“Some nights change everything. The morning after reveals the price.”

---

Elena woke slowly.

At first, the world felt soft and unfamiliar.

The sheets beneath her were smoother than anything she had ever touched before, cool against her skin as she shifted slightly. The room was quiet—too quiet—and smelled faintly of expensive cologne mixed with the clean scent of fresh linen.

For a moment, she didn’t remember where she was.

Then the memories came rushing back.

Luca.

His voice.

His hands.

The way the world had seemed to disappear the moment he touched her.

Her cheeks warmed instantly.

She opened her eyes fully and stared up at the ceiling, replaying the night in her mind. Every whisper. Every look. Every dangerous moment that had pulled her deeper into his world.

Slowly, she turned her head.

The other side of the bed was empty.

Her heart sank slightly, though she didn’t know why she had expected anything different.

Men like Luca didn’t stay.

They didn’t linger in the morning light.

They left before the sun came up.

Elena pushed herself upright, pulling the blanket around her body as she looked around the large bedroom. The room was elegant, dark, and modern—black furniture, polished floors, tall windows overlooking the city.

Everything about the space felt powerful.

Controlled.

Just like him.

She slipped out of bed and walked slowly toward the window. The city below was already awake. Cars moved through the streets like flowing rivers of metal and light. People hurried along sidewalks, living their ordinary lives.

But inside this apartment, everything felt different.

Quiet.

Private.

Dangerous.

Elena wrapped her arms around herself.

Last night had felt like stepping into another universe—a universe ruled by Luca DeLuca.

And she wasn’t sure if she wanted to leave it.

Or if she even could.

---

A soft murmur of voices broke the silence.

Elena frowned.

She hadn’t noticed it at first, but now she could hear them clearly.

Male voices.

Low.

Serious.

They were coming from the living room.

Curiosity tugged at her.

She glanced around the bedroom until her eyes landed on a black shirt draped over a chair.

Luca’s shirt.

Without thinking too much about it, she slipped it on. The fabric was warm and smelled faintly like him. The sleeves hung past her hands, and the hem brushed against the top of her thighs.

Her heart fluttered.

It felt strangely intimate.

Carefully, she moved toward the slightly open bedroom door.

The voices grew clearer.

“…I’m telling you, she’s a liability.”

The unfamiliar voice was sharp and impatient.

Elena froze.

“Lower your voice,” Luca replied.

His tone was calm.

But cold.

Colder than she had ever heard it before.

“She left the club with you,” the man continued. “Half the city saw it.”

“So?” Luca asked.

“So?” the man repeated. “You know how this works. Your enemies watch everything. If they think she matters to you—”

“They won’t.”

Luca’s voice was firm.

Unshakable.

Elena’s stomach twisted.

“She means nothing?” the man asked.

There was a long pause.

Elena held her breath.

Finally Luca answered.

“She’s… temporary.”

The word hit her like ice water.

Temporary.

Her chest tightened painfully.

For a moment she wanted to storm into the living room and demand an explanation.

But something stopped her.

Instead, she stepped back slowly, her heart beating faster now.

Temporary.

That was what she was to him.

Just a moment.

A distraction.

A passing interest.

The bedroom door suddenly opened wider.

Elena looked up.

Luca stood there.

His dark eyes instantly found her.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

His gaze slowly moved over her body, taking in the oversized shirt she wore.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

“You’re awake,” he said.

Elena crossed her arms.

“I heard everything.”

The smile faded slightly.

Luca stepped inside and closed the door behind him.

“And?” he asked calmly.

“And?” Elena repeated, disbelief in her voice. “You told him I’m temporary.”

Luca watched her carefully.

“Did you expect something different?”

The bluntness of the question stunned her.

“I thought…” she started.

But the words died in her throat.

What had she thought?

That last night meant something?

That he cared?

Luca stepped closer.

“Listen to me, Elena,” he said quietly. “My world is not safe.”

His voice had softened slightly.

“People who get close to me… get hurt.”

She looked straight into his eyes.

“Then why bring me here?”

For a moment, Luca didn’t answer.

His jaw tightened slightly.

Then he reached up and brushed a strand of hair away from her face.

“Because I wanted you,” he said simply.

The honesty in his voice made her breath catch.

“That doesn’t make it better,” she whispered.

“No,” he admitted. “It doesn’t.”

Silence filled the room.

Heavy.

Complicated.

Then Luca’s hand moved to her waist.

“You should leave,” he said quietly.

But he didn’t move away.

In fact, he stepped closer.

Too close.

Elena could feel the warmth of his body again.

Her heart betrayed her immediately, racing the same way it had last night.

“You’re telling me to leave,” she said softly.

“Yes.”

“But you’re still touching me.”

Luca’s lips curved slightly.

“I’m not very good at letting go of things I want.”

The words sent a dangerous thrill through her.

His fingers tightened slightly against her waist.

“Elena,” he murmured, his voice dropping lower, “last night was a mistake.”

Her stomach twisted.

But then he leaned closer.

“And yet,” he whispered, “I’d make the same mistake again.”

Her breath caught.

Before she could respond, he kissed her.

The kiss was slower this time.

Deeper.

More dangerous.

