Mag-log in"Whaaaat!!!"
In disbelief, she checked her phone again. Still not satisfied with that. She checked the message on her phone.
"God... This must be a joke!"
She ran to her door and went around her big house. Every time she meets her housekeeper she will get the same answer.
"Are you sure?"
The old housekeeper looked confused at her young miss's weird question.
"Ye... Yes.. Miss Nadine. Tomorrow is your wedding day."
Shocking and terrifying, she went back to her room. Her phone suddenly rang and she just ignored the call. Biting her nail to dismiss her shock, she is still trying to process what happened to her. But suddenly she laughed frantically.
"If You want me to pay for my sin, choose before I've forced him to marry me."
She is biting her nails nervously again and begins to think.
"I separated him with his lover once to marry me. Make an innocent man become a cheater and despicable husband. Kill our unborn baby to get his attention. And end my life in misery. Now I have a second chance. I have to fix everything. Everything.... Maybe he and my unborn baby will forgive me and I won't die young."
A smile was plastered on her rosy lips. Her phone was ringing again. She was so annoyed with that call and end up answering that call.
"Ah father...."
Nadine doesn't seem to care about her father's words. And just playing with her nails.
"Yes... I know. We will meet him this afternoon. I'll go to the office right now because I've something to say to you first."
Her father's voice can be heard clearly now because she puts her phone on speaker mode. And just leaving her phone on her bed. She walks away to her beautiful white dress that has been displayed in her room.
"Yes... Make sure you sign everything. He promised to hand over his company to us. And marry you."
She is stopping her slender finger from tracing the gown in front of her when she hears about her wedding.
"Wait father.... I have something to say. I'll go to your office."
Her father ended their call but she was still mesmerizing her wedding gown.
"Mother's wedding dress. Such a pity that I wear this with my unhappy husband."
She remembered her wedding day. Her father threw a big party for her. Of course, as the heir of Big Step International, a famous company that runs a big hotel chain, he will hold an extravagant party.
That day she felt so happy, she felt at the top of the world. Never thinking that her husband would feel miserable beside her. On her wedding night, he avoided her as much as he could. And just leaving her alone to go back to his house.
"I'm so stupid...."
After a little while remembering her nostalgic wedding, she had self determination.
"This time I won't be greedy. I'll let you go. Don't worry my Adi."
She left her beautiful gown and got ready to change her fate.

"Anna? Did you get my email?"
She is checking her laptop while calling Anna.
"Okay. Please add that to the contract."
She smiles when hearing Anna complaining to her. But she quickly calms her down.
"Don't worry... I'll handle my father."
Then she ended her call and looked outside her car. She regained her past memories. Today she will meet her husband. He will sign a contract to hand over his dad's company to her.
"His dad, huh?"
Then she remembered something.
"I'm evil... Haah... It's still two days after his father's death. And I pressured him to make this deal."
Her memory wandered around to the past. When she met her husband for the first time.
That night he was attending a company gathering. All of the CEO of the hotel chain gathered at that event. As the representative of her father's company she, attended that event.
Every single person in that room knows her except him. Adrian Miller, son of the small resort owner, Ronald Miller. Every year they will invite a small hotel or resort owner to become their guest.
Nadine suddenly smiled when she remembered how she met her husband.
That day was not her day. Her father was scolding her for losing an important contract. They lost from a small company that she had never heard of before. And that is not even the end. Her dress for that night had been ruined because one of her housekeepers accidentally tore it when she took it from her wardrobe. Didn't have enough time to just wear her work attire for that grand event.
Misfortune God still haunted her because she got stuck in long traffic when she went there. And on that really nice day, it suddenly started to rain when she wanted to enter the building.
She looks so pissed off and not even in the mood to socialize with that higher rank. Everyone who looked at her didn't want to make a mess with her and just ignored her. Until someone out of nowhere came to greet her with his warm smile.
"Hello... Are you new too? I'm Adrian Miller."
When she heard his last name, she looked so pissed off. Standing in front of her, there was a man who was just a few inches taller than her. His dark short hair was combed to the back. His warm honey eyes are covered with glasses. He's not muscular like her past ex-lover. Or handsome like a model. He is just a fine, ordinary man.
