Chapter 2: Playing Hooky

After arriving at the club and getting the curbside valet treatment, I met my friends inside, Alpha Callen and Beta Nate following right behind me.

“CELESTE! OH. EM. GEE! SO GOOD TO SEE YOU GIRL!” Joan shouts over the music that is blasting into our ears from every direction.

“HEY JOAN!” I give her a hug and accept the drink she hands me, immediately beginning to suck it down.

Terry and Emi come up from behind me and Terri wraps me in a bear hug from behind lifting me up off the ground a bit.

“TERRY!” I laugh holding on for dear life as he lifts me and puts me back down.

Suddenly, Alpha Callen rips Terry away from me and slams him against a nearby wall. It scares the living shit out of me!

“ALPHA CALLEN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” I shout rushing over to where he slammed Terry against the wall.

“This wolf had his hands all over you! He needs a lesson in keeping his hands to himself and to know better than to touch what isn’t his!” He growled out not giving me even a glance as he continued to stare down Terry who looked like he actually did shit himself.

“He’s my FRIEND! He can touch me if he wants to! I’m NO ONES Alpha Callen! Now LET HIM GO!” I shout frustrated and beginning to get angry.

I could see Alpha Callen take a few deep breaths, look Terry up and down one last time and then push off the wall and walk away from Terry. When he let go of Terry and walked away, I jumped into Terry’s arms and hugged him.

“I’m so sorry!” I shouted.

“It’s okay, it’s okay! I’m fine!” Terry tried to reassure me, but I didn’t believe him.

“C`mon, lets go grab another drink at the bar!” I suggest.

“How are you able to get drinks from this bar? Aren’t you under age?” Alpha Callen asks me, crinkling his brows looking confused.

“I’m eighteen, thank you very much!” I remind Alpha Callen. In the realm of wolves, eighteen is a legal adult and old enough to drink. When humans enter the clubs owned by wolves or made for wolves, they tend to still serve those under twenty one, but they will only serve you in the VIP section. If most of the clientele for the evening are wolves, they don’t care. Besides, most of the alcohol is extra strong so all of us wolves can actually get a buzz going. Human potency levels don’t affect us, so if humans come and order drinks, our bartenders literally have to water their drinks down so they don’t get alcohol poisoning.

“When did you turn eighteen?”

“Why do you care?” I counter a bit feisty.

“Because your scent tells another story. You still smell…young.”

“A month ago what?”

“I turned eighteen a month ago. So yeah. Haven’t found my fated yet and yes, I am ‘young’.” I use air quotes around his wording while rolling my eyes at him deliverately. I can tell that annoys him a little.

He nods.

“How old are you, since I am out at a nightclub with you. I guess I should know HOW much to my senior you are.” I chuckle trying to make an old man joke. I don’t think he caught it though.

“I’m twenty-two. Nate is twenty-one.”

“Oh.” I feel a bit sheepish. He really isn't that much older than me.

“Were you expecting me to be some super old and perverted wolf? Sorry to disappoint.” He says giving me a smirk to indicate his amusement with my surprise.

“I didn’t say that!” I smile and giggle a little, flirting with him without even realizing it.

“Do you want to dance?” He asks me holding his hand out.

I look to Terry and Joan who are standing near me at the bar waiting for our drinks. It looks like its going to be a minute before our drinks are ready so I mindlink them and let them know to bring my drink to me on the dance floor and I would be dancing with Alpha Callen.

I smile and take his hand and let him lead me to the dance floor as ‘Wolves’ by Selena Gomez comes on. It’s the perfect mix of fast and slow that I can use to tease the SHIT out of Alpha Callen.

I begin swaying my hips with his as I wrap my arms around his neck as the song begins and we find a place on the dancefloor. As the beat speeds up, I begin to push away from him keeping my fingertips on his chest as I begin walking around him a few times. He wraps his hands around my waist trying to pull me back into his chest and into a tight embrace. I allow it once or twice until the beat really picks up. It’s a very sexy and intimate movement. When I get to his back, I wrap my arms around his big, broad, and muscular back and place my hands on his chest and start grinding against him just as the tempo picks up. I turn and put my back against his and push my ass against his as I drop to the ground touching my toes moving back up slowly letting him feel every inch of my physique as I move up and down his back.

I can tell this is getting him going. He grabs my waist and pulls me back to face him and I catch his shirt to keep me from tripping into his chest. I keep swaying back and forth, still using my fingertips to graze the skin on his arms he has exposed since he wore a short sleeve shirt. It’s tantalizing and even turning me on. I jump up into his arms and wrap my legs around his waist and bring my lips so close to his before moving my face from staring him in the eyes to his neck where I breath a hot breath on the place his mate would mark him. I lick his neck here before hopping down off of him. He doesn’t let me go, but glides me to the corner of the dancefloor, which engulfs most of the club.

