Her dress and lingerie lay scattered on the floor, shaded along with the room by blades of silvery light of the moon that cut through the thin curtains. Only the soft glowing light of the bedside lamp stood in contrast, painting the allure of a dirty romantic night.

Having polished her make-up and musking herself in sensual fragrance and lipstick, Selene hurried away from the mirror, jumping in bed and shifting into a seductive pose. The silk sheets whispered against her skin, causing her to stir excitedly.

Her heart drummed, each beat loud enough to drown out the faint laughter and music rising from the after-party below.

It was her son’s coming-of-age, but this day meant something else for her.

With a smirk, she tilted her head toward the door, listening and waiting. Any second now, he’d return.

Selene could picture him walking into the room, and eyeing her like a prized candy as she beckoned him to make love to her already.

‘ Kyle…’ The name alone sent a sweet shiver down her spine. Once again, being a nervous habit, Selene’s lips curled, part smile, part smirk.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. She wasn’t supposed to be this… desperate. Not for him. Not after everything. But she just couldn’t hold back any longer.

‘ What’s taking him so long, it’s just a glass of water.’ Selene leaned back on her elbows, letting the soft robe she’d thrown over her shoulders slide open just enough to reveal the smooth line of her supple bosom and soft, fair thighs. The faint scent of lavender from the bath she’d taken earlier still clung to her.

She’d planned this whole thing. Every single little detail, as though a strategist planning for battle. It indeed is a battle though, a battle for her desire.

Her son’s coming-of-age ceremony was the perfect excuse to return to the pack after having spent so many years away. And tonight, with the moon high and the wine still warm on her tongue, she was going to take what she wanted.

She dragged her teeth over her bottom lip, the thought of the things she’d had to do just to get here spun in her mind, making her feel nothing less a slut. Kyle’s slut!

‘ Ah!’ Selene shuddered and clasped her thighs tight at this thought, grinning at her wetness. The feeling was intoxicating. It drove her mad, and insatiably wanting. Just the right rush she needed in her life.

Years ago, she’d been too blind, too stubborn, to see what was in front of her. She’d chosen someone else over Kyle-- someone she thought would give her the life she wanted. Instead, she’d ended up with a child and a pile of broken promises. And when the boy’s father walked out, Selene had been left to scrape by alone.

Life was tough for her and her son, and when her old friend, Jenna visited and showed her Kyle’s transformation, telling her how he was now a hot catch for many beauties, Selene was left in disbelief and didn’t know how to feel.

Kyle used to be her ugly obsessed mutt; her white knight who couldn’t breathe without her. He was her mate whom she’d first recognized during her younger age. However, she didn’t fancy him in the slightest and had opted for her baby daddy.

After all, he was dirty, awful-looking and was so tasteless back then. But recently, he’d become so hot and successful while she suffered in loneliness and debts. It didn’t feel quite fair, and Selene had regrets. But more importantly, Kyle’s sudden change had surprised Selene, so much that she became curious about him.

She’d followed his socials and quite surprisingly, he was still single and without a significant other.

After seeing how he lives nice and comfortably, Selene thought she could definitely find sanctuary in him. She’d thought of reaching out and rekindling their old spark, but Selene wasn’t as delusional.

Even though she truly believed Kyle still loved her, as deeply as in the past, she couldn’t bring herself to reach out to him. That would be embarrassing, she had thought.

The thought that such a guy used to dote on her and was now sought after by so many women became the need to validate her ego and pride.

At first, she planned to bait him into reaching out to her. She’d reacted to some of his posts online, confident that he’d come finding her. But to her surprise, he didn’t! He didn’t even try to text her!

Selene became worried, threatened that she’d lost the only upper hand she had in life. At first, she tried to brush it off, but the feeling persisted, pestering her even in her sleep.

This was how it all began.

Selene rolled onto her side now, fingers tracing the edge of her robe as she flashed a wistful smile. She remembered how she’d been so down in the dump just because Kyle wasn’t reaching out to her; so much that she started contemplating moving back to the pack residence. She slowly became obsessed, thinking of ways to get him to reach out.

However, all of her efforts proved futile, not even after multiple texts did he respond. At last, she had no other option but to find him!

