Chapter 5

I had no idea what to do with this situation. I had to keep my wolf hidden from others because of the attention it would get if they find out.

Now I had something else to hide from people. I couldn't decide if this was a blessing or a curse for my late blooming.

I was lost in my thoughts when Sebastian moved closer to me and put his hands around my shoulders.

He told me not to worry about anything. I looked at him with hope and nodded my head.

I thought to myself, "Maybe I can trust him to protect me from any danger."

Noah announced that the training for the day was done.

He warned the soldiers that if he heard about what happened today, they would be dealt with.

I left for my room and went to take a shower to get rid of the sweat.

I took out a knife and cut myself on my hand to see if I could heal myself.

As a healer, sometimes you can heal others but not yourself. To my surprise, I was able to heal myself. I thought to myself, "I need to learn more about this gift."

I went to the library to look for books on white wolves and healing powers. I saw a book titled "Healing Whitewolf" and decided to pick it up and read it.

I read out loud, "In many cases, Whitewolves belong to the royal family and are mostly inherited."

I thought to myself, "With what I have discovered about werewolves, I might come from a royal family or not."

I found little information about white wolves, so I would have to come back to the library again.

As I was leaving, I saw Helen waving at me. She said, "So this is where you are. I was coming from your room and couldn't find you." She continued, "Anyways, it's time for lunch, so let's go and eat."

I still don't feel completely comfortable around Helen, I guess I'm just not used to having someone looking out for me and being friends with someone.

I decided to give her a chance and give this friendship a try. I smiled at her and she returned the gesture.

Just then, Evelyn and her group of friends came to our table. "Newbie, I've been watching you and I know what you're up to.

But whatever tricks you're playing, stay away from my mate," she snarled. Snow was about to attack her, but I managed to calm her down.

"We don't need any unnecessary attention right now," I said.

"What did she mean by that?" Helen asked. "I'm not sure what she meant," I replied.

She didn't look convinced, but she decided to drop it. "Alright, if you say so," she answered.

After we finished eating, Helen said she was going to help her mom out and left.

Helen is an Omega, so she went to help her mom clean the pack house. I went to my room since I had nothing to do.

I hadn't practised fighting with Noah since I discovered them, so I decided to go check him out and ask him why we stopped training.

I went to his office, but he wasn't there. "Maybe he's in the Alpha's office," I thought to myself.

But I decided not to go there since I didn't want any suspicion until he made the announcement himself.

I didn't know what else to do, so I decided to go to the daycare and play with the kids.

"That's how jobless I am," I laughed to myself.

When I got there, I saw little kids running around and playing with their toys.

The sound of their giggles brought a smile to my face - I love kids. "I was thinking about how my and Sebastian's child would look like," I blushed at my thoughts.

An old lady was there, so I asked her, "Hope you don't mind me helping you out?" "No, my child, it's fine," she replied.

I had been helping her with the cleaning of the rooms and also assisting her in bathing the kids.

I asked her where their parents were and she sadly told me that most of them didn't have any and some were the children of mothers who worked in the kitchen and clinic.

I felt a deep sorrow for them, as I knew what it was like to not have a parent. I promised myself that I would make sure they got all the love they deserved when I became their Luna.

At that moment, a little girl came up to me and tugged on my leg, calling me "Aunty". She asked me to come and play with them, so I asked her what her name was.

She smiled and said her name was Maya. I smiled back and said, "Alright, Maya, let's go and play!"

I picked her up and rolled her around, making her squeal with delight.

We played catch and I laughed a lot, it had been a while since I had laughed so heartily. I now understood why being around kids could make you so happy.

When we were done playing, the kids were already tired, so I put them to sleep.

But before I left, I helped the old lady wash some of the kid's clothes and also helped her to wash the toilet.

"Thank you, my dear," she said.

I checked on the sleeping kids one last time and left but I promised the old lady I would come back and I left.

I was exhausted too, but Snow had been begging me to go for a run, so I decided to go to the woods instead.

I went a bit far from the pack house to avoid anyone from seeing me. I shifted and Snow took off running at full speed, clearly enjoying every moment of it.

When she went to the lake to drink some water, she saw a brown wolf there.

The wolf looked at Snow surprisingly, maybe because she has never seen a white wolf in the pack.

The brown wolf howled at us and Snow howled back.

From her scent, I could tell that she belonged to this pack and that I knew her. I wondered to myself, "But who could she be?"