He is that 'Miller', the one who took her project. And make her day like an incompetent loser. She wants to take revenge, she wants to humiliate him in front of everyone.
"Don't you know me?"
He gave her a questionable face. She was just snickering.
"Let's get to know each other. Once again, I'm Adrian Miller, representative of Miller Resort."
He reached out his hand for a handshake. But Nadine didn't want to take it. She kept pissing him off. But Adrian didn't seem to care about her attitude. And keep babbling around his story.
Knowing his partner was not interesting, he was trying to joke around.
"Hey... See that fat man over there!"
She just turned her gaze to the fat man who secretly took a macaron and put that snack in his suit. But he didn't realize a beautiful lady standing behind him looked so angry.
"You know... In two minutes she will tear his ear apart."
She was so fixated with the scene. And just like Adrian said, the woman beside him pinched his ear so hard. That guy looked so in pain and just apologized to her.
Without any warning, Nadine laughs so hard seeing that funny scene in front of her.
"That's much better. You look better when you smile."
Realizing that her mood has changed so suddenly, she stops laughing and stares at Adrian, who stupidly gives her a warm smile.
At that moment, his warm smile was just like a bright sun on her rainy day. With just a stupid joke, she had fallen for him.
"How do you know about that?"
He smiles again, his face looks so peaceful. And stared again at that fat man who was still being scolded by the woman.
"He is my father and my aunt."
Knowing that she has been tricked, Nadine just lets out a little laugh. Her night was not totally in a mess with that ordinary man beside her.

"Miss... We have arrived."
"Focus on the contract, sir. Let's not give him an inch," Davis murmured, falling into step beside Adrian as they crossed the lobby of the downtown steakhouse. Adrian didn't answer. He'd rehearsed this pitch a dozen times on the drive over, and none of the versions had felt like enough. The private room of that high-end restaurant reeked of expensive leather and corporate ambition. Alex Barrett leaned back in his chair, took a sip of his afternoon tea, his suit jacket unbuttoned, watching Adrian approach with lazy amusement."You're late, Adrian." Alex's voice dripped with effortless arrogance.Adrian pulled out the opposite chair and sat without a word, his jaw locked tight, and set a blue folder on the table. "I'm here for the joint venture, not to socialize."Alex chuckled, resting his elbows on the polished wood. "Straight to business. I respect that.""Let's skip the small talk, Barrett. We're here for the Big Step project. Sign the cooperation papers for the mountain develop
Nadine sat behind her immaculate mahogany desk in her high-rise office, her eyes scanning the quarterly ledgers. Her phone chimed sharply against the polished wood.Nadine flinched, her heart hammering against her ribs with cold panic. Trouble. She snatched up the screen, bracing for a disaster alert about Case 1.Instead, a simple, unadorned message stared back at her: I got the deal.A breathless squeal slipped past her lips before she could catch it. The sudden, uncharacteristic sound made Anna flinch violently, dropping a red correction pen onto the audit papers."Miss Nadine?" Anna adjusted her glasses, staring in utter bewilderment.Nadine cleared her throat and typed back. Congratulations. I know you can do it. Report to Father immediately. Almost instantly, his reply lit up the screen: Thank you. I'm on my way to the office.Nadine stared at the glowing screen, warmth melting the ice around her heart. In their previous life, her phone had been a graveyard of unread messa
"Alex Barrett wants in on the presentation."Andrew's voice crackled over the line. "His team spent the afternoon hounding the owners of the Grove and the Dairy. They refused to take 'no' for an answer."Adrian adjusted his glasses, his jaw tightening as the shadow competition crept over the mountain. "And you're letting him join?""It's only fair to hear both proposals side-by-side," Andrew replied with a low, testing growl. "Tomorrow morning, 9 AM, at the timber mill. Don't be late, Adrian."Morning mist still clung to the peaks when Adrian and Mr. Davis arrived at the Whitfield farm. Adrian knew the land was tied to Barrett Corp, but he needed to see the enemy's footprints himself. Mr. Davis stood silently beside him, silver-rimmed spectacles catching the early light."Mr. Whitfield, I'm not here to renegotiate," Adrian began, extending a hand to the weathered farmer. "I just want to understand why you chose Alex's retail logistics over our eco-resort."The farmer looked at his
