KEITH’S POV
“Alpha, I have handled everything. The cops won’t bother you anymore but….”
“But?”
“They are adamant about not letting anyone meet Melinda before she gives her statement.”
“That’s fine. What about Melinda? How is she?”
“I heard the doctors saying that she has regained consciousness.”
“That is great…” I took off before he could even complete his sentence; desperate to see her with my own eyes. I rushed to the lift but the doors closed before could enter.
Cursing under my breath, I made my way to the staircase. Taking two steps at a time, I reached the second floor at the same time as the lift.
My heart pounded in anticipation as I hurried towards the general section. I was about to take the turn that led to Melinda’s ward when Chief Edmund blocked my path.