In the end, the rent served an excuse and her son’s coming-of-age even a better one. Returning to her hometown had been humiliating. Everyone knew what she’d done-- how she’d rejected Kyle and left with another, only to return with a child.

But with the excuse that she’d only returned for her son’s coming-of-age ceremony, she managed to get just by.

However, even after arriving at her hometown, Kyle still didn’t come looking for her. But Selene didn’t mind, she only waited patiently and plotted.

Since he was now the Alpha, Selene knew he’d have to attend his son’s coming-of-age ceremony; after all, his son would have to swear his loyalty to the pack before him.

Though, just to be safe, Selene involved certain pack members, ensuring that Kyle being the alpha of the pack would have no choice but to attend.

And sure enough, he did!

When she’d seen him stride in through the door with that effortless authority, standing tall and broad-shouldered; his dark hair pushed back carelessly, the scars across his jaw only making him look more dangerous and desiring-- something in Selene’s chest had snapped.

Selene had felt a heat pooling between her thighs, but she knew it wasn’t just lust. It was something sharper, heavier. Her wolf yearned for him, feeling regret, desire, and pride. All tangled together into something foreign to her.

Right then and there, on the night of her son’s very coming-of-age ceremony, Selene was determined to do just what she’d never thought she would have done for any man.

She was going to chase and claim Kyle as hers!

  • Chasing the Alpha I Once Rejected    Figured it out

‎The drive to school was considerably quieter than usual.‎‎At least on Liam's side.‎‎Kyle noticed it almost immediately.‎‎The boy sat in the passenger seat staring out the window, occasionally shifting in his seat and then pretending he hadn't. Every few minutes, he'd let out a sigh for absolutely no reason before falling silent again.‎‎Kyle smirked.‎‎Liam was trying very hard to act normal. Unfortunately, Kyle had been a teenage boy once. He knew exactly what this looked like.‎‎"Nervous?"‎‎Liam nearly jumped, "What?"‎‎Kyle kept his eyes on the road,"You're nervous."‎‎"I'm not nervous."‎‎"Sure."‎‎"I'm not!"‎‎Kyle studied him briefly, then nodded solemnly."Of course, you're not. You're just silent for no reason."‎‎Silence.‎‎Liam didn't respond like he always would. ‎‎"You kissed a girl, Liam. You didn't start a war." Kyle said in the end.‎‎The boy slumped lower into his seat, sighing in defeat,"I know. But it just feels weird to face her after all that."

  • Chasing the Alpha I Once Rejected    Family

‎Morning sunlight spilled through the curtains in long golden streaks, painting Selene's bedroom in warm hues. For the first time in what felt like forever, she woke without anxiety squeezing her chest.‎‎The events of the past weeks felt distant now. Not gone, but quieter.‎‎Beside her, Kyle was still asleep.‎‎Selene turned slightly, studying his face. Even relaxed, there was something strong about him. The stubborn set of his jaw. The faint scar near his eyebrow. The way he seemed larger than the bed itself.‎‎A smile tugged at her lips.‎‎Carefully, she leaned over and pressed a soft kiss against his forehead.‎‎Kyle's eyelids fluttered, "This," he muttered sleepily, "is always a nice thing to wake up to."‎‎Selene laughed.‎‎Kyle opened one eye, "Morning, sweetie." he greeted.‎‎Selene rolled her eyes, but the smile remained, "Morning".‎‎Kyle stretched experimentally,"Hah! Now that was a night." ‎‎ Selene smiled, remembering the wildness of the night, "I know, right?