"So, Miss Angel's name is Olie?"Nadine stepped through the heavy front doors of the Merrick Estate, still turning over the collision of Alex and Olivia in her mind. The foyer was dim.Adrian arrived almost the same moment she did. They met at the front door."You're late, Nadine," Adrian said, his low baritone cutting through the silence of the hall. "A business meeting ran long, and I lost track of the hour," she replied, firm and practiced. Adrian's gaze dropped to the grease-stained parchment bag clutched tightly in her hand. "Why did you buy that?" Adrian asked, his tone sliding into a dangerous, suspicious register. "That's the signature snack from the East District market stall." He stepped closer, his broad frame casting a shadow over her as he searched her face for a lie.Nadine's heart skipped. She looked at her husband and saw a man who still, underneath it, viewed her as the enemy. "I was passing through the district and felt a craving," she lied, her voice softer than
Miss Angel. The name kept surfacing in Nadine's mind like a stone she couldn't stop turning over, even as the city lights blurred past the sedan's windows and Jim steered them toward Olivia's home.Where did I hear that name…"Nadine?" Olivia's soft voice broke through the silence. Nadine turned from the window, her expression smoothing. "I'm sorry, Olie. I was lost in my own thoughts for a moment.""Who was that man in the café, Nadine?" Olivia asked, her clear brown eyes searching for answers. "He seemed so… intense."She tapped her chin, thinking it over. "And energetic." A giggle escaped her. "You should have seen how messy he was."The sound of it, light, unguarded, faintly delighted, caught Nadine off guard.Don't laugh about him like that, Olie. Don't talk about him so fondly.Nadine's resolve hardened all over again.I won't let that light laugh turn into a mesmerized gaze, or worse, into tragedy for the Angel of these Starry Skies."An old friend from high school," Nadine s
"So this is where you ran off to after rejecting my five-star lunch invitation!"Ten minutes earlier, Alex's phone had buzzed for the third time with a demanding vibration from Will. The East District was a maze his luxury GPS refused to navigate.I'm near the market entrance, Will. The car won't make it through this crowd. I'll wait at the corner café.His silk shirt clung damp, cuffs stained with spicy peanut sauce. He'd spotted the weathered pine sign of Le Petit Café glowing under a streetlamp and started toward it.Through the glass, a familiar silhouette caught his eye. Nadine, At a corner table, her posture unusually relaxed. A decorative plant blocked the face of her companion.A slow, predatory smirk curved his mouth. Is she meeting that "little brother" again? He'd imagined the look on her face when he crashed her secret meeting, shifted the bags higher, and marched for the door.“Well, time to surprise her. I guess…”The chime rang as he stepped inside, chicory and toast
Nadine returns to the office to meet Anna."You're really weird today. Suddenly, you want to cancel the contract. And make a fuss with Mr. Miller."Nadine only smiled faintly at Anna's nagging."You know Mr. Miller's in a bad state right now? His father had just died two days ago. And he has to han
"I told you our business is done."Nadine still hadn't lost her courage to persuade Adrian."I will help with all of my aunt's medical expenses. I will transfer her to the best hospital so she can walk again."Nadine hopes Adrian's anger subsides, but what she gets is the opposite. Adrian looks ver
Nadine then invites Adrian to get into her car. Adrian seemed to refuse to sit in the same place as Nadine. Without permission, he immediately opened the front door and sat down next to Jim. In the car, Jim looked confused by Adrian's behavior. Nadine just nodded her head and sighed, letting Adrian
Adrian snickered at Nadine's question. He suddenly closes the door in front of Nadine. But Nadine blocked the door with her legs. Nadine winced a little because the door hit her leg."Ouch!"Adrian instantly released his door and Nadine took the opportunity to barge in and left Adrian speechless wi
