Ahh, finally! Finally, I made it to my dream university after all these years of working myself to the bone…
Bordwell University, my dream campus.
Standing in front of the lavish campus entrance gate, I couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed by my emotions. My new life begins here…a life where I could provide a good life for my mother who’s the only family I am left with in the whole world. After losing my father to a car accident when I was only 7, my mother was still very young and beautiful.
But without listening to anyone’s advice, she didn’t give up on me and rather raised me all alone facing the turbulence of hardships throughout her whole life. Watching her suffer all her life while holding a serene smile on her lips, ignited the fire within me from a very young age to be very successful in life so that she would never have to work again to make ends meet.
The first step towards my long-awaited goal was to graduate from the most prestigious university in the country…none other than Bordwell University. But the road to success never comes easy. I sacrificed my entire high school life to study like a crazy nerd for the toughest scholarship exam ever held among all the other colleges in the country.
I couldn’t lead a blissful high school life, nor did I get the chance to experience the thrill of first love, like my few friends did back in the school… But before coming here to this campus, I had sworn to myself to enjoy every special moment I had missed out on in my life until now.
My proud and keen ocean eyes gazed at the Literature Department building where I had been accepted as a scholarship student. The chance was given to only one student in the whole country, and as I have grabbed this opportunity…finally it's my time to shine!
While marching ahead, I saw countless pretty young ladies, fresh like cherry blossom amidst the soft spring, walking past me to their respective departments. Watching so many pretty girls around me inside the campus lifted my heart in joy.
I met glances with a few of them, and none of them ignored me at all. Being blessed with a handsome face, friendly nature, and strong Academic background, I knew sooner or later, I would be able to find a girl of my type and fall in love with her…madly than ever.
Who knows, my fate had guided me to be able to find my soulmate here?
At that moment, I turned my neck around to watch a pretty young girl who walked past me towards another building. With a petite round face and long brown hair waving down her shoulder, at first glance, I felt strangely intrigued while watching that girl.
But I didn’t realize my averted attention would make me stumble upon my feet before I could take the stairs to the upper floor.
“Oww!”
With a faint moan, suddenly I bumped my shoulder into a very tall, muscular guy with broad shoulders and shimmering dark black hair. The guy was so strong that he didn’t wince from the bump.
But before I was about to fall and hit the back of my head on the cold floor that guy quickly grabbed me by my waist in the flash of a second using only one arm, while I could see his piercing gaze locked on me.
Damn!
The guy seemed to be near my age, around 20-21, but his facial features were Godly built! He was handsome and beautiful than any other man I have met in my whole 19 years of existence! With bright and smooth white skin, a pointed nose, and a masculine sharp jaw, he seemed to appear straight out of a painting. Was he by chance a model or a celebrity kid, perhaps?
He was wearing a full-sleeved black leather jacket with blue denims, which looked from an expensive brand. Even though he was so dazzlingly handsome, his deep black orbs looked cold as ice. He had a stern dark expression on his face devoid of any smile or politeness he seemed a little irked.
“If you’re too busy being a pervert who checks out other girls rather than watching your steps, I don’t think this campus is the right place for you.”
A cold grumble escaped from his soft red lips, which jolted me back to reality as I was completely mesmerized by his beauty, being held in his arms as our eyes met for the first time.
But his words quickly made me realize despite his outer beauty, he was nothing other than a rude jerk. I balanced myself to stand up properly and broke free from his arms since I felt a bit weird to be held by another man like that as if I was some kind of woman and it was a scene straight out of a teen romance movie.
“I am sorry, Sir. I didn’t see you coming before I bumped into you.” I was a bit vexed by his comment, but still, I bowed my head to apologize humbly.
“How would you if your eyes were busy scanning out the girls here? If you’ve enrolled in this prestigious campus, try to become a model student rather than acting like a perverted little high schooler.” However, that punk crossed his muscular arms before his broad chest while teasing me with a wide arrogant smirk.
Despite my politeness, his rude greeting pissed the hell out of me. Frowning my brows as I met his gaze lifting my head high since that jerk was quite taller than me, at least a few inches.
I scoffed aloud at him, “Stop calling me a pervert, I was only lacking a bit of attention while walking for damn sake! Besides, who are you? Just because you saved me from a fall, it doesn’t give you the right to insult me anyway! I told you I am sorry for bumping into you, what else do you want from me?”
“I have no business or interest with the likes of you guys. But still, I will give you a little advice.” That tall jerk walked a step closer to me and tapped on my shoulder, as I saw his big dark eyes curved with the smug, “If you aren’t going to use your eyes while walking, donate it to someone who needs it. Okay?”
“You…Hey!?” Before my words could fall out, that jerk gallantly walked past me upstairs, still holding that wicked sneer after he succeeded in belittling me.
I stood there, glowering at him from downstairs with my fist clenched, as I was barely resisting my urge to punch his arrogant mouth.
Yes, in my small hometown, I have met a few asshole punks who often intended to put themselves over others…maybe it was some kind of maniac complex they were born with. And this guy seemed one of those kinds to me.
Just because he’s blessed with such dazzlingly gorgeous looks, and saved me from hitting my head hard on my first day here… it still didn’t give him any right to taunt a stranger like me, unless he’s a crazy jerk!
