Ninth Run

It was early morning, but Liam still couldn't sleep. He wet the towel he was putting on Brandon's forehead several times because it dries quickly. The flickering lights did not help either. Because the light wasn't that strong and he couldn't create a strong light so that the mindless creatures outside wouldn't notice them, Liam had a hard time moving. He's used to this setup; yes, that's because he takes care whenever one of his siblings gets sick. But that was on normal days. What is happening now is not normal; how will he act?

Liam's restless from the unsettling sounds coming from the outside; he couldn't sleep and might as well watch the sick person. He glanced at Brandon, who lay on his side on the makeshift bed, his face creased with discomfort. It was obvious that he was struggling at the height of his fever.

"Brandon, are you feeling okay?" Liam asked. Concern could be heard in his voice.
