Chapter 3

I was staring at the black wolf with confusion. "How is this happening?" I thought.

"Has the Moon Goddess blessed me with a second chance?" I wondered. "And who is this wolf?" I asked.

Snow said the black wolf's name was Hector, and she was all hyper and happy to see him. She went over to him and used her nose to brush his nose, and both of them started howling.

I quickly ran to the back of the bush to transform; I shifted and changed into my dress and saw that the black wolf had done the same.

As I saw who the black wolf was, I picked a race and ran to my room. "Why would the Moon Goddess pair me with an Alpha again?" I thought.

"What if he rejects me since he already has a chosen mate and Luna?" I was crying woefully when I heard a knock on my door.

I wiped my face and went to the door; my hands were shaking as I turned the knob because I thought he would be the one.

But Helen entered, and I sighed. "Why did you run out of the hall like that?" she asked. "I was not feeling well, nothing much," I answered her.

She moved over to me and touched my head. "You are burning up; have you found something to use?"

I told her yes to avoid further questions. "Alright, take good care of yourself. I just came to check up on you. I will be back later," she said, and then she left.

I went to the bathroom, took a cold shower, and came to bed to sleep.

I, Sebastian, Alpha of Silver Pack, reject you, Violet, as my mate. I, Violet, accept the rejection, I answered with a shaky voice.

"Please don't do this to me," I wept bitterly. I was sweating profusely; my heartbeat started beating faster and I jumped up.

That was when I realized it was just a bad dream.

I got up from my bed, took my bath, and changed into simple black trousers, a blue knitted sweater, and a pair of black sneakers.

I went to the breakfast diner and ate; I started getting different kinds of looks as I entered the dining room.

It was what I expected because my scent would have changed due to my wolf, and they would have smelled a different scent from me.

"The wolfless Wolf finally gets a wolf," Lisa sneered.

"The Moon Goddess decided to take pity on her,"

"I am sure her wolf is as weak as she is."

They all started saying different things, taking turns from one another, calling me different names and making jest of me. But I did not let it bother me; I just ate my food and left the diner.

It's been a week since I ran away from Sebastian, and I have been avoiding him like a plague. I was sitting in the garden, reading a book when Noah came to call me.

"The Alpha wants to see you now," he said.

I was going to the Alpha's office with him when different thoughts clouded my mind. My heartbeat started racing fast as we approached his office. I entered his office, greeted him, and he told me to sit, then Noah excused us.

"I didn't come for you because I felt you needed time, but I couldn't hold it anymore, so I decided to send for you," Sebastian said. "What made you run that day? Is it that you want to reject me?"

I shook my head immediately he said that because I was too anxious to talk. "So why did you run?" he asked again.

"Because I was confused; I didn't know what to do at that moment," I replied.

He looked at me like he was expecting more explanation and he said, "Confused about what?"

"I thought you would reject me since I am too weak to be your mate and Luna," I said.

He seemed relieved by my reply and said, "I won't reject you, and I don't think you are weak. And you are my destined mate and another half, why should I reject you?"

My cheeks were burning red like tomatoes. Snow purred, "You see, I told you he can't reject us," she squealed. I smiled and told her, "Yes, you did."

Snow had just been smiling, I told you our mate couldn't reject us. He loves us already, she said. But the thought of Evelyn still crossed my mind.

What would you do about Evelyn and the Elders? I asked him, and he said he would settle it and that I should not bother about it.

He came over to me and hugged me, drew me closer, and our lips met, a spark ignited between us and sent a rush of warmth to my body.

And that was the best kiss ever; I smiled and even though that was my first kiss, I couldn't have asked for a better one than this.

I left his office for him to work. However, Sebastian had been busy with Pack duties, so I hadn't seen him for the past three days and I missed his presence so much.

I was heading to the Pack's Library when I smelled his scent; I traced it and stopped in front of a door when I heard people talking.

"You have to mark Evelyn as soon as possible and announce her as your Luna and mate if you don't want to lose your position," I heard a man talking.

"I won't mark Evelyn, and I have told you to give me a few months; I will find my mate before then," Sebastian replied.

"I know you won't agree, but this is because of you; an Alpha without a mate is seen as a weak Alpha and an easy target," another man said.

Snow was angry and about to take over when she heard them telling our mate to mark someone else, but I had to control her till she was calm. I had to leave the place and went back to my room.

I was reading a book until I fell asleep; I woke up to someone knocking on my door.

I opened it and was surprised to see Sebastian at the door. His eyes were red and swollen, showing that he had been stressed. He embraced me and captured me with a kiss; I smiled and responded immediately, but he stopped before it went any further.

"I am sorry, I came late and sorry it is taking so long to announce you as my mate," he said.

"I understand you well, Sebastian; you don't need to apologize," I replied.

We talked for a while before he left to attend a meeting.

It's been three weeks since I and Sebastian have been seeing each other secretly. He has been a sweet mate; we have made out several times and anytime he comes over to my room he brings chocolates, roses, cookies, and ice cream even after I told him not to bother.

He has been showering me with love, and I blessed the Moon Goddess for giving me a chance to experience this.

I have also been learning how to fight with Noah, but it has not been easy.

And for some weird reason, the pack members stopped bullying me; maybe they got tired of me, I thought to myself.

I was coming back from a quick run this morning and I noticed someone had been following me.

I looked back and found no one, which was strange.

I always take a run very early in the morning to avoid pack members from seeing my wolf.

I knew the kind of attention a white wolf gets and I was trying to avoid it at all costs.

I went over to the kitchen to drink water, prepared a cup of coffee, and went back to my room.

But as I was heading back to my room, I saw a quick movement from someone, like the person was following me. But as I looked back again, I found no one.

As I got to my room, I noticed a strange feeling in my stomach, and my head started spinning and my eyes were closing.

Suddenly, someone entered and hit me hard on my head and ran out.

I was unable to see who the person was; blood started gushing from my head. And the next thing I knew, everything was black.
