Kieran

I felt a sudden cold and heavy shadow falling over us.

I didn't need to turn around to know that danger was right behind my back. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught the metallic glint of a heavy blade swinging downward, just inches away from my skull.

Instinct took over before my brain could even process the threat. I dropped my shoulder, spun on my heel, and launched a powerful kick straight into the side of the rogue's knee.

A loud snap echoed through the corridor as the rogue howled in pain and went crashing hard onto the wooden floor.

My heart practically jumped into my throat when I realized where he had landed. He had collapsed right next to Elara’s pale, unconscious body.

The rogue opened his eyes, blinked away the shock, and immediately saw her lying beside him. A twisted grin spread across his blood-stained face as he made a desperate attempt to reach out and wrap his filthy fingers around her collarbone.

"Get away from her!" I roared and delivered a swift kick to his wrist, knocking his arm away before his fingers could touch her skin.

I grabbed the rogue by his torn collar, digging my boots into the floorboards as I dragged his heavy body away from her motionless body.

The battle turned vicious instantly. The rogue scrambled backward on the floor, his desperate eyes locking onto his fallen blade.

He reached out, grabbed the hilt, and tried to swing it wildly toward Elara's legs. I lunged forward and kicked his hand yet again, sending the weapon spinning across the room.

It became a full-blown, relentless brawl.

The apartment was cramped, and the smell of copper and sweat filled the narrow hallway. Every single time the rogue saw a tiny opening or a gap in my defense, he didn't try to hit me, he would run straight towards Elara instead.

His relentless focus was terrifying.

I couldn't move Elara to a safer room while actively keeping a ruthless murderer off my back. Every second was a delicate, dangerous dance. I had to position my own body as a human shield, blocking his path every time he charged toward her.

He lunged toward her head but I caught him in a chokehold and threw him against the wall. He swept his legs to trip me so he could crawl past me but I stomped down on his ankle and dragged him back into the center of the hallway.

I traded heavy blows with him, taking sharp punches to my ribs and face, but I refused to let him step past me.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity of brutal combat, I delivered a crushing right hook that shattered his jaw, followed by a heavy strike to his neck. The rogue went completely limp, falling to the floor like a sack of stones.

I stood over him while panting heavily.

My whole body was soaked and heavy, my clothes were drenched in a mixture of my own blood and far more of the rogue's blood.

I picked up the heavy, lifeless body of the rogue, carried him to the broken frame, and threw his body out the window into the dark alley below.

I then slammed the window shut, secured the latches, and locked the back door tightly.

I left Elara safely hidden behind the locked door for just a moment, then I rushed downstairs to check on my brothers and Louis.

When I reached the lower landing, the fighting was already coming to an end. Louis was kneeling over the final rogue, delivering a brutal, lethal blow that ended the fight instantly.

Louis wiped the sweat from his forehead and turned to face me. His eyes were bloodshot, they looked wild with adrenaline and pure terror.

He took one look at my bloodied shirt and froze.

"Where is my sister?" Louis asked, his voice shaking violently.

I swallowed hard, my throat feeling completely dry. I hesitated for just a single second to catch my breath.

That brief silence was enough to break Louis completely.

His face went pale, his knees buckled, and he sank toward the floor as a terrible sob ripped from his chest. He thought she was dead. He thought he had lost his little sister forever.

"She is alive!" I shouted quickly, stepping down the stairs to grab his shoulders. "Louis, she is still alive. She is just unconscious. She was stabbed in the side during the attack, but she is breathing."

The terror in his eyes turned into urgent action.

Without wasting another second, we rushed back upstairs, lifted Elara as carefully as possible, and sprinted out to the vehicle.

We drove like madmen through the dark streets of Blackridge, racing straight to the nearest emergency clinic.

The medical staff met us at the door, rolling her immediately into a trauma ward. The hours dragged on in absolute agony as we paced the cold hallway outside.

Eventually, the doctor stepped out and informed us that the blade had missed her vital organs. They cleaned her wound, stitched the tear, and moved her into a private recovery ward.

We all gathered around her hospital bed, staring at her pale, still face.

Jace leaned against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest as he broke the heavy silence. "I don't understand it," Jace said softly. "Brielle said Damien paid those rogues to capture Elara and bring her back to him alive. So why were they trying so hard to kill her?"

I rubbed my bruised chin, remembering the desperate madness in the eyes of the monster I had fought. "I noticed it too," I replied quietly. "The rogue I fought up there was not trying to capture her. He had multiple chances to knock her out or drag her away, but every single time he moved, he tried to land a killing blow on her."

Louis was by the head of the bed, staring down at his sister with dark, hollow eyes. "There is only one logical explanation," Louis spat out bitterly. "Damien wants her dead. He wants to finish what he started with that poison. My cousin Brielle was probably lying to us all along. She set us up, warning us about a kidnapping while sending assassins to murder my sister."

I shook my head slowly, running a hand over my tired face. "Brielle might have betrayed Elara in the past," I said quietly, "but she was definitely not lying this time. She sounded genuinely terrified on that phone."

