Pain, Only Pain And Rejection

Eliana POV

A cold feeling had me snapping my eyes open only to discover that I had been doused down with chilling cold water and I gasped loudly, taking in what air I could into my lungs as my throat burned.

“You're awake, good. Be awake so you can be a witness to what happens today” the cruel voice of Alpha Garard filled my ears and I forced myself to my knees, unable to stand to my feet and knowing that even if I could, they'd force me back to my knees anyway.

“H-haven't you had enough?” I stuttered, feeling a small bit of relief at the way my voice came out even though some of it was in a stutter.

He laughed at my words before Jason backhanded me straight in my face And it sent me sprawling back the ground with a cry of pain and my mother's distinct wails began to reach my ears.

She was still kneeling down with Father but now she had a rope wrapped around her neck and the same with father too. They wouldn't.

“No, mother… father. You can't do this” I cried out, forcing myself to crawl up to them but hands held me down, coming to grab my hair and pull it up. Positioning it to watch clearly as my mother was brought to her feet, same as father.

They were made to stand on a bench, father made to try and fight back but fell to the side instead and alpha Gerard laughed at him with amusement.

“What did you do to me?” A chilling realization filled my heart.

“Wolfsbane” just a word, that word destroyed my entire life. Father would have been able to fight back if he hadn't been given wolfsbane without his knowledge.

“I sent some cakes back with Eliana, my darling yesterday after our last session. They held wolfsbane brought in by my son's Luna, Jade” alpha Gerard smirked with satisfaction and my eyes widened with fear.

“You poisoned the food?” Father questioned with his last word coming out in a choke and I felt my whole body go weak completely. The pain felt dull as the rope was tightened by some guards. The hand on my skull felt like nothing as alpha Gerard walked up to them with smiles.

“I will keep your daughter alive so I can remind her who won at the end, who took the throne as the alpha will be my son” he spat at father and his face contorted in pain.

“I never wanted to fight with you on it. I was planning to leave th-”

“As long as you all live, you pose a threat to me and my legacy” alpha Gerard cut father off and just as father went to respond, he slammed his feet into the bench and it gave way under father.

“Father…!” I exclaimed as his hands tried to grasp at his throat but the chains held them back, his legs kicked wildly as he choked before my very eyes.

“Osiris” mother's painful wail made me want to shut my eyes but the reminder that I was the one who brought back the cakes of wolfsbane that made father this immobile made me stare with pain.

“Bab-” mother choked instantly on her words as Jason stepped forward with glee in his face and without any warning, he kicked off the bench holding her weight.

“You are all monsters… let them go” father was losing the fight in him and soon his feet stopped kicking and he gasped for air one last time before his eyes rolled into his head and he slumped into the rope.

I feared uttering the word as my eyes moved to that of my mother and as she choked, she sent me one last smile before her eyes went wide and she forced out a gasp to force air into her lungs but couldn't before she also gave up.

Her eyes turned lifeless, staring straight at alpha Gerard with terror and her hands still reaching for father slumped to her sides and that was when the worst of all cries left my lips.

I screamed at the top of my lungs at what had unfolded before my very eyes. They were both dead and this was all because I was too weak to be a wolf or I would have smelt the wolfsbane and would have probably saved us before any of this ever happened.

If only father hadn't trusted me or his brother too much, he would have cross checked the cakes and all this would not have happened.

“What a pretty sight. You did good son” Alpha Gerard said to his son, I could hear some faint thuds and I knew theu were coming towards me.

“Thanks dad. It was exhilarating” he responded and I felt pain sliced through me, my own mate had been the one to murder my parents in cold blood after he rejected me for being without a wolf.

I could have laughed bitterly if the pain slicing through me was not so much that I knew making the wrong move would set me off and break me down.

“Oh darling, don't be sad. They served their course” my eyes turned to that of Alpha Gerard but he only smiled before nodding at his son wo backhanded me once again in the face and I was sent stumbling into the wall, my head slamming into it hard enough to cause dark spots to cover my vision.

My pain came from so much— but one thing stood out to me and the more I thought of it, the more it hurt so much more than anything ever could. Father didn't know, he never knew till he was murdered that the party mother and I had planned for this evening was not just for show but for the announcement of the life she was carrying, it was for what he had always wanted for years and now when he had finally gotten it, he was brutally murdered in cold blood by his own brother and best friend whom he had given up everything for. Mother had been carrying for him. I choked up at the thought.

Mother was pregnant… and as confirmed by the healer, with twins boys.
