Scarlett's POV

After spending so much time in the library trying to figure out what the North wanted with Franklin, I still didn't succeed. I read quite a number of books since I had so much free time, but none could exactly pinpoint what was needed. I only ran around in circles.

I was back in my room, and this time, Timber North wasn't lurking somewhere inside. It was now four days to the stupid marriage with Timber North.

I picked up my phone, with intentions to reach out to Paenyrah because of Franklin. I was considering texting over calling. I eventually put a call through to her. She didn't pick up for a while, and I was beginning to give up.

She eventually picked just when I was about to end the call.

“What a surprise!” Paenyrah’s voice conveyed her surprise.

“Hi Paenyrah.” I muttered.

“Hi, what is it that you want this time?” She asked.

“Franklin. Is he fine and alive?” I asked.

“Why are you bothered about that? Last I checked, you didn't want anything to do with him. Yo

Thane's POV I felt an immediate gravitational pull towards Scarlett. My heart skipped a beat when I randomly caught her scent. Her red hair was an exceptionally beautiful choice of colour that made me overly interested in being close to her. I had already changed directions to move close to her when Timber North called me. He was laughing and I could hear his footsteps.I looked at him for about two seconds, and returned the fake smile, only to see that Scarlett had also left. “I hope the journey wasn't so stressful?” Prince Timber asked as we shook hands. We firstly went to see the King, who seemed to be in the best state to plot and scheme. “You are not the Prince of the South.” He chuckled. “Your eyes have more blue in them than the sky.”I chuckled, since that was the last thing that'd get to me at this stage. “I have just been crowned. My coronation was a few days ago.” I said. “I'd suggest that you do not question the decision of my King right in front of his Prince.” Timb

Franklin's POV “So, what do you want to do now?” Jessica asked, resting her head on my legs. I had just finished reading the book about vampires and demons. There was nothing that could lead me to the actual answer I needed. It was a very interesting read, so I wasn't so bothered.“What do you suggest?” I asked, shrugging. “Let's sleep, I'm tired.” Jesisca muttered. “You'll be the big spoon.” I couldn't let her sleep on the couch because I wanted it to still have the faint scent of Scarlett it had. So we went to one of the rooms, and I made sure she slept off. My body was heating up and the bed was burning up already. I left her side to avoid hurting her. I went downstairs, and I turned on the news. There was nothing important going on.I picked up my sword, and I went outside, in hopes of learning to control my powers and know every single one of them I had. “What powers would a Demon King want in a person?” I asked myself, unsheathing Legion. I wanted to fight someone so badly,

Scarlett's POV I was in the library, searching for books that'd probably help with the problem I had developed. To know what the North might be getting out of it, I might have to know why Franklin must have taken the hands of the dark world. I took two books after hours of searching. The library doesn't seem to hold what I want. I sighed, walking back to the Palace. I couldn't use the Internet as I wished in the North. The censored use could alarm anyone if I tried figuring out what was happening. I got back to my room , shaking my head tiredly. I locked the door behind me. I stayed there for a few seconds, about to run to the bed and sleep. “Where were you?” Timber’s voice rang through the room and I shook. I instantly turned to look at him. He had a smirk on his face like he was enjoying the unhinged thing he was doing. “The library.” I responded, pushing the books I had borrowed to the side so he wouldn't see them. I then walked into the light, where he could see me very well

Franklin's POV I watched while Jessica tried to figure out the repair of the landline. After a few minutes of watching, I got bored and dashed into the library to check if books that'd help were there. The library itself was dusty, but it wasn't too repulsive. I walked round, looking for any book that'd say a thing or two about a demon king. I caught an old book I had read with Scarlett when she used to sneak in to see me. I sighed reading it. It somehow felt like I was reliving memoirs that should normally haunt me. I shook my head to come out of my own head. I kept walking round the tall shelves, jumping up and holding the shelf for support. I stopped in front of one part, and my eyes caught a title that intrigued me. “The Demon King, and the human he desires.” The title read. I just observed it from where I was, wondering about what I'd get from the book. “It works now!” Jessica's voice rang through the house. I hurriedly grabbed the book, and I left to see her.

Franklin's POV “Compared to the world's time, how long have I been here?” I asked Kalus who was very busy eating. I liked that he wasn't so interested in speaking to me like he ever loved me. He was very straight with me, and I enjoyed that honesty, although I don't know what to expect from a demon.” “Three days.” He responded, and I chuckled. “The immersion was about two and half days although it seemed very quick in your eyes.” “And what's the name of your messenger?” I asked, and he glanced at me. “She was never named.” Kalus responded, going back to his meal. “Your plans for me will not work out.” I assured him. “Our plans for you?” He scoffed. “You are Tenebris!” “I am.” I claimed it, hoping it'd make me scared. “That's why you should not try to do anything that'd not align with my plans.”“And why does that sound like a threat?” He asked.I scoffed, standing up. “Because it is.” I growled, staring into his eyes. I don't know what fear in a demon’s eyes would look like, b
