Chapter 1

I have been exhausted by the sudden event that happened earlier. He let me go but he warned me to never hide anywhere since he will find ways to search for me. I hate this life. Out of the blue I needed to marry someone. I will never let anyone dictate my life.

“How's Dad?” I asked my Mommy. She looks so tired from taking care of my father, I knew that feeling since I also took care of Dad the whole day when my Mom wasn't around.

“He's fine now. We should just follow the advice of the doctors, he will take medicines and have regular checkups. I don't know where we will get enough money to pay for all the expenses.” She's crying right now. I comfort her and I almost jump in horror when my old phone rang to life.

“Hello? Who's this?” I asked since it was an unknown caller. I just heard a gasp from the other line so I asked again.

“It's me. We needed to get married as soon as possible.” I shivered when I heard that familiar voice. That man! God, I thought that was just a prank, how the hell did he get my number?

“Don't ask me how did I get your number. I have ways.” He said sounded so bored. What the hell with this guy?

“I don't want to marry you! Never!” I shout and I hang up. I have many problems to consider and he's not my priority. He's just a piece of assh*le.

I went out of the hospital to find cheap food, the food that the hospital offers is so expensive. I was about to enter the cheap fast food when someone grabs me and made me smell the handkerchief he was holding until everything went black.

I heard some voices talking, I open my eyes and I saw a man in black. I scream but I realized that they cover my mouth and I was tied up. What the hell with these scumbags. Who the hell they are? I'm just a poor citizen in this country and yet they kidnapped me? For what? Ransomed? They will get nothing from my parents! We can't even pay our hospital bills!

I heard powerful footsteps across the room. They all bow down to someone who comes right now, my eyes widen when I saw the familiar man in front of us. He's the guy I met across the street. He's the one who offered marriage to me.. he's that bipolar guy!

He came closer to me and he look straightly into my eyes and he removed the cover of my mouth. He smells so good, what is his perfume?

“My fiance.” He said while smirking. My heart beats so fast, he looks so dashing. He loves to wear dark clothes.

“Fiance your face!” I hardly said to his face. His face became serious and cold, and he stood up and untie my arms. I felt the pain in my arms. Damn, those men in black.

“I will get you by force or not? You will still marry me.” He said with finality.

“Why the hell me? You can get any woman you want! I needed to sustain my family! I have problems to face, please let me go. My family needs me, I need to find money to pay all the hospital bills. I don't have much time for these nonsense stupid jokes.” I said while crying. I'm so exhausted. I don't know what to do and yet this stuff happens.

“Money. I have money to provide for your needs and desires. In exchange, you will marry me.” My eyes widen in disbelief. He will offer me money to marry him?

“If you reject my offer, it's your loss. You need money and I offer it but you need to marry me, as simple as that. No string attached.” He said.

“No string attached? How long we will stay in the marriage?” I asked. He seems like he's thinking about my questions.

“Two years or less.” He said coldly.

“Deal.” I closed my eyes the moment I said that word. I know I'm in trouble, but I need to grab this opportunity to help my parents, to sustain my family. If I let this opportunity slip from my hands, it felts like I abandoned my own family.

My Dad needs me. This is the only way that makes him feel better. I will do this for them, even if it will lose my dignity as a woman to have the power to make decisions.

He brought me to his mansion. My eyes widen in bliss when I saw how beautiful the place is. He's so rich, maybe he needs me to inherit his family's business or whatsoever reasons. I don't care as long as I will get the money I need.

He left me in the mansion's living room. Some maids accompanied me to my designated room. They offer me clothes so that I can change. I took a long bath since I enjoyed the luxury of this bath tab with petals of flowers. I love the scented candles. It's so unfair that they can do whatever they want. But the poor people don't even get a normal life where they wouldn't have difficulty finding a decent meal to eat three times a day.

But I don't blame the rich people, most of them work hard to get their position in life. What pains me the most is those people who stole money from unfortunate people. I had a hard time finishing my studies because lack of finances. Eventually, I worked hard and I finished my degree.

Life is still unfair, although I have the opportunity to find a decent job. They won't accept me because of my lack of experience. How can I get experience when I'm just a fresh graduate? They don't understand that a fresh graduate needed a job to have experience. They're so doomed.

While I was ranting, I heard a knock on the door.

“Sir Canon wants you to eat dinner with him downstairs.” One of the maids informed me. I panicked and I slipped on the slippery floor of the bathroom. My back is in so much pain.

I walked like a penguin while holding my back. Some of the maids want to laugh at me. When I reached the dining hall, Canon is confused when he saw me walking.

“Stupid.” He muttered to himself. I slammed the table and he was so shocked as well as the maids. They were so afraid and left me alone with Canon. What the hell Canon is his name? I heard from the maid.

I realized what I have done and I laugh awkwardly and gently touches the table.

“It's just a joke hehe,” I said while smiling awkwardly. His face is cold and serious right now.

“Get out of my sight!” He shouted. I jump on my feet and left the dining hall. I ran as fast as I can. I heard my stomach growl due to starvation.

It's like I will skip dinner tonight.
