Chapter 24

Thane's POV

“Registrar John had this specially organised for you.” Alpha Harry whispered into my ears as Rose came out of Lunaris Academy. I smiled, remembering the conversation we had about decency. “He told me to tell you to have fun.”

“Thank you.” I replied. Rose ran over to hug me. I hugged her, kissing her neck.

“My baby.” She whispered, and I grabbed her waist, looking at Seth and a lady having fun.

“You're going to beg not to get pregnant this three days.” I whispered into her ears, and she chuckled.

All these things were nice, but there was an ongoing suspicion in my heart. I could not shake it off, and I was going to ensure that I was on the side that was sure about the truth.

The ride to the North was quite long. Rose and I saw several movies, listened to several songs, and when we had to stretch our legs in the bushes, we had sex.

It was a 12 hour drive to the North, and we made it at Nightfall. Everyone was tired. We slept through a good percentage of the drive, but tiredness still overtook us.

“So now, I have rooms for everyone.” Alpha Harry said, handing over a key to me. It had my name and Rose's on it.

“Oh, there must be a mix up.” Seth said, and we all looked up at him.

“What's the matter?” Alpha Harry asked.

“My key says Harry and Seth, while hers pairs her with someone else.” Seth said.

“Must be a mistake from their end.” He sighed. “You might have to share a room with me then.”

“Oh no.” Seth's lady said confidently. I was almost jealous of their closeness. They way they held each other, laughed with each other, and even looked at each other, you could tell that something was up. One would think that he didn't name me his mate a while back.

“What?” Alpha Harry asked.

“There'd be no need to share with you.” She repeated.

“What's your name again?”

“Michelle Diane, and there'd be no need to share your room with you.”

“Erm… why? I wouldn't want to disrupt whatever the hotel has for us.” Alpha Harry argued.

“Well, the girl I'm supposed to share my room with, obviously likes the guy there that has no person to share his room with, so they'd stay together.” Michelle gave a simple solution. “And I will share my room with Seth, so you can have the room all to yourself.”

“Afterall, you're a teacher, and you should have the room to yourself.” Seth added, and we all nodded.

“And if you want a roommate badly, you can pair with Madame Lucia.” Michelle said, smiling at their teacher.

Something was going on, but I couldn't quite place my hand on it. I guess very soon, it'll all be glaring.

“And if you insist, we can easily correct it with the receptionists. My family has had vacations here several times, and that's close to the easiest thing to correct.” Seth added. I unintentionally listened to his heartbeat, and he was lying.

“Erm… if that's how you want it, so be it.” Alpha Harry eventually folded.

Everyone carried their bags and started heading towards their rooms. I carried Rose's own, as Seth carried Michelle's.

I crept up to Seth, and he looked at me with his side eye.

“You haven't been to the North, have you?” I asked, and he scoffed.

“What gave me away?” He asked, smirking.

“Everything about that just gave it away as a lie.” I chuckled, shaking my head in awe.

“What can I say? I'm good at everything possible on Earth when Michelle's around.”

“Love it for you.” I chuckled, leaving his company.

“I see you're making up with your roomie.” Rose noticed.

“He's a chill guy, what can I say?” I chuckled, walking into the room with her.

I hurriedly picked up my phone and placed a call through to Lincoln.

“Hey brilliant boy.” Lincoln chuckled. “How's it going? Heard y'all took bitches with y'all.”

“Yeah man. It's chill. Got Rose by my side.” I said.

“Hi Lincoln.” She giggled.

“Hi fine shyt.” Lincoln chuckled. “Hey man, take it easy on that pussy.”

“Nah man, I doubt that.” I scoffed, looking round the room. Rose was a little bit far away, so I could whisper.

“So, I need your help, man.” I said, and Lincoln stopped chuckling.

“What do you need, brother?” He asked, and I sighed.

“I just need to find out where Seth and his parents lived. It might be important to this competition.” I lied.

“Alright man. I'll hit you up soon.” He responded.

“Thanks bro.”

Rose came out of the bathroom in a nightgown.

“Are you tired already? Or you wanna play?” She asked, winking at me in a slutty manner.

“An Alpha is never tired.” I chuckled, and she pulled a rope around her waist. The nightgown slid off her body with ease.

We had dinner together. Alpha Harry was very insistent on that. He shared nuggets that'd help us win the competition.

“This place has way better infrastructures than the South.” Lane, one of the guys mentioned.

I had my eyes on Seth, trying to confirm my suspicion, but there was really nothing that gave him away.

“Well, the South has enough especially good and compassionate governance, good food, and two Academies.” Michelle said.

“So, would you say the South is better than the North?” Alpha Harry asked. For a reason not far fetched, he was very interested in discrediting her.

“Well that's subjective.” Michelle said, grabbing everyone's attentions.

“In what way?” Alpha Harry asked, but Michelle had a huge chunk of meat in her mouth.

Seth decided to take over till she was done.

“If you're considering the happiness of the people, then hell yeah.” Seth said, and we chuckled. “You realize that people don't really want much. They just want to be able to afford whatever they desire, and the South gives room for that “

“If infrastructure is what would be used to argue what a better city is… then the East takes a lead on that, but none of them compares to the South in every other aspect. This is not to say that the North isn't governed well, they just don't have a compassionate leader.” Seth said with a final tone.

“And what exactly makes you feel like the North doesn't have happy people?” Alpha Harry asked.

“C'mon, the taxes, the curfews, the ban on several foods? I can go on and on.” Michelle rolled her eyes.

“Especially the taxes.” Madame Lucia groaned, and we all laughed.

“Someone else might be able to argue that it's just for their better living.” Alpha Harry said.

“Doesn't make them any happier. You need to see them salivate at the things we eat.” Stoic said.

“Well then guys, that's enough for tonight. Y'all sleep well. We leave at dawn for the competition.” Alpha Harry said. “And please, read! Don't have sex, read!”

Most people scoffed, even Madame Lucia.

We headed back to our room, and I trailed behind Michelle and Seth. I was trying to notice anything out of the blue, but they were too close for me to see anything.

When we got into the room, I was still very disturbed. My phone rang just as I was about to settle in. Rose had already laid on the bed to sleep.

“Yeah? Lincoln?” I muttered, picking up the call.

“So, it was pretty easy to find out.” He said, and I swallowed down hard, ready to swallow a huge pill.

“Okay, so what is it?” I asked.

“Damn bro, it's all in a file, and I've sent it to you. Didn't check it, and can't go through all that shit.” Lincoln scoffed. “Good luck though.”

I ended the call and hurriedly drew out my laptop. I immediately received the file he had sent. I tapped on my keyboard for a while, trying to be sure that I wanted to see whatever was in the file.

“Fuck it.” I whispered, opening the file about Seth's family.

The first picture I saw was all that was needed to knock me out. My eyeballs widened the more I saw in that file. I could only hope that Lincoln hadn't seen it.

This proved one thing! The Seth right here is an impostor! And the one thing I intend to find out is his gender.

“What if he's a girl?” I gasped, suddenly remembering everything that transpired between us.