“You’re playing a very dangerous game little one,” He smirks, staring me in the eyes as he secures me into a corner of the club. Upon realizing this, I feel Bree panic.

‘Why are you so freaked out about him? He seems harmless enough towards us.’

‘He’s powerful,’ is all she says to me and I can feel how scared she is of him.

I smirk back at him, wrapping my arms around his neck. I won’t show him how fucking nervous Bree is and I certainly won’t let him think I am afraid of him at all! His intimidation tactics might work on my wolf, but he’s still a man and that side of him doesn’t scare me one bit.

“I like to live dangerously,” I retort and with that, he leans in and claims my lips with his.

‘Celeste…don’t. He’s dangerous!’ Bree shouts and I push her back to the back of my mind as I enjoy the current lip-lock session I was sharing with Alpha Callen.

As expected, Terry comes gliding by at the exact moment handing me my Long Island Iced Tea I ordered from the bar. I break away from the kiss and begin sucking down the delicious concoction, “I LOVE YOU TERRY!”

“You know it girl!” He shouts back as he stalks off disappearing into the crowd with Joan.

As I suck down my drink, Alpha Callen begins making an assault of his kisses down my neck and to my collarbone. It sends shivers and goosebumps up and down my arms, but feels FANTASTIC! I moan as I quickly finish the drink which gives him the confirmation he needed to continue his advances. I quickly look around for somewhere to place my empty drink. Alpha Callen immediately takes the drink from my hands and bends down to place it in the corner on the floor we are standing in. I smile and roll my eyes to say, ‘Why didn’t I think of that!?’ and he looks up and grins at me before beginning to slowly stand back up, using my leg as a guide for one of his hands.

His touch is soft and gentle as his hand continues sliding higher and higher up my leg, and continues under my skirt when he is fully up.

“I just need to check something real quick…” He whispers in my ear with a smirk on his face, as I feel his fingers slide under my panties and go straight to my core, feeling around for my clit. I gulp and take in a deep breath. I am turned on. He is very kind on the eyes, with short dirty blonde hair, a chiseled jawline, a gorgeous olive complexion, and baby facial features. These were no comparison to his golden brown eyes and pristine physical physique. He was definitely attractive, to say the least, sexy and the kind of man everyone should fear.

“Slow it down a bit mister…I’m going to need another drink if you think you’re going anywhere near that!” I giggle trying to push his hand away.

“Mmm…so wet already…for me.” He whispers kissing my neck. My hormones were screaming - ‘FUCK HIM!’ While my head and wolf were screaming, ‘RUN!’

“ALPHA CALLEN!” I giggle and push him back, forcing myself out of the current situation he had me cornered in, trying to play off how uncomfortable he was beginning to make me.

“Where do you think you’re going?” His eyes were flashing between the golden brown they normally were and black, clearly showing me how close his wolf was to taking over his control.

“Who, lil ol’ me? Oh! I’m going to get me another drink!” I smile innocently, darting towards the bar in a ‘try and catch me’ glare.

Clearly, my challenge was accepted because he was behind me in a flash, wrapping his arms around my waist as I ordered two more long islands. I needed some serious liquid courage at this point. Playing with fire meant more than I realized and I was trying my hardest to keep myself from getting in over my head with this wolf. Bree felt out of her depth the minute we met the guy.

“Don’t get too out of hand little one. Wouldn’t want you making a mess in my back seat.” I roll my eyes at his comment. I am TRYING to have a good time, while clearly playing with fire in more than one way.

“Where is that beta of yours? Isn’t he supposed to entertain you too?” I ask him with a somewhat annoyed tone of voice.

“He’s finding…others to entertain him at the moment…” I see him survey the club and smirk when he sees his Beta dancing with not one, but two she-wolves over by the VIP section we have seats in.

“Maybe he is willing to share?” I grin as I begin sucking down my third Long Island.

“I’m not interested.” He deadpans almost growling.

My eyes grow big with sarcasm, “Sorry…just thought you liked to thoroughly enjoy the time you get to let your hair down…my mistake. I think you have something stuck up there behind you…” I point as I continue sipping my drink.

He doesn’t get my joke at first as he looks behind him, “What?”

“Oh…that stick…it’s so far…” I say seriously until I see his concerned expression drop to a pissed off look as he realizes I’m making fun of him.

I start laughing loudly, “It’s so far up your ass, I’m not sure we will be able to get it out!”

That pissed him off and he yanks my wrist and pulls me and my two drinks away from the bar.

“I don’t SHARE…anything that’s MINE.” He growls pulling me closer to him dragging me to another dimly lit area of the club.

