INICIAR SESIÓN=== JANET’S POV ===
"Janet, are you feeling better?" Neville’s gentle voice reached my ears.
When I opened my eyes, my four mates were standing before me. I was lying in Neville’s lap.
“You just had a seizure. Your eyes rolled back into your head. Do you feel pain anywhere?” the Omega asked.
I shook my head, suddenly noticing his flushed, red hand where I had been resting. "Did I bite you?"
“I had to make sure you didn't bite your tongue,” Neville replied bashfully.
I took his hand and rubbed the bite mark. "I’m so sorry."
"Can someone tell me what just happened?" Ray called out, his voice laced with a sigh of relief now that I was stable.
“I don’t know. This is the first time it’s ever happened to me.” The tattoo on my wrist was much clearer now than it had been last night. I turned to them. “Where are your tattoos?”
"They’re gone. I think they only reappear when we bond," the Beta explained.
"Meaning, once you mark me, I officially become your mate," I said, tracing the ink on my wrist.
"Seems that way. Want me to give it a try?" Ray smirked mischievously.
I rubbed my temples. "I’m tired."
“Neville will stay here with you. The Alphas and I have things to discuss.” Leo brushed a stray lock of hair behind my ear. I was surprised he didn't remind me that I "could only choose one" when mentioning the mate bond.
"I’m not a baby," I snapped back.
"Then stop crying like one," Frank remarked, adjusting the buttons on his shirt cuffs.
"Wait, why do I have to leave? I was going to stay here and complete my challenge!" Ray shouted as he saw the two Alphas heading for the door.
"Fine. See you later, darling!" Ray kissed my forehead and ran off after them.
"He’s definitely going to be the first one eliminated," I muttered.
Bill followed them but didn't leave without a threat. "I have things to take care of, but tonight, you’re going to tell me why you looked like you were possessed by a demon!"
I buried my face in Neville’s chest as he stroked my hair, complaining, "A bunch of arrogant, handsome, attractive bastards."
Neville chuckled, still maintaining his usual timid demeanor.
If I truly had five mates, Neville would be the most disadvantaged due to the overwhelming presence of the other four. I would have to find a way to balance my attention among them all. But fortunately, I wouldn't have any mates at all, because I intended to reject them.
Around 7:00 PM, Bill called me and said I had to go to Petroff Manor for an important Mystic Vale meeting.
Neville and I headed there immediately.
The courtyard of the Petroff estate was already packed. Everyone’s face was etched with anxiety. I clung to Neville’s arm, my eyes searching for the others in my mate group.
Instead, someone even more loathsome appeared.
"Snitching bitch," Eli muttered as he walked past me on a fully healed leg, his voice just loud enough for me to hear.
I didn't understand what was happening until Alpha Leo stood at the entrance to announce, "From today, our pack will have a new law regarding mate marking. If there is no mutual consent, the attacker must forfeit their assets to the victim and will have no right to demand mate duties from them. The full details and other points are listed in the email I sent. You have one hour starting now to cast your votes of approval or rejection. All questions should be submitted with your ballots; Alpha Frank will answer them in thirty minutes. Thank you all for coming to learn about this new legislation."
A notification chimed. I assumed it was the email Leo had mentioned. Indeed, there was a message regarding the pack's new laws and penalties. But there was something else, too...
"Oh my god, this is definitely Ray and Bill’s doing," Neville said, bursting into laughter.
I realized it was a video taken from my home's security camera. The main content was the fight from this morning, but edited to mock Eli—showing him lunging to bite me in the posture of a cockroach.
This time, I laughed. My laughter was loud and unmistakable. Especially when I saw that Leo had included my name in the credits for contributing to the legal improvements.
Damn, my men were talented. I didn't think he could pull this off in a single day right after I suggested it.
Up on the stage, Alpha Emmett was approaching Leo and whispering something in his ear.
“This isn't good,” I muttered. I happened to see Ray running toward us.
“Eli came over here and called Janet a snitch. What did you guys do?” the Omega asked the Alpha Warrior.
