Chapter 4: I'm just defending myself!

“Excuse me, I'm just defending myself!”

Karen Goodwill stands up immediately and smooths the lock of hair that was grabbed by Sophia Joyner. Her head skin ached like it was on fire, but when she sees her attacker struggling in the dirty mossy lake, she feels extremely gloating.

Five years as a concubine has turned Karen Goodwill from a meek, simple and gentle girl to tough and strong. Five years of humiliation and suffering from the women around Gordon Williams helped Karen come to her senses. Karen has told herself again and again that in this world, no one can protect her but herself.

Sophia Joyner seems to be going crazy. She scrambles up from the stinking lake and keeps cursing Karen Goodwill. Karen looked at Gordon with big surprise, her eyes seemed to say: So your taste is really so bad?

It’s really bad! When choosing concubines, Gordon Williams only needs some beautiful girls, not so interesting ones. Karen Goodwill seems to be the most special of them all. However, it turned into something different when choosing a lifelong mate. She fights jealousy in crowded places, always saying harsh words to others. Lady Joyner - the young lady of the Williams family turned out to be so rude and disrespectful!

Seeing Karen Goodwill's quick, calm, and decisive reaction, Gordon Williams is both surprised and delighted, though deep inside, he still feels a little sad when he sees Sophia Joyner covered in wet and is stuck with a lot of moss on the bottom of the lake. Sophia crawls onto the lake shore, points her finger at Karen's face, and kept cursing her with the bad words:

“Don't forget what you used to do to earn a living. Just a miserable and dirty concubine who dared to blatantly snatch other people's husbands. You…”

“Instead of insulting me, you better tire your husband tight.” Karen Goodwill, although angry, still calmly replies: “I did not find him myself, I am being disturbed, see? So annoying!”

Karen Goodwill's daring words made Gordon Williams even more perplexed. He? Annoy her? Really? Suddenly, Gordon Williams feels his personal value slip and drop like the stock price of a bankrupt company.

Standing beside Gordon Williams, Sophia Joyner is as angry as if her head is about to smoke. She points her finger at Karen Goodwill's face again. Intending to continue to attack Karen, Sophia rushes over and scolds:

“Oh my gosh, how dare you? Look! How dirty a homewrecker this whore is! Go to hell!”

The hand that is pointing at Karen Goodwill's face is clenched, Sophia Joyner lets out a scream, then turns to look at Gordon Williams with a look of hatred. Two years ago, Gordon Williams was so infatuated with her that he was determined to win a large national project to give to the Joyners as an offering, spending billions to organize a lavish wedding causing the whole country to stir up discussion and admiration. After that, he was hard-working, industrious, completely giving up the habit of flirting. But now, standing in front of her, Gordon Williams defends another woman, once a dirty prostitute!

Sophia Joyner can't help her anger. Something seems to choke her throat, and she feels like her chest is about to explode. As she open her red lips, intending to curse Karen and Gordon with terrible words, Gordon Williams warns her with a fierce look:

“Sophia Joyner, shut up! You know who caused this situation today, huh? You better not mess up! Otherwise, once your shameful betrayal is revealed, they all will know who the dirty and miserable one is!”

“You… you…” Sophia Joyner is angry, tears are about to fall: “You have never heard me explain, never understood me. Our love for the past two years is not even comparable to some other people's gossip, right?”

Gordon Williams felt his head hurt like someone hit him with a hammer, Sophia Joyner continued to use her tears to make him sympathize. When he saw her hugging her paramour into the hotel, if it weren't for his father's critical health, he would have rushed into them to pound them in the ass.

Gordon Williams purses his lips and says nothing, for around them, the crowd began to grow. He is a man, also the CEO of the largest corporation in the country, now turns into a man betrayed by his wife. How wouldn't he want cruel revenge? Gordon does not dare to deny it to himself, one reason why he has been hanging around Karen Goodwill is to annoy Sophia Joyner and vent his anger.

Witnessing this "not-so-beautiful" scene, feeling that she herself is entangled in the trouble caused by Gordon Williams, Karen indescribably frustrates.

“Hey, both of you should go back home, close the door and resolve your own conflicts with each other. I don't want to have anything to do with you guys anymore! One is disturbing me, the other is harassing me. What a shame!”

Karen Goodwill coldly says to Gordon and Sophia, then turns out to leave. The crowd surrounding them has been taking photos and videos from the beginning. Everyone is curious as to who the girl making the famous CEO of the Williams Gems Group will come forward to defend her. Of course, Karen Goodwill's attitude further disappointed Gordon Williams. He knows he only wants to use her to get revenge on Sophia Joyner, but his greedy nature still makes him run after Karen Goodwill.

“Karen, wait, wait! Listen to me! We need to talk.” 

Gordon Williams rushes out of the crowd, chasing Karen Goodwill, but she gets in a taxi and disappears. Far from the incident, out of sight of everyone present in the earlier scuffle, a white car was parked. Inside the car, a young woman with a beautiful face and hot body is watching Karen Goodwill's back, her eyes filled with jealousy.

She remembered the days before, when she had to endure her poverty and cruelty of the Williams family, Karen was still protected by Gordon and peacefully spent five years as his concubine. Lily Orla will never forget the humiliation she experienced.

Stepping out of the car, Lily made a phone call to someone, with a mysterious smile on her lips. 

“I am right, right? She wants to rob everything of you. Of course, I am by your side.”
