Ava

“You were here to see me, no?” The royal doctor asked me in his gravely baritone voice. He was stood just a few feet away from me and I didn’t know what else to say. I should have turned away and returned some other time but I didn't.

“Yes,” I mumbled, unsure of what was expected from me.

“Come in then” He urged. He sounded nice, too nice and I didn’t like it. I was used to people not being nice to me in this place.

When I stepped in , he had two chairs and a table, it was low. It had covers on it like someone could lay on it.

“Why are you…”

“I don’t feel well, I am not sure how I feel,” I said not wanting to spend more time there than necessary. I sounded rude for cutting him off and couldn't look at his face for a second.

He looked confused, but said nothing. There was silence for several moments before he sighed and said “Alright, sit down. I think we will have some tea soon and then we can talk about that illness.

“I don't want tea, can we just continue?” I said looking arou

LeonWe lay on the ground panting and bleeding, I had a bruise or two but not Scar, his whole face was covered in blood. He tried to grab my collar but I dodged. “Do you know what happens if you start a fight in front of the royals, King Leon?”“Fuck everyone!” I spat back, standing up straight and wiping the blood from my chin. “I don't give a shit about anyone here, only about what I want.” With that I started marching away, leaving Scar sitting on the floor nursing his jaw, cursing me out loud.As I walked through my hallway, I knocked down anyone that stood in my path. Once I reached my chamber I pushed aside all of the curtains. The urge to break down more things over took me once more and I picked up the vase and hurled it across the room where it shattered into a hundred pieces against the wall. As the shards flew in all directions, I let out a deep sigh. I sat on my bed and closed my eyes, trying to calm my raging emotions. My beta came rushing in looking worried. “You

AvaI felt like my insides were twisting and turning around each other in a weirdly uncomfortable way. I was sweating buckets, but not because I was cold or hot. It wasn't even because of the heat - I felt warm in every area except my chest. I could feel it in my throat as I ran to the corner of the room trying to find the door, but the contents of my stomach made it out before I could get there. I heaved into a bowl beside me and emptied everything that I had inside of me into the bowl with an expression of pure relief on my face. The girl had woken up to the sounds of me.When I turned , she was staring at me, not blinking or saying anything. Her eyes were wide open and stared straight at me with an expression I would have called shocked. I knew what I looked like, I was sure her eyes must be just as shocked as mine were, but I couldn't look away. “I couldn’t make it out the door, I will clean up” I said, looking back toward the floor as if ashamed for being unable to hold my

LeonSomething was wrong. I knew it the moment I closed the door and moved towards Mother's room. Her bed was well laid and it didn't look like someone had slept on it There was no sign of the blankets being twisted or anything like that, the room seemed perfectly neat. The lights on the side table were turned off and everything else seemed normal. I moved to the gardens and everywhere else I could think of that might have roofed her but I found nothing. Her scent was still in the air but barely, it was faint - weak as a pulse. Nothing. The nagging in my head just increased in intensity. It felt like my head was going to fall off. Something inside of me felt hollow… I took one more look inside Mother's room before moving toward my room. “Mother?” I yelled through the empty space and my voice echoed in the huge silent mansion. “Mother!” I shouted again. My throat felt parched and dry. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and the feeling started to crawl over my skin. Like

Ava“Bring her out” I just remember hands grabbing me and soon I was outside. My eyes recoiled, closing shut at the sight of light. It was the first time I had been outside since two days of being locked up in that dark cell with only my thoughts for company. My breathing quickened as I took a deep whiff of fresh air and felt the wind rush past my face. I could see now, after the blinding light of the sun had disappeared from behind the clouds above, but it didn’t do much to soothe the nervousness in my chest.I was not given enough time as I was pushed through the corridor and down the staircase that led me inside the house. The door was shut before I could even take another step towards what promised safety and peace. The leader of these people was seated at a dining table. There were different foods in front of him as if he was expecting guests . He glanced up at me, giving me a small nod, as his hand gestured for me to sit.I compiled without hesitation. I sat on the edge of the

Unknown“Why do you want to keep hiding?” I asked him, my hands caressed his chest and face as I leaned on the bed, looking up at him in awe, as he stared at me with a puzzled look. He looked like a beast.Half his face was covered in scars from fire, a permanent reminder of his banishment. The other half looked like someone had taken a knife and cut him into a dozen pieces. His left eye was covered by his hair, the scarred skin stretched across it like a white ribbon that held back his brown eyes. His body however was well-toned, muscular, and perfectly proportioned. I could feel every muscle under his touch, as I traced them slowly, feeling the heat of his skin. My fingertips felt his heartbeat as they caressed his chest and abdomen. My mind was swirling with lots of ideas.“What do you mean?” He stared at me with fascination. I was aware of how much power I had over him.I met him when Aunt Portia died. It was a week after she told me about the prophecy on Ava. Aunt Portia had g

AvaThey left me, and when they returned, I was still curled up in a corner with no clue where I was. There was a hole in my heart like someone had tried to take a chunk out of it with a chisel. I didn’t know if that would be worse than the emptiness in the space between worlds. “You are awake” The said leader seemed surprised by this fact, but pleased as well. He looked at me curiously, his hazel eyes seeming to study my face like he wanted to memorize every detail about me. It made me uneasy.I looked at the other men behind him, who were looking at me too. They all wore different clothes, different expressions. Some were kinder than the leader, most of them weren't. They all stared at me with the same look. A mixture of curiosity and distaste. “Do you want anything?”I shook my head not trusting myself to speak even if I could answer them. What would they do to me if I did? Would they keep me locked away for days or weeks while they planned how best to torture me? Torture me f
