CONTINUATION…
After a few more pages of thrilling and interesting takes about the humans that could transform into powerful wolves, Sir Nich retired back to his work and I was left with the book in hand. He had read to me some more pages of the book and I had learnt that the Lobos or Lupine human, bread with ordinary humans and increased their numbers in mass. They had extended life spans of about two hundred years and aged rather slowly.
Although Sir Nich told me time over time that the tales of the Lupine humans were myths and were made up millennia ago as folk tales, I still thought that they could be a truth to it. I looked at more and more pictures of the creatures and Sir Nich had told me that they draw their energy from the moon light. He had also told me that a Lupine human would be able to transform into a Lobo at day time but will revert back to its human form when the power it had drawn from the moon runs out.

CHAPTER 13 — FOR LOVE.TUESDAYWaking up was the easy part of sleeping. It was like you blinked and all the hours had passed by in a mere second. We got home yesterday and I went off to sleep. I had woken up quite early today, sleeping just wasn’t as interesting as I knew it was supposed to be, sleeping was becoming more of a chore than a necessity now. I could sleep whole days without a single dreams, not even a flash . I did not know if the fact I could not dream in my sleep came with the fact I was a vampire now, or if I had been like this even before I got impurified. It was like a living, breathing part of me had been brutally torn away.I remembered details of yesterday, all what I had read about the Lupine humans and my great aspiration to figure out the myth. The old curator at the library had told me just enough about his past. From what I had understood he was an obsessed researcher who wanted to figure out as much as he could about
WEDNESDAYJhan came back home in the evening looking rather tired. He spoke little with Jereum before making is way up the stairs. Jhan was busy most of the time. He was no adjudicator but he still had an in important role to play. His job as a survey elite also included training younger amateur vampires which was s daily task.I passed the night wide awake and as soon as it was seven in the morning is saw Jhan and Jereum already in the parlour."Is everything alright Jhan?" I asked him, after he had a brief word over with Jereum, who was now frowning."Err... Yes Kaldar, just a little issues with our patrols," he said, and I believed him. If it was something serious he would tell me... Right? They left the house shortly after that, both wearing silver boots and their brown jackets."Soon be back love," Tia said, and she planted a kiss on my cheek before she followed after them.It was a cloudy day, or
THURSDAYLEYA'S P.O.V.I never slept with my eyes closed; it wasn't actually sleep kind of like a temporary shutdown of my body but not my mind so I woke up with my eyes open. Breathing in the fresh fumes from the plants that occupied my room. The light from the sky outside was still grey. I faked a yawn before hopping down from my bed. The grey watering can on the shelf was still full of water. I picked it up and titled it over the plants in my room. One by one until I was done with them all.Next I popped into my bathroom and took a warm water shower, humming a nursery rhyme as I did so. Once I was done I picked out any random little dress from my wardrobe. I never wore a dress twice and Jhan kept on bringing home newer dressed for me. The ones I had worn I'll keep in an open box beside my bed. Jhan would carry them out at the end of the month and give them to the girls at the orphanages. The dress I picked was blue, with little yellow flo
JHAN'S P.O.V.I and Tia left without Jereum today. He said he had been suspecting Kaldar was leaving the house to an unknown place and returning before we would return back home. The walk to the end of town was usually filled with Tia's jokes and jests but today even she seemed awfully quiet. Tia wasn't the sad type like Leya, or the grumpy type like Jereum. She was the joy of all of us. With Kaldar now making the weird one. We were complete. I was their leader, their advisor. The serious big brother who found them all. They all looked up like their demi god. Mostly Leya though, Jereum knew I had acquired my knowledge over time. I wasn't looking forward to impurifying any new members. We were a team of five. Tia was silent because today would be the first day she would be tasked with training the young vampires who wanted to become survey elites and adjudicators. She had been quite nervous since but I had reassured her that it wouldn't be a big deal. Not
FRIDAYNight fell, the rest were not back from their activities and the only other person in the house was Leya. I glanced at the clock, it was past eight. I checked the kitchen but there was no flask, probably Jhan would bring it with him back.Leya who was in the silence of her room, had finally decided to go to school. Something I had talked her into. I had about two more hours of my own freedom till my family returned and I had to make the most of it.I went to Leya's room and knocked on her door."Kaldar?""Yes Leya, it's me," I said, "I'll be leaving the house but I'll be back soon.""Okay, I'll be fine," She said. I got downstairs and exited the door. Glancing to either side of the road before dashing down the sidewalks.I got around Dawn’s house and to my surprise I saw her sitting by her windowsill, a book in her hand. She noticed my presence.“I’ve been waiting for you," she said, a bri
ONE WEEK LATER. FRIDAYA week had passed since I star gazed was with Dawn. The early light of dawn in the morning reminded me of her and I cherished every moment we shared, reliving it over and over again in my head.I felt myself becoming more and more attached to Tia and sometimes she’d even caught me staring at her from across the room, I’d quickly avert my eyes but that didn’t take away the awkwardness that came with it. Today was like every other day—boring. I slept through the entire day in my attic-room and woke up at seven in the evening.I had made sure that Leya went to school in the morning again, even suggesting to walk her but she refused and walked off by herself. Jhan drove her and dropped her off when she'd agree but the girl liked her alone time. And accordingly to what she told me, she knew a shortcut to her school, which was basically climbing over a few buildings, allowing her to skip over three blocks th
CONTINUATION…I chased after Tia, matching her speed was easy but I slowly couldn’t keep up with the constant bending and twisting around empty houses. She was still ahead of me, I could easily catch up to her if I wanted to but I kept my sped at a moderate pace for fear of falling again. I had already fallen three times and I was lucky she didn't notice. The wind whizzed past my ears, blowing around my body and billowing my shirt. I spotted a few more shadowy figures and I thought I even saw one move instead of their usual stationary, statue like stature.Tia came to an abrupt halt, I sped past her before also stopping on my tracks and then jogging back up to her,"Tired?" I asked."Are you kidding me? That was merely a warm up," She patted me on the shoulder.I looked ahead, the tree tops were getting closer."It's just up ahead," I said."I know." She glanced around. I spotted two watchers, one at
FRIDAYI had swooped Tia, running as fast as I could. I glanced back periodically, and spotted the beasts. They were about five foot in height and were indeed chasing after us.I ran faster and faster, I could now see the beginning of the forest. My heart was pounding in my chest and I could hear Tia's heart as it galloped inside her. I was almost out of the forest when I spotted a figure leap from our side towards us. The beast would have probably gotten us but I was faster. I leapt about ten feet into the air. The beast missed and landed on the open road.We had also landed onto the open road and I saw the animal clearly under the moon light. Tia looked at it with fear in her eyes; it was the first time I had never seen her this scared. A cars headlight shun from behind it. I dashed to the other forested side of the road and the creature jumped back into the side we had just come out of. I watched silently, through Supreme vision, as the beasts l
