Her fate caught up with her

Crystal's eyes widened in both surprise, shock and anxiousness. What was he saying to her? She was the solution to stop the fight? What about Erick? What about her marriage? She had loved him for years wishing to get married to him.

Everyone was equally shocked too, they all turned towards Lorcan in surprise. It came as a shock and as a problem to them too, Idris was surprised but he felt more scared to hear that. What he feared most all his life was happening, no no no he couldn't let it happen.

Erick move towards Lorcan and raised his fist to hit him but Lorcan was fast enough to twist his body because of his werewolf speed. "Is this some kind of play to you? Do you think you can badge into my wedding and say this to my bride? Get out." Erick started mumbling in anger.

"Get out, get out of here. This is all rubbish, crystal isn't going anywhere with you. Go!" He screamed trying to push them away. Tears began falling from Crystal's eyes at Erick's fear and panic, she didn't want to leave him too.

"That's enough Erick, No one is going anywhere. They don't know what they are saying, they are both liars." Erick's mother muttered holding her son in her hands to console him. She turned towards the village head "is this true sir? Tell me they are lying, they are lying right? They are both liars." She questioned him.

The village head who was confused and didn't know what to do brought his head down, helplessness was evident in his gaze. Crystal was like a daughter to him too and he would never play a prank like this on her, but this was the king's order.

"Am afraid they are not lying to everyone, the only way to stop the war between humans and werewolves is for Crystal to marry the king. If she doesn't then we are all going to die" He brought them to the realization of things.

"Let them die, let them for but I can't let Crystal leave here. I will get married to her no matter what." Erick mumbled moving back to the altar, "you will stay with me right?" He questioned Crystal.

Big fat tears fell from Crystal's eyes, she didn't know how to answer him or tell him she isn't going to stay with him. The life of everyone else was more important to her to think of her happiness, she would render save Erick's life than get married to him.

Idris gazed with worry at his daughter, he could believe destiny had caught up with her so soon. He moved towards crystal holding onto her hand, "don't do this crystal, you can't leave Erick like this." He whispered trying to stop her.

"Dad I don't want to but if I don't then he will die, sooner or later every one of us will die father." Crystal whispered back to her dad. "I will be alright dad, you don't have to worry about me." Crystal comforted her father.

The villager was still busy murmuring among themselves wondering what would happen when Crystal's voice echoed, "I will go, you can take me with you to the palace."

Everyone turned to her in surprise and shock, Erick turned to her with a stunned expression. Her hand that he was holding onto her let go of, "what? What did you say?" Erick questioned angrily.

"Listen, Erick, I can't let everyone for because of me. You have to let me go, this wedding won't work. The almighty doesn't want us together, try to understand this Erick." Crystal mumbled in a choked-up voice.

Alistair and Lorcan glanced and gazed at her in wonder, they wondered how she could be so mature and at the same time stupid not to realize where she was been sent. For goodness sake, she was going to the werewolf king's palace.

"Mr. Let's go inside the house, I want to discuss something with you." Crystal mumbled moving towards her house, Lorcan and Alistair walked after her. Idris shook his head in worry and fear, she was yet to be 20 but she was already amid mystical beings.

The murmurs from the villagers turned to pitiful sounds, they felt pity for Crystal. Some cried and others silently shook their head.

Inside Idris's house, Crystal quickly walked into her room and shut the door. Her knees gave out and she fell on the ground sobbing, all her bravery from a few minutes ago was completely gone.

"Mr. Why, does the king want my daughter? Can't she escape from this? She can't stay among wolves in the castle." Idris mumbled to Lorcan.

Lorcan raised his head from its downward position and turned towards Idris, "you don't have to worry sir, your daughter is in safe hands. Nothing will happen to her." Lorcan muttered in a low tone.

Idris studied Lorcan for a while before nodding his head although he was still not convinced.

Five minutes passed and Crystal came out of the room dressed in a pale pink gown that looked completely worn out. She walked towards her dad and pulled him into a tight hug, a tear fell from her eyes as she held onto him.

Idris patted his daughter's back with care, "you will be alright Crystal, am always here for you." He silently told her.

"I will miss you dad so much." Crystal muttered pulling away from her dad, "can't I take him with me?" She questioned Lorcan turning to him.

"No miss, we can't take him along but rest assured your father will be safe," Lorcan remarked. Crystal nodded and they all walked out of the house, a royal carriage was standing outside Crystal's house.

All the villagers, stood together to send her off. They all had tears in their eyes. Crystal waved to those she could before climbing into the carriage.

Soon the carriage set off on its journey, Crystal stared out the window wondering what kind of faith awaits her in the palace.