“Eli’s been suspended for two weeks,” Ray said proudly, winking at me. "This time he’ll have to stay home with a monitor and won't be able to bother you anymore."
“Wait, did I just hear you laugh? Just wanted you to know the video was my idea, and Bill was the one who made it. So... we win.”
“It was a group effort. Since the group made her laugh out loud, the whole group wins,” Bill said, looking at Neville. "Neville also played a part by providing the surveillance footage from Janet’s front door."
"Nah, we’ll settle that later. I need to use the toilet." I hurriedly dodged the topic.
I went looking for Leo and Frank, thinking they were currently enduring a lecture from Alpha Emmett.
Halfway there, someone covered my mouth and shoved me into a corner. I struggled and kicked the person in the groin.
The man punched me in the stomach, causing my body to double over. Every muscle contracted in burning agony.
"That’s a threat for interfering in things that aren't your business," Alpha Emmett said.
He grabbed my hair and pulled my head back, forcing me to face him. "Either shut your mouth and fulfill your duties as a Luna, or I will ruin the miserable life of your Omega mate. You cunning little bitch!"
He let go of me. A wave of terror threatened to claw at my heart. How did he know? Were we that obvious?
Before I could stand up to argue, he was gone. My knees were aching terribly.
My stomach throbbed. I gasped for air, trying to find something to lean on.
I started to feel a creeping sense of anxiety.
Dammit, dammit. He knew about us. He was targeting Neville. Did he know anything about my curse?
Probably not. If he did, with the strength of an Alpha, he would have killed me instead of telling me to obediently become Leo's Luna.
“Thank the gods Ray stopped Dani from snapping Janet’s neck. Otherwise, I would never have been able to face her. Bill was right; I should have stopped this. Janet’s recklessness is one thing, but I was a fool to believe in her capabilities. That witch definitely did something to the woman I love—something I simply cannot change.” – Alpha Frank.== LEO’S POV =="How the hell did she lose?" I roared at my nearest Beta."Please, calm down, sir," the Beta replied."Call Frank," I commanded. The Beta obeyed. I ordered him to place the tablet on the desk and dismissed him. We were in a hotel room in France; as soon as my private jet was ready, I would be leaving immediately. But first, I needed to know how my Janet was doing."You’d better have a damn good reason for all of this, Frank," I snapped the moment Frank answered the call.On the other end, Frank was in a four-wheel-drive vehicle, pointing the camera toward the front. Janet was lying in Ray’s lap, her entire body covered in blood
“My visions appeared again. I truly don't know what they mean. In them, Janet was with me, and Bill was in a temple. What does it signify? The only thing I can be certain of after seeing it is that Janet will not die after tomorrow’s match. Not only that, but she will have more time for Bill and me. Call me selfish, but the Alphas keep clinging to her. It makes me want to keep Janet for myself, regardless of the situation.” – Omega Neville.== JANET’S POV ==“Does she actually think she’s going to win against Janet?” Ava burst out laughing.Several others in the pack whispered amongst themselves. The basement grew increasingly rowdy.I made a serious suggestion. "This is a matter for the Alpha’s life. Let him decide."Dani reached out her hand. "Give me your phone. I’ll call Alpha Leo to verify."“Alpha Kristy?” Noticing the girl whose lips were curled into a smirk at the entertainment before her, I asked, "Are you not going to do anything?""Oh, I’ve realized that we should listen to
“The most interesting thing at the bar today was realizing that Janet has a copy—identical in everything except appearance. Dani’s defiance, stubbornness, and scheming are no different from Janet’s. The only reason Dani loses out is that she isn't as adroit as Janet, perhaps because she is still too young.” – Alpha Kristy.== JANET’S POV ==The bar in Motina had recently opened a combat arena in the basement. It attracted many werewolves from the lower levels, and I was among them. The red-haired girl I had met yesterday was standing in the ring, fighting a brawny Beta male. The battle was intense. She was agile, hooking his leg and striking at his throat. The crowd cheered wildly as she twisted his neck and pinned him to the floor. The aura Dani radiated felt incredibly familiar, though I couldn't quite place why. Looking at her only made me remember my former strength.“You’re spacing out a lot today. You alright?” Vanya nudged my arm. She raised an eyebrow with concern.Indeed, I w