  • Chasing the Alpha I Once Rejected    That thing

‎Hidden behind the bushes near the lakeside, Selene and Kyle watched the entire exchange between Liam and Ivy unfold beneath the silver glow of the moon.‎‎The sight before them was simply too surreal.‎‎Liam and Ivy stood by the water's edge, their reflections stretching across the moonlit lake as they stumbled through confessions neither of them seemed fully prepared to make.‎‎Kyle wore an increasingly amused smile throughout the whole thing.‎‎Every now and then he would glance toward Selene.‎‎Selene, meanwhile, looked as though she wished the earth would open and swallow her whole.‎‎The second-hand embarrassment was almost unbearable. Especially because it involved her son. Nevertheless, she was no less proud.‎‎When Ivy finally declared that they should leave before their parents started looking for them and the pair disappeared back toward the festival grounds, silence settled over once more.‎‎For several seconds neither Kyle nor Selene spoke.‎‎A second later, Kyle

‎The walk to the lake was quieter than the festival.‎‎The further Kyle and Selene moved away from the crowds, the softer the sounds of celebration became. Music faded into the distance. Laughter became faint. Even the occasional howl from pack members celebrating beneath the moon seemed muted by the surrounding trees.‎‎Soon, only the gentle rustling of leaves and the chirping of insects accompanied them.‎‎The lake lay beyond a small grove, its waters calm and still beneath the night sky. Moonlight spilled across its surface like liquid silver, transforming the dark water into a shimmering mirror. Above, the full silvery moon hung impossibly large, casting an ethereal glow over everything it touched.‎‎Selene stopped. For a moment, she simply stared.‎‎"It really is beautiful." she said shortly after.‎‎Kyle looked at her rather than the lake, "I know."‎‎Selene noticed and just rolled her eyes immediately, "You know that's not what I meant."‎‎Kyle chuckled. She had missed

‎By sunset, the entire park had transformed into something straight out of a dream.‎‎Colorful ribbons fluttered from wooden posts, lanterns hung from tree branches, and long strings of decorative lights stretched across pathways despite the sun still being high in the sky. Music drifted through the air from various corners of the festival grounds while the smell of grilled meat, pastries, roasted nuts, and sweet syrup-coated treats mingled together in an irresistible blend. Everywhere Selene looked, people were smiling.‎‎Children raced through the crowd with painted faces. Teenagers clustered together around game stalls. Families occupied picnic blankets beneath the trees. Couples wandered hand in hand, already treating the festival as if the moon itself had arrived hours ahead of schedule.‎‎Standing in the middle of it all, Selene found herself momentarily lost. The last time she had attended a Full blue Moon-watching Festival, life had been so different.‎‎She had been younge

‎By the time Liam got home, the sun had already begun its slow descent toward the horizon, bathing the town in warm golden light. The streets outside glowed softly beneath the evening sky, and there was a strange excitement in the air that hadn't been there earlier in the week. ‎ ‎He barely had time to step through the front door before he heard movement upstairs. ‎ ‎"Mom?" ‎ ‎"I'm up here!" ‎ ‎Selene's voice floated down from the second floor. ‎ ‎Liam dropped his backpack near the entrance and headed up. When he reached the hallway, he found his mother standing in front of her bedroom mirror. ‎ ‎She was getting dressed. ‎ ‎Not in her usual work clothes nor in her stay-at-home clothes either. ‎ ‎She actually looked like she was preparing to go somewhere. ‎ ‎The realization made Liam pause. ‎ ‎Selene had changed into a simple but beautiful outfit that suited her perfectly. ‎ ‎A tight dark dress that reached her knees and a coat. Nothing too ex

“So,” Liam said, clearly eager to change the subject, “I made some new friends today. A girl named Ivy and this nerdy guy, Aaron. We’re gonna go to school together from now on.” Iam didn't like that at his big age, his mom still has to bring him to school.Selene raised a brow, a teasing smile form

‎Selene stood in front of the mirror longer than she should have, tilting her head this way and that, brushing down the silk dress Clara had insisted she wear.‎‎ It was a deep red dress, low enough at the neckline to make her second-guess herself, but not scandalous. ‎‎Her reflection didn’t loo

No matter how much one tries to ignore it, somehow, doubt always had a way of settling into hearts.‎‎Selene, still leaning by the kitchen counter, couldn't shake the doubt in her heart despite the fact that it's been a long while since Clara went upstairs. Despite having told herself that it didn

‎The door had barely clicked shut behind Aiden when Clara’s voice came shrieking from upstairs like a siren of chaos.‎‎"Did I just hear him ask you out on a date?!"‎‎Selene groaned, dragging her hand down her face. She turned slowly to find Clara already at the top of the stairs, leaning dramat