But thanks to this, now I know I must be wary about inside this campus. I must stay the hell away from him because I have no intention of getting involved with the likes of him either.
However… little did I know, that fate had already planned a series of surprises for me, pulling me into the world of darkness which I never knew existed in the first place!
Ethan’s POV:Hermes’s keen gaze glued on me when he tossed the sudden question out of the blue made me feel a little irked inside, since I was already enduring my complicated emotional turmoils from the moment I heard loving a man was forbidden in the Bordwell University. I didn’t know which asshole among the campus board of directors must’ve proposed this rule to be followed here, but if I could catch a glimpse of that man, considering how riled up I was from within, certainly I would’ve asked Zeus to hunt that bastard as his next prey. I exhaled a long sigh and furrowed my brows, trying hard to sound relaxed in front of Hermes to make sure he doesn’t grow overly suspicious of me, “I am not hiding anything from you, fret not. If something was going on in my life, I would’ve let you know already.” “I agree.” He nodded, but didn’t avert his skeptical gaze from my face, as he moved an inch closer, beaming with a subtle smile, “After all, I am your first friend here, Ethan. I am sure y
Ethan's POV:The person was none other than Hermes, standing a few meters apart from me on the deserted hallway, bearing a skeptical gaze as he stared at me. His frigid voice had finched me a bit hard, as out of all the people on the campus, I didn’t expect to meet him here near the library, which was rarely visited by the students of our department. But watching that man suddenly dissipate before my eyes had indeed left me restless with so many questions he left unanswered. For a second, as if everything I had witnessed until now, from the sudden arrow strike to the man protecting me like a guarded shield, felt like a distant hallucination. But blinking my lashes slowly at the crushed arrow dust on the floor helped me to believe it all indeed happened in real life, and they were not my imagination. “Ethan? Are you okay? You look a little pale…” Hermes slowly marched towards me with his curious gaze still fixated on me. Even though having a familiar face around helped me to calm d
Ch 88:Ethan’s POV:The man didn’t shake off his smug face while hearing my ardent queries, but the more I demanded an answer to his questions, the more he seemed hesitant to do it. With a shrug, he retreated a few steps away from me before sounding a bit quirky, “If I answer all of your questions, what will you give me in return?” Damn…his nonchalant way of answering me somehow made me recall Zeus’s habit, who always asked me for a price before he followed my command. Narrowing my orbs at him, I couldn’t help but wonder if both of them were related to each other to share such dazzling looks and habits as well? However, when I was making the contemplative face, he let out a small snort, as his sharp jawline beamed with a radiant smile, “You look pretty cute when you’re mad. I didn’t expect you to be so endearing, Ethan Marley. I must say, you indeed exceeded my expectations.” Now it led me to flinch a little hard, as I immediately retreated a few steps away from him this time. Not
Ethan’s POV:The man had a huge build, with broad buff shoulders that shielded me from that approaching attack like a wall no one could ever invade. Moreover, I didn’t fail to notice he was emitting an impressively enchanting aura that made the air heavy across the hallway. Standing behind him, I grew a little contemplative, because just glancing at his giant posture, it felt uncannily similar to that of Zeus. All my life, I had rarely seen any giant beautiful men with a huge compact build like Zeus, even while growing up in my small hometown. But now, this unknown giant stood tall with his shimmering brown hairs under the sunlight, wavering softly with the mild breeze that flew across the huge open balcony on that hallway. From behind, I also noticed he had refined skin, with a porcelain white complexion, which was also quite similar to Zeus, along with a pointed nose and sharp jawline that could catch anyone’s attention in the blink of an eye. Until now, I was pretty sure that Zeu
Ethan’s POV:Even though I knew Zeus’s apology was long due, considering how harshly he must’ve always behaved towards Emma despite her pure heart for him, it made me feel elated inside, when I watched his onyx eyes were brimming with sincerity when he asked her the question. And as expected of her kind heart, Emma suddenly became a little emotional. While trying to hide her teary eyes with a subtle smile, as if she must’ve really waited a long time to witness his new version, Emma patted his shoulder, exclaiming in a jovial tone, “Of course I had forgiven you long ago, Zeus! We are all friends now…so don’t bother to feel burdened by whatever happened between us in the past. It all starts with a new beginning from here onwards, right, Chris?” “Of course! We are all partners now, and if you ever dare to break our friendship, we all will gang up and break your bones, Zeus. That’s the motto of our group, do you understand?” Chris immediately wrapped his hands around Zeus’s broad shoul
Ethan’s POV:After I walked inside our department building, I quickly rushed up to the second floor and stood by the hallway railing to check if Zeus was accurately following my orders. I could still feel my cheeks flushed hot, as the memory of Zeus’s awestruck gaze locked on me since the moment I kissed him and walked out of the car was still very prominent in my memory. But judging his expression, Zeus looked quite enthusiastic about my deal, as he gave me a nod, agreeing to behave humanely, as I had asked him for the rest of the day. The first lecture of the day was already over, and students had started to leave their classrooms, forming crowds everywhere inside the building. Just as I had asked him, Zeus walked inside the building accurately after 10 minutes, leaving all the young maidens of our department enthralled by his dazzling aura. Even from where I stood, his spellbinding beauty and magnificent figure seemed no less than a supermodel, as I had already started to feel ir
