Settled

With a cheerful mood, Yura started to pack the luggage. Finally, she had settled on a destination for the trip and was quite excited about it. After all, this was her first time experiencing something like this.

“Are you really fine with leaving that puppy at here?” Mirae questioned.

Placing her clothes inside the luggage, she raised one of her eyebrows while she turned back to Mirae, questioning what she was trying to imply.

“Don’t try to act oblivious. You know who I am talking about. I am afraid that man will get a panic attack.

Did you see the amount of times he called and texted you? He even started to bother me right now. What have you done to the Ryu Yejoon?”

Taking in a deep breath, Yura ran her hand through her hair and voiced out, “Don’t worry! I have gotten it all under my control.

He might act like that in the beginning, but after a period of time, he will be fine. Isn’t it an improvement that he is not coming to meet me?”

“That’s because you made him promise him that! Why don’t you get him to promise you to not text or disturb you or something similar?”

“I can’t be that cruel. Oh yeah! Don’t ignore his calls or texts, alright? He would actually get into a panic attack if you do that,” she informed.

The only thing Mirae was able to do was release a sigh.

“Why do I have to deal with that!?”

She groaned.

After that, she looked away from Yura and left the room. Seeing that caused Yura to start laughing before she fell back on the bed.

Opening her phone, she noticed all the texts Yejoon had sent her, and a smile formed on her face.

“What? Is work too easy for him?” she mumbled.

Noticing that her phone started to vibrate all of a sudden, she noticed that there was a call from Yejoon and received it immediately.

“I remember when you barely had time to do things other than work. Could it be that you have a lot of free time in your hand just because everything is dealt with?” she voiced out in a teasing tone.

“I just missed you,” he expressed before questioning, “What are you doing?”

“Me? I just started to pack. The flight is on this Sunday. Will you come to send me off?”

“Aren’t you being really cruel?” he asked. His tone was deriding.

“You are making me feel really guilty right now. This is just a small trip yet you are making it seem as if I am permanently cutting off my connections from you,” she said, “What am I going to do when you are this clingy?”

“Every moment without you feels like a forever to me,” he expressed, “Don’t you feel pity for me?”

“You are actually using that card? What about the proud Yejoon I used to know?” she commented, “For your information, it is because I care for you that I have to give you this time alone.”

“Liar,” he refuted, “If you cared about me, you would be by my side, comforting me.”

At this point, Yura had lost count of how many times both of them had similar conversations. Every time he called, he brought up the same matter.

But that did not mean that she could ignore his calls. Every time she was determined to do it, imagining his face in her mind made it impossible for her to do so.

Moreover, if he kept bugging her daily, maybe she would actually get swayed and change her mind. This was way too dangerous.

“Don’t you have work to do? Your company will go bankrupt if you don’t pay attention to it,” she said, “I will talk to you later, and don’t call me during your office hours unless it is important.”

“This is—”

Before he was able to continue further, she hung up on the call and shook her head while she stared at her phone. He was really like a child who wanted to be spoiled.

That’s what made him endearing to her.

°°°

Ryu Yejoon had a frown on his face while he went through the documents. The tense atmosphere around him affected his secretary.

Noticing how dark the mood of his boss was, Secretary Han Jinyoung carefully took step forward, and with his hand visibly shaking, he held up the documents.

Then mustering up his courage, he stated, “Boss, here are some documents you need to work on.”

Yejoon glared at the man while he raised his head, and a chill travelled down Jinyoung’s back. A feeling within him told him that he had aggravated his boss further.

Of course the reason behind that was not clear to him.

“Why did I hire so many people if I have to do everything on my own at the end? All of you get paid for no reason. Maybe I should lay some of you off,” Yejoon aggressively shouted.

This caused Jinyoung’s eyes to widen while he felt terrified. This was the first time he had seen the boss show such an attitude towards work, and it was as if he was time ticking bomb.

Then, something came to his mind, and he voiced out, “CEO Ryu, if you want a vacation, you can take one. The work load right now is much less, and we will be able to handle it.”

That caused Ryu Yejoon to close the document abruptly, and pushing the chair back, he stood up. For a second there, Jinyoung was able to notice how his boss’ mood turned better even though it was still frightening to him.

“I was planning to do that,” Yejoon stated.

With that, Yejoon walked out of the office arrogantly, and only after he had left, Jinyoung was able to release a breath of relief.

Then, noticing the urgent documents that needed his approval caused his eyes to widen and fall into a dilemma about whether or not he should call the man back.
