“You have been already watching him for years,” he said, “you know, I am starting to think that you have some sort of feeling towards him.”
He extended his hand towards her and hugged her from the back. His words caused her eyes to widen for a while before she let out a chuckle.
Then, she teased, “What is that? Is that jealousy in your voiced?”
“Hmm,” he responded, “I get really scary when I am jealous. That’s why, don’t look at him anymore.”
In that moment, she merely took his words as a joke, and while a smirk formed on her face, she turned to face him.
Then, moving her hand forward, she pinched on to his cheeks and expressed, “Yes, yes, yes. I understand. Can you even be scary at the first place?”
Laughs left her mouth after that.
Taking that as opportunity, he moved his head closer to her and pecked on her lips softly. Taken aback by his actions, she pecked him on his cheek once he stood up straight.
“On a serious note, you have nothing to be jealous about. You are the only one who can make me feel this way,” she confessed, “but I suppose it is cute to see you be jealous once in a while.”

When Youngjae had left to communicate with the other adults, Yura found herself watching Yejoon again. At this point, this had turned to be a habit of hers.
She noticed how depressed his mood was when he saw Jisoo talk with other men and started to think of him as someone pitiful.
Throughout the entire time, she was clearly able to see how attached he was to Jisoo. If it was for Jisoo, there was nothing he wouldn’t be able to do.
He immensely loved Jisoo.
But being close with Jisoo, Yura knew that Jisoo did not have that sort of feelings towards him. She viewed him as her younger brother.
Yura was aware of how terrible Jisoo’s state was, and although Jisoo did not indulge her on the details, after seeing Jisoo talk with those men, she knew that everything wasn’t as simple as it was on the surface.
But although it causes her heart to be at pain every time she encounters such a scene, she was completely helpless. It deeply saddened her that there is nothing she is able to do for her closest friend.
She was aware of how Yejoon shares the same sentiments as her. No, his emotions were way worse than her. From that intense gaze, she was able to guess that it was slowly killing from inside.
The only thing she was able to do right now was to pray for two of them to get a happy ending at the end. That would be enough to satisfy her.
When one of the men placed his hand on Jisoo’s hand, Yura clenched her hand tightly. There was a persistent urge within her to move forward and punch that man on the face.
Pursing her lips into a thin line, she took in a deep breath and tried to compose herself when she noticed Yejoon’s countenance.
She realized how the man had become completely pale, and frown was visible on her feature. He felt sick when he turned his back and started to leave.
Seeing that caused a sudden urge to develop within her. After glancing at Youngjae once, she saw the deep conversation he was holding with the men.
Knowing that it would take him a while, she decided to follow after Yejoon. It wouldn’t hurt to take to check up on him.
She wasn’t able to describe the emotions that went through her. It was somewhere between concern and curiosity.
°°°
After slipping out of that party, she searched around for the signs of the man. A smile formed on her features when she finally spotted him standing under the tree.
She noticed how his shoulders were slouched while he stared at the ground. That caused her chest to tighten painfully.
Even though she planned to watch him from the back initially, now she wasn’t able to resist the urge to take a step forward towards him.
She placed a hand on his shoulder.
He immediately slapped her hand away while turning back to face her. Her eyes widened when she noticed the tears that glistened at the corner of his eyes.
She just stared at him silently, feeling bad for him.
“What are you looking at!? Get lost!” he yelled defensively.
“You know, I can’t leave someone alone when they are looking this pitiful. If you want to cry, I can lend you my shoulder. That would be better than crying alone. What Jisoo is going through his terrible, and it breaks my heart as well.
Probably your feelings are much stronger than mine, but aren’t we both on the same page? It will be great to comfort each other.”
Right then, the image she had of him was a young man who had met with immense sadness. There was a kind of innocence present in his eyes.
This lead her to extend her hands towards him and pull him into a hug. She then patted his back softly in order to provide him with warmth.
Even though he did not show any attempt to hug her back, he leaned his head against her shoulder, and for then, that was enough.
Back then, she had failed to notice the pair of eyes that glared at both of them; she remained oblivious to the grand consequences that might come with this.
°°°
The day that caused him to be provoked was still clear in her mind. It wasn’t because of the trauma that followed after it.
The reason for it was Yejoon.
Maybe it took a much longer than that for her to actually have a friendship with him, but that’s when, the special bond between them had started.
She felt her hand being pulled, and turning back, she noticed that Yejoon was wide awake now. Bringing her palm over to his mouth, he softly kissed on it.
When it came to Yejoon, she couldn’t consider these actions to be intimate or in that light. She knew that this was his own way of reassuring and comforting himself.