Because now she knew exactly what she was getting into.

And she still didn’t stop.

---

A loud knock on the apartment door suddenly shattered the moment.

Luca pulled away instantly.

His expression hardened.

“Elena,” he said quietly, “stay here.”

But she had already seen the shift in his eyes.

The warmth was gone.

Now there was only the cold, controlled mafia boss again.

He opened the bedroom door and stepped out.

Elena waited a few seconds.

Then curiosity won again.

She crept toward the hallway.

The front door had opened.

Two men stood there.

One of them was the man from earlier.

The other was tall, muscular, and looked furious.

“Boss,” the second man said urgently.

Luca crossed his arms.

“What is it?”

“There’s a problem.”

Luca’s voice turned deadly calm.

“What kind of problem?”

The man hesitated.

Then he said something that made Elena’s blood run cold.

“Someone tried to kill you last night.”

Silence filled the apartment.

Luca didn’t move.

“Who?” he asked.

“We don’t know yet,” the man replied. “But whoever it was… they were watching the club.”

Elena’s heart started racing.

Watching the club.

Watching Luca.

Watching…

Her.

The man continued.

“And they saw you leave with the girl.”

Luca’s jaw tightened.

“That means she’s in danger too.”

Elena’s breath caught.

Before she could step away, the floorboard beneath her creaked.

All three men turned toward the hallway.

Luca’s eyes met hers instantly.

And for the first time since she met him…

She saw real fear in them.

  • Dangerous Cravings   Chapter Four: Surrendering to the Night

“I knew stepping closer would change everything, but I couldn’t stop myself.” Elena’s pulse was hammering the moment the apartment door closed behind her. The muffled city sounds outside—the distant sirens, honking cars, and neon-lit streets—felt impossibly far away, like another world entirely. Inside, everything was quiet, except the thrum of her heart in her ears. Shadows stretched across the room, softened by the glow of the city lights. Leather furniture, dark wood, and polished surfaces reflected just enough to make her feel exposed, like someone could watch every thought flicker across her mind. And then there was him. Luca DeLuca stood there, watching her. His eyes were dark, sharp, and impossibly magnetic. She had seen that gaze before, but tonight it was different—intense, private, focused solely on her. Every second of silence stretched taut, like a bowstring pulled tight, ready to snap. “You shouldn’t be here,” he murmured, low, velvety, and dangerous. “And why not?”

  • Dangerous Cravings   Chapter Three: Temptation in the Shadows

“Every step closer to him felt like stepping into fire—and I couldn’t turn away.” Elena hadn’t slept. Not really. Every time she closed her eyes, the memory of Luca’s hand brushing hers at the club, the intensity of his gaze, and the dangerous promise in his words replayed relentlessly. She sat on her bed, legs curled under her, staring at the ceiling as if it could somehow answer the question that was spinning in her mind: Why can’t I stop thinking about him? Her phone buzzed. A message from Maya: “I swear, girl, if he’s real… you’re screwed. Are you going back to that club?” Elena typed slowly, almost trembling: “I don’t know. Maybe. I… can’t stop thinking about him.” The reply was immediate: “You’re insane. But… also, kinda brave. Don’t get yourself killed.” Elena smiled faintly, though it didn’t ease the heat rising in her chest. Brave or insane, she knew she would see him again. There was no other choice. Not when the craving for Luca had already taken root inside her, a h

  • Dangerous Cravings   Chapter Two: Dangerous Proximity

“The closer I got to him, the more I risked losing myself.” Elena’s apartment felt unnaturally quiet after the chaos of the club. The city outside hummed, alive with distant traffic, neon lights painting the walls in fleeting, electric streaks. Yet inside her bedroom, her thoughts were louder than any siren or car horn. She sank onto her bed, pulling her knees close, her mind still replaying Luca DeLuca’s touch. Just one brush of his hand. One fleeting contact. And yet it had left her trembling, her body alive with a heat she hadn’t felt before. Every detail—the way he moved, the intensity of his eyes, the subtle curl of his lips—was burned into her memory like a brand she didn’t want removed. Her phone buzzed, and she jumped. Maya’s name flashed on the screen. “So… how was the club? You look like someone just saw a ghost in your own life.” Elena hesitated before typing. “It was… something.” “Something?” Maya replied instantly. “That’s vague. Was it the music, the drinks

One touch, and I was already lost. The city never slept. Neon lights painted the streets in electric blues and reds, reflecting off puddles from an afternoon rain that lingered like a secret no one wanted to forget. Elena Moretti pulled her leather jacket tighter around her shoulders and stepped onto the cracked sidewalk, the pulse of bass from the club down the street vibrating through her chest. She wasn’t supposed to be here—not tonight—but curiosity had a way of bending rules she thought she’d never break. The club’s entrance was crowded, the doorman scanning IDs with an air of boredom. Elena’s pulse quickened—not from the fear of being turned away, but anticipation. Something about tonight felt… different. Dangerous, yet irresistible. Inside, the music hit like a wave. The scent of perfume, alcohol, and expensive cologne wrapped around her, heavy and intoxicating. Strobe lights cut across the room, flickering over faces and bodies moving to the rhythm. She walked past the b
