Fermion POV

As I sat at my office, glancing down into the pack. My eyes staring straight at the healing bay where she was in, still unable to leave until she was okay and I sighed. I had left her yesterday when she hid from me– but I had to be rational, she had gone through so much and so little could set her off.

But that name had struck a cord within me, Osiris. I knew him, very well or I thought I did. What had happened to him and how was he related to my mate.

My mind raced back to the memory that I still held dear even till now.

I was just ten when I had stumbled into a trap, hadn't gotten my lycan yet and was still finding it hard to do so without fear but he had come for me when he heard me screaming.

Using his hands, he had held open the trap’s spikes so I could take my leg out and as I watched his bleeding hands and his smiling face, I swore to repay him handsomely when I was something.

“What pack are you from, little boy?” He has asked with a smile as he wrapped his hands by himself while I stared, nurturing my leg that he had also bandaged befire doing his.

“Moon pack” his eyes snapped to mine for a minute and I saw sympathy, not pity which I had always been regarded with but sympathy.

He didn't pity me, he was sympathetic with my situation. “My pack doesn't accept Moon Pack’s members or I would take you in immediately” he sounded pained at this notion but I wasn't.

Meeting him was enough for me. “I know, that's why I steered clear of the patrol guards. How did you get past your borders?” My words had made him surprised and he had to look me over and I cracked a laugh at his surprise.

“How does a kid speak so old?” He asked and I sighed which he had understood before he explained how he had tricked them with some liquor and had sneaked out to get the petals his wife needed to make him his favorite drink.

“I'm Osiris, by the way” he waved as he left and that was when I found the bag filled with water cans and food he had left behind.

I smiled at the place he had disappeared into before I left also. He had intentionally forgotten it.

My thoughts were scattered by the sound of the door opening and a sniff had me turning to face Jared, my beta.

“What's the problem?” I asked and he cracked a smile.

“Why should there be a problem?” He asked and I gave him a look.

“Because you're a bringer of bad news. Logan can bring the good news but you never do” I informed and he glared at me, Logan was my gamma and he was a cheerful one while Jared was the stuff but caring one so I knew even when he didn't.

“Alpha Keystone seeks for an audience with you” Alpha keystone was notorious for his ways with women, he was always buying them and making them disappear and I had been in his case for some time now to no avail.

I had resolved to reach out with an intention of asking him to sell me some women which was repulsive to me because I could never involve myself with such but I had to take measures or the council members would never accept the conviction without significant evidence to back it up.

But he was reaching out even before I could and I had a feeling it would not be good at all.

“Why? What's his proposition?” I asked and he looked away with a small smile that had my hackles going up.

“He wants to mate his daughter to you” the fuck?.

“His daughter?” I questioned, the sound of it all was disgusting to my ears. He had to know I was investigating him by now or that someone was and I would go with the latter for him to suddenly want to do this then he must be desperate for powerful allies and who else than I.

Jared gave me a nod.

“Allow him the audience be asked for. Tell him to bring this daughter of his. She would be leverage” I smirked as a plan began to form inside my mind and Jared took a second before he understood what I was aiming at.

“You want him to play right into your hands” he sounded on board with the plan and I gave him a small nod of affirmation before turning to face the healing bay with resolve settling deep within me.

I had acted like a jerk yesterday and had not felt like she would want to see me but right now.

I was going to meet her and I would do whatever it took to make her see that I was to be trusted. But first things first.

“Tell Logan to better have something for me soon or I would really be angry” I knew he understood what I was saying because he nodded solemnly before he turned to lesve but stopped.

“Why are you doing all this for her?” He asked, as though the notion surprised and confused him at the same time.

“Don’t you know yet or has Myra been keeping her mouth shut?” I asked, Myra was a gossiper and telling her secrets was never adviced but she also had a strong sense of perception and knew things before you even said it and he simply stared at me, still not understanding what I meant.

Many called it a gift when they heard about it. As her brother, I called it a curse.

“Talk to Myra” I shrugged before I stood up and left him in my office, taking the stairs down towards the healing bay when a scream had my whole body going rigid.