Before anyone could argue further, a soft, dry cough echoed from the hospital bed, instantly shattering our debate and pulling every eye directly toward Elara.

RonanJust as I was about to open the door, the burner phone inside my jacket pocket began to ring. I paused for a second, my fingers slipping off the brass knob. I reached into my coat, pulled out the phone, and stared down at the blank screen. Only one person had this number."Is that him?" Elara asked instantly, her eyes widening with a sudden surge of hope."Hold on," I grunted and slid my thumb across the screen before pressing the phone tightly against my ear. "Louis?""Ronan," Louis’ voice came through the speaker. It sounded strangely distant and hollowed out by static, but it was definitely him. "Don't go to the train station."I narrowed my eyes, my body locking up with instant tension. "What are you talking about? Where the hell are you, Louis? We found the note you left behind. We were literally stepping out the door to come get you.""I know," Louis replied, letting out a heavy, tired breath over the static. "That's why I am calling right now. The note was a distraction.

Elara The next morning, the sun streaming through the dusty windows illuminated the room. I blinked sleepily against the bright rays, slowly waking up from the deep sleep Jace had guarded through the night.I sat up gently on the sofa and pulled the thick wool blanket away from my shoulders. The spot right beside me on the cushion where Jace was supposed to be was empty. He was already gone, though his jacket still hung over the back of the wooden chair. My heart did a quick, nervous flip as everything from last night kept rushing back in. I pushed myself up off the sofa, pressing my hand lightly against my side where the ache had dulled into a mild soreness. I made my way out of the room and walked quickly down the quiet hallway toward Louis's room only to find the door standing wide open. The bed was completely untouched and the blankets were still smooth and flat.Louis was not back yet. I panicked instantly as I hurried out of the room and walked into the main living area wh

ElaraI placed my forehead and my hand on the window, breathing heavily as I watched Loius get back into the car. But he didn't drive away immediately. My heart hammered faster as I anticipated the moment he was going to drive away. Three minutes went by and get still hadn't drove away. I stood there in suffocating silence as I watched the car. The headlights of the car went off for as second before they came back on again. It was as though he was trying to pass a message and he knew I was watching him. Finally, he drove off. I stood for another ten minutes, breathing air so hot against the window, it had created a fog around my mouth area. "Elara?"I almost jumped out of my skin. My entire body jerked as I stepped back from the window and turned around to see who it was. "Are you okay, Elara?" Jace asked, his eyes going wide with concern. "No...I mean...yes I am. I'm fine." I lied. He stared at me for a moment, running his piercing eyes all over the room. "You don't look fine

  • Claimed By The Triplet Alpha Bikers    Chapter 22

Elara The icy wind bit into my cheeks, but I stood completely still against the rough bark of the tree, my breath hitching in my chest. The sleek car was idling quietly at the very edge of the gravel trail causing my heart to hammer against my ribs like a trapped bird.I pressed my back against the thick tree trunk, digging my fingernails into my palms to keep from crying out. I tried to pull my senses together, listening past the rush of blood in my ears. The car door opened with a faint, metallic sound, followed by the heavy thud of a boot hitting the ground. I peeked carefully around the tree trunk, my vision straining through the dark only to see a tall figure stepping out into the moonlight, shutting the car door with a quiet push.My eyes widened in pure shock. Oh moon goddess, it wasn't Damien at all...it was Loius! The heavy wave of terror in my chest vanished in a single second, replaced by complete bewilderment. Without thinking twice, I broke away from the cover of the

Elara The doors of the grand hall slammed shut behind us with an echoing boom that rattled right through my bones. The afternoon wind was whipping across the stone courtyard of the assembly grounds but I didn't flinch because I couldn't feel the chill. My entire body was completely numb, frozen in a state of suffocating shock. The council's verdict was hanging in the air like an executioner's axe. Damien had won, the high council had backed him completely, and my own terrible secret had been twisted into the ultimate chain to bind me to him forever.Louis walked beside me, dragging his feet heavily against the pavement. His jaw was locked tight, and his fists were clenched so hard his knuckles looked stark white against his skin.Jace, Kieran and Ronan followed behind us in silence with grim expression on their faces. Nobody said a word until we got to the parking area where our vehicle was waiting for us. Louis opened the passenger door of the car for me, his movements were a

  • Claimed By The Triplet Alpha Bikers    Chapter 20

Elara The grand hall of the annual pack assembly felt like a cage. There were hundreds of wolves that had taken their seats, all murmuring in low tones. At the center of the raised dais was the high council elders, draped in dark robes that hid their faces. To my left stood Damien, flanked by two armed guards. He was wearing a crisp, tailored suit, that made him look like the untouchable, powerful alpha he pretended to be. And standing beside him was Brielle. Louis was at my right, clenching his jaw so hard I thought they would shatter. Jace, Kieran and Jace were standing behind us. They were still battered and bandaged but they refused to leave my side despite their injuries. My heart was pounding fast against my ribs, every breath I took felt thin and it felt like I was drowning in a room full of people who had already decided I was guilty of nothing more than being an inconvenient female. The head elder raised a wrinkled hand, and the murmurs in the hall slowly died down."S