“I’m not yours,” I say point-blank, realizing my tongue is REALLY going to get me in trouble if I don’t learn to bite it from time-to-time.

“Do you want to be? It can be arranged.” He smirks as his eyes go fully black. I’m talking to his wolf now.

“I’m good.” I beam back, which enrages his wolf.

“Who's to say you have a say in that decision anyways little one?” He smirks back at me.

“My father, actually.” I give him a shit eating grin as I finish off my third drink and begin sucking down my fourth as fast as I can. I need more liquid courage to keep this up or I’m going to end up getting my ass beat by SOMEONE tonight. It may not be Alpha Callen, but my father wasn’t beneath beating my ass when I was out of line. He just found creative ways to do it that made me regret my life choices on a whole other level.

His smirk drops immediately and at that moment a new song comes on and I finish my fourth drink, grabbing his wrist and pulling him back to the center of the dance floor in an effort to distract him from his reaction, “OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS SONG!” I have no idea what song this is, but I am trying to distract him so, I don’t really care.

“You like old school eighties hairband songs?” He looks at me shocked and confused as I raise my arms in the air and begin swaying my hips up against him and then wrap my arms around his neck.

“SUUUURRE! LOVE THEM!” I laugh continuing to try to distract him with my sloppy dancing.

“CELESTE!” I hear from behind me. I turn around and see Roger, one of my ex-boyfriends from a few years ago.

“ROGER! HOW ARE YOU?” I glide my dancing over to him and give him a hug.

Just as quickly as I glided to Roger to hug him, Alpha Callen grabs the back of my shirt and pulls me back to him with a growl.

“When did you get into Quiet Riot and eighties music?!” Roger asks me. Damnit Roger is fucking my shit up already!

“I’ve changed since we last spoke! It’s been three years Roger! You still like all the same shit you did three years ago?” I immediately go on the defense, getting angry and fast. I also feel how fast the alcohol is hitting me and making me lose my balance.

I was looking for a distraction, I just wasn’t looking for a bar fight as a distraction but if it’s in the cards then HERE WE GO!

‘You need to calm the fuck down Celeste!’ Bree shouts.

‘Why do you ALWAYS have to be a buzz kill?’ I growl to her.

‘Because you’re BUZZ is going to get US KILLED dipshit!’

She wasn’t wrong. One way or another I was digging myself a shallow grave, so I did what I know how to do best…fake! I grab my mouth with my hands and bulge my eyes out to make it appear like I am going to puke and immediately run from between the two wolves towards the door. Alpha Callen was already being defensive with Roger, but this took his attention away from Roger and put it back on me.

“Shit! She’s going to puke!” I hear Alpha Callen say behind me.

I push the door to the club open and rush outside into the night air. I run over by a dumpster and pretend like I’m dry-heaving, peaking up to see who followed me. Only Alpha Callen did. Well…at least the awkward moment between my ex and this alpha is over.

“I think…I’m…going…to puke!” I dry-heave again holding a hand out as if to say, stay away if you don’t want to see me puke my brains out.

That does it and he goes and leans up against the brick wall of the building we just came out of.

“When you’re done, I’ll take you home,” He says with a sigh.

I wait a minute or two before coming back out from behind the dumpster, seeing Alpha Callen still waiting for me.

“Do you have a napkin by chance?” I ask.

“You didn’t throw up,” He glares at me suspiciously.

“I still have stuff on my face I want to wipe away. Do you have one or not?!” I growl.

He sighs and hands me a napkin he had stuffed in his pocket. I quickly glance at it, noticing something written on it. A phone number. This makes me suspicious, but I just roll my eyes. If I had a dollar for every she-wolf that hit on an unmated alpha at a nightclub, I’d be filthy rich. I wipe my face on the napkin, spitting all over the number to make it something he won't want back.

“I’ll take you home,” I hear him say as he walks towards the parking lot where his car is.

“What about your beta?” I ask stumbling behind him.

“He can find his own way back to the packhouse. He’s…resourceful.”

I nod catching up to him.

When we reach the packhouse, I get out of the car.

“Well, tonight was fun! See you later!” I smile politely grabbing my clutch before heading towards my house.

“You aren’t going inside?”

“I live a block away.”

“You don’t live in the packhouse?” Alpha Callen looks confused.

“I’m the gamma’s daughter. I don’t live in the packhouse. That is only for the alpha, beta, and their families,” I remind him and he nods looking as if he is just now realizing he was messing around with a gamma, not a beta or alpha female. At that, I rolled my eyes again and turned to walk towards my house.

“Your eyes are going to be stuck like that if you keep it up.” He growl-shouts in my direction.

“I’d like to see them do that!” I laugh hollering my retort back towards him, not bothering to look back.
