressed in a
Ever since he had informed her that this was her punishment, Min Yura wasn’t able to calm herself down. She wondered what could have gotten into him to turn her into an outcast. Min Jisoo gave her no space to come in contact with the man to ask about the details, and he ignored all of her messages. He prevented her entry to his mansion. At this point, she was desperate and did not know what to do. Due to the pranks pulled by her classmates today, she totally drenched. She was crouched down at the hallway while her body shuddered due to the low temperature. She felt quite chilly right now. But after how she had run away from them, there was no strength left in her legs, and she desperately sought for warmth at this moment. Right at that instant, she felt out someone their jacket on top of her, and having her wish come true surprised her. Immediately, she lifted her head, and her eyes fell on the man before. He was the root to all the problems that befell on her. But she was reall
But that peace did not last a long time for her. An occasion occurred where she had to visit Min Jisoo’s house for her father was invited, and this made her encounter with Ryu Yejoon inevitable. Knowing how her father was, Yura wasn’t able to reject it, and ever since that day, she was fearful of meeting Yejoon. Thinking that it would be best to let Youngjae know of it before visiting the mansion, that’s what she did. To her surprise, he did not prevent her from visiting and only mentioned to her to stay careful. Min Yura wasn’t foolish. She was well aware on how she was being tested by the man to see whether or not she was truly obedient. This wasn’t the first time this had happened after all. Despite how much it ached her chest to have him treat her in such a way, there was no helping this matter. She could merely comply. Like all the other times in this period of time, she was determined to ignore Ryu Yejoon. As long as she did that, he would be satisfied. However, it was get
Min Yura maintained a cheerful mood when she walked into the school building next day. Relief spread through her as she realized that no one was acting strangely with her. It seemed that Youngjae was not aware of what happened the previous day, and that was enough for the girl to feel at peace. The fear made it hard for Min Yura to sleep throughout the entire night. Although she was careful yesterday, there might have been somewhere she could have slipped. Last night, she really regretted her actions for approaching Yejoon. It was not like she was able to cause a change within Yejoon anyway. Nevertheless, everyone’s attitude more or less confirmed it to her that Youngjae wasn’t aware of it, and once she stepped into the classroom, she noticed how Youngjae was waving his hand at her. His smiling expression solidified everything for her. °°° The classes for the day had ended. Youngjae and she decided to return home together. While they walked through the almost empty outdoors of
Min Yura shivered due to the coldness spreading while she was inside the bathroom stall. Earlier some of the students drenched her with water and locked her inside. Although she tried to fight back, her strength was of use against them. Due to the influence they held, she knew that the door wouldn’t be opened any time soon, and this made her be scared. Of course, she knew that they were not outrageous enough to kill her, or it could be because how Youngjae did not want to be dead yet. There was a bleeding wound of her forehead due to being harshly attacked, and this made her feel dizzy. She could feel her consciousness slipping, and she had a feeling that sooner or later she was going to faint. Maybe that would be better since it meant that she wouldn’t have to deal with this any longer, and a part of her was really tempted to give in to it. But as she was about to close her eyes, the door in front of her opened all of a sudden, catching her by surprise. Due to it, a gasp escape