With a cheerful mood, Yura started to pack the luggage. Finally, she had settled on a destination for the trip and was quite excited about it. After all, this was her first time experiencing something like this. “Are you really fine with leaving that puppy at here?” Mirae questioned. Placing her clothes inside the luggage, she raised one of her eyebrows while she turned back to Mirae, questioning what she was trying to imply. “Don’t try to act oblivious. You know who I am talking about. I am afraid that man will get a panic attack. Did you see the amount of times he called and texted you? He even started to bother me right now. What have you done to the Ryu Yejoon?” Taking in a deep breath, Yura ran her hand through her hair and voiced out, “Don’t worry! I have gotten it all under my control. He might act like that in the beginning, but after a period of time, he will be fine. Isn’t it an improvement that he is not coming to meet me?” “That’s because you made him promise him tha
Maybe she was being paranoid, but she had a feeling that someone was following after her. Min Yura did not turn back to check. Ever since she had exited the convenience store, she could feel someone after her, and after all that happened, she naturally found herself being cautious of her surroundings. There were high chances that she was merely overreacting. Upon reaching the apartment complex, she finally turned back and did not spot anyone behind her. Shaking her head, she entered into the building. Even if something was going on, she wasn’t planning to confide into someone. Knowing Yejoon’s nature, he would probably never let go of her once he got to know of this. Someone was most likely hired to keep on a eye on her. If that person held murderous intent, there was nothing she would be able to do against it. She might be able to get help from Yejoon, and this will be solved if he got involved. But right now, she wasn’t planning to get him into anything until she stabilized him
The last thing he could clearly recall was someone familiar shouting his name, and after that, his mind had gone completely blank. The face that he could remember brightly smiling was growing pale by each passing second while she laid on her arms. When he failed to notice that incoming car, he did not expect that she would come out of nowhere to push him out of the way only to end up this way due to her hasty decision. Blood dripped down from her forehead while he tightly hugged her figure. He wasn’t able to think straight at that moment. The only thought running in his mind was that he wouldn’t let go of this warmth. All of his senses went dull, and the people that gathered around both of them did not catch his attention. Although everyone was creating a ruckus around him, the sounds did not reach him. His body shook while he could feel the warmth leaving her body each second. He did not know what to do. He was willing to do anything to have her open her eyes. While he held her
“I think he feels way too guilty to enter,” she said, “Do you want to call him in?” Knowing his personality, Yura knew that he was blaming himself and voiced out, “Hmm.” She was aware now he wouldn’t be at peace until he saw her and had no intentions of making him suffer. “You know, wouldn’t it be better if you ignore him right now? Finally, there is a good enough reason for you two to separate. Looking at it right now, it doesn’t seem that he will approach you on his own.” Yura understood what Mirae was trying to mean. Probably she would be able to put distance between both of them if she utilized this time. Although that was really cruel, this could be her only chance to do this, and a part of her was trying to consider this. “How is his current state?” Yura asked. “It has been looking better,” Mirae answered, “It was way worse when you were unconscious. He would have probably lost his mind if something had happened to you.” Yura let out a sigh and stated, “I will consider wh
“Strange,” Mirae expressed while she stepped into the room. “He is not waiting for you today.” Hearing that caught Yura’s attention, and raising one of her eyebrows, she voiced out, “Is that so?” Mirae nodded her head and made her way over to Yura. Sitting beside her, she stated, “Aren’t you worried over it?” “Not exactly,” she replied, “he had been here for a long time and might have piled up a lot of work. It makes sense for him to be busy with work.” She would be lying if she mentioned that this did not make her anxious. Nonetheless, she preferred to think as positively as she could. Since things were all fine currently, she did not thing that he would be doing anything wrong. “The doctor mentioned about how you can be discharged within two to three days,” Mirae voiced out, “I was really looking forward to this trip. Too bad, it was cancelled. I don’t think I will be able to take another break from work.” “It’s fine,” she answered, “I can just go on one on my own.” Mirae sh
From his expression, she could judge that Ryu Yejoon wasn’t exactly willing to go through this, and because of her solemn gaze, he nodded his head. She noticed how a pout appeared on his face while he lowered his gaze to stare down. Reminding her of a puppy again, she extended her hand towards him and patted the top of his head. “Good boy,” she stated. Staring at her with a somewhat serious expression on his face, he stated, “Only one year. You wouldn’t be able to run away from me for more than that. If you try to, then I will tie you up and keep you by my side.” Instead of getting angered due to his words, she let out a chuckle and said, “How domineering! But since it is you, I accept. You are really cute when you are saying such things.” He stayed silent and let her brush his head further. This felt quite pleasant to him, and he wanted this to continue forever, which was surely possible. “Can you not go and visit Lee Youngjae? It doesn’t make me comfortable,” he expressed in a
Ever since he had informed her that this was her punishment, Min Yura wasn’t able to calm herself down. She wondered what could have gotten into him to turn her into an outcast. Min Jisoo gave her no space to come in contact with the man to ask about the details, and he ignored all of her messages. He prevented her entry to his mansion. At this point, she was desperate and did not know what to do. Due to the pranks pulled by her classmates today, she totally drenched. She was crouched down at the hallway while her body shuddered due to the low temperature. She felt quite chilly right now. But after how she had run away from them, there was no strength left in her legs, and she desperately sought for warmth at this moment. Right at that instant, she felt out someone their jacket on top of her, and having her wish come true surprised her. Immediately, she lifted her head, and her eyes fell on the man before. He was the root to all the problems that befell on her. But she was reall
But that peace did not last a long time for her. An occasion occurred where she had to visit Min Jisoo’s house for her father was invited, and this made her encounter with Ryu Yejoon inevitable. Knowing how her father was, Yura wasn’t able to reject it, and ever since that day, she was fearful of meeting Yejoon. Thinking that it would be best to let Youngjae know of it before visiting the mansion, that’s what she did. To her surprise, he did not prevent her from visiting and only mentioned to her to stay careful. Min Yura wasn’t foolish. She was well aware on how she was being tested by the man to see whether or not she was truly obedient. This wasn’t the first time this had happened after all. Despite how much it ached her chest to have him treat her in such a way, there was no helping this matter. She could merely comply. Like all the other times in this period of time, she was determined to ignore Ryu Yejoon. As long as she did that, he would be satisfied. However, it was get