“They always underestimate the position of Luna, as if it were a seat that may or may not exist. But they fail to realize that the lack of a Luna has caused terrible abuses of power these past few months. Those who are weaker need to be heard; they need someone responsible enough to take on that burden, not a whore playing games with her men.” – Beta Dani.== JANET'S POV ==After the day Leo convened the pack to hand out rewards and punishments, I returned to Motina and stayed there permanently. Leo took me out to dinner several times, but we maintained the same distance as before.Only Neville and I knew that I could no longer shift. We were determined to keep it a secret and find a way to resolve it privately.Recently, the pack life had become foreign to me. The sense of connection and the primal urge toward my mates were gone. My senses were dulling. Molly and her house had vanished without a trace.I could not ask her about my condition."Janet!" A loud shout rang in my ear. I fl
“There will always be a price to pay. We were just fools who failed to realize it.” – Omega Neville.== JANET'S POV ==After learning that all of Emmett’s magic had been stripped away, we raced to Petroff Manor as fast as possible. The moment I stepped inside, the pungent, metallic scent of blood made me nauseous. I covered my nose and kept walking.“Sweetheart!”An embrace crashed into me before I even realized it was Leo. He was drenched in blood and sweat. He cupped my face and kissed my cheek. Before his lips could meet mine, I leaned away to avoid him.“What happened?” I asked, ignoring Leo’s stunned expression.“I woke up, and my allies stormed in. They handled the low-level soldiers while I tortured Emmett.” Leo flashed a smile, spreading his arms like a performer taking a bow before an audience. “How do you feel about the show?”I felt awkward. What was I supposed to say to him? I knew perfectly well he had been controlled, but certain things were etched so deeply into my mind
“No one will care about me except for my father. When everything is finished, Leo and Janet will reconcile, while I will be an Omega cast aside once again. I embraced my father, thanking the heavens that he was still alive. I took him to the bedroom. When I returned, Maddox and I embraced each other frantically. Oh, how wonderful it feels to be loved.” – Omega Rika.== LEO'S POV ==My eyes throbbed with a sharp, agonizing pain. I kept them closed for a long time, thinking it was because I had stared at Janet’s phone number for too long. When my eyes opened, I was still holding my phone, the screen displaying her contact information.“Something has happened.” Rika looked at her hands as if she couldn't believe it.I pressed the call button for Janet. Both Rika and I were startled, looking at one another.“I have regained my self-control!” I shouted.“I’m going to find my father,” Rika said, hurrying outside.Janet’s phone wouldn't connect. Why, when I needed it most, could I not reach
"Even a single touch makes me ache with longing. A single glance makes my heart skip a beat. I dare not seize what does not belong to me; I can only dream of it." – Omega Rika.==JANET’S POV=="Hi Bill, could you help me identify the language in this book?" I was sitting on the floor of my basement
"An Alpha's rage always terrifies us. The Omegas who once tried to soothe his anger always ended up injured. But I suppose Janet will be the exception. Because Leo loves Janet, he won't hurt her." – Omega Neville.==JANET'S POV=="So, everything is settled then?" I was sitting next to Vanya in a ho
“This absolute bastard, I’ll see you dead!” – Omega Lea.=== JANET’S POV ===Frank and I hurried toward Anna Night to ask what she needed from us. What she did next made both Frank and me unable to believe our eyes.“Please, give me a ride for a short distance,” she pleaded, kneeling as her voice t
“I almost forgot about her. I even thanked her when I saw her standing by Frank’s hospital bed, wiping the sweat from his brow. I thought she was just another girl infatuated with Frank like Vanya, but she wasn't. She knelt before me, stating she had participated in Frank’s surgery and was also a f
