Chapter 1: New Start

Walking down the street coming across an open house not knowing from this moment on, my life would change and meet the man I fell in love with today.

Faith's Pov:

I continued to walk finding a woman with a house sign for sale I paused glancing up at the beautiful home the girl trying to be quick as she kept looking at the time on her watch sweating in fear... "Hello," I called out getting her attention as she glanced up quickly blowing a deep sigh of relief.

"Are you selling," I asked she wiped her hands on her blazer

"Are you buying?" she replied in almost desperation like begging me to take the house off her hands.

I cock my head to the side noticing a bandage on her neck but don't question any further not wanting to step too far out of line.

"I was browsing a couple of places...are you shutting anytime soon," I said noticing her fidget looking across the road at what I didn't know willing myself to turn around there was no one there until she noticed that I caught on to her discomfort.

"Sorry I'm just not feeling too good today everyone else has left Chloe Saunders," She said smiling shaking my hand then continued "You new in town?" She questioned.

"Faith Jacobson is it that obvious..." I chuckled as she smiled.

"Well it's a pretty small town everyone knows everyone around here" she replied

"I have come across quite a few homes but nothing as elegant as this" I continued

"Would you like to have a look around the house?" She questioned

"If it wouldn't take up to much of your time," I said following her.

We both walked in her showing me the different rooms I looked out the window to get a good view of the front yard my eyes looking across the houses and come to rest on one so lifeless from the rest she comes and stands beside me looking at the house I'm staring at.

"You might want to stay away from that house the owner he is-" She paused

"A dick? An egotistical asshole?" I asked she smiles a small chuckle leaving her lips

"He's...odd and deadly no one really sees him throughout the day he's a nightwalker he has a scar across his face no one knows how he got it though" She replied shivering at the house, I was quite intrigued 'Nightwalker...'

"What does nightwalker mean?" I asked she glanced down at her watch ignoring my question completely

"It's getting late Faith I'm sorry" I look down at my phone 'It was 4:30 pm what is she so worried about I thought.

Walking me out of the house I felt empty I look back at it the words flowing out of my mouth before I could even stop them "I'll take it" I said.

She glanced at me in worry or was I just imagining things, I asked "I know I'd probably have to" I start knowing about having to sign papers she handed me the keys.

"Give me everything in two days enjoy your house..." She said in a pained voice

I was really confused why was everyone acting weird today first the grocery woman yelled out 'The devil is upon us and now this hopefully it gets better before I start my job I thought when my eyes find themselves glancing at the house across the road and to where the curtain swayed did I just see...I shake my head the thoughts leaving my head.

The next morning I come back with the movers listening to my music and singing out loud while holding boxes, The movers seemed to grin I knew I had a good voice I just wasn't the type to get on stage and sing when the heavy furniture was in I start moving everything around, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, I opened the curtains sighing picking up my cell and calling the Mowing King company booking a front and back clean up I grab my coffee walking out on the front patio "Yes, Hi this is Faith" I began.

Alessandro's Pov:

I watched the little human from across the road as she sang her melodies her voice as sweet as a harp my little mate, hiding behind this curtain making sure the sun doesn't scorch my skin made me feel like a monster, I look at her in awe that's until I noticed a human walking over to her which made me let out a snarl.

Faith's Pov:

An hour later the gardeners grabbed their tools and headed to the back, I skull some water coming face to face with a...handsome...face, I blushed as I wiped the water from my lip where it dripped.

"Sorry I'm Faith the new neighbor," I said

He gave me a charming smile "Dimitri...you live next door to me it seems" He replied winking I couldn't help but blush and smile.

"Well, Dimitri..." I said then continued "It's nice to meet you, so what do you do for fun around here?" I questioned outright, he raised a perfect eyebrow liking my straightforwardness.

"Well, why don't I pick you up tonight at seven there's a group of people that would love to meet you you're the talk of the town" I smiled raising an eyebrow myself

"Talk of the town, You sure that's okay I don't want to be a burden and intrude," I said.

He smiled down at me his hand resting on my shoulder "I am sure you won't be a burden and you won't intrude" he replied.

"See you then Faith" he grinned as he walked off.

Alessandro's Pov:

While I watched my little mate laugh I couldn't help but envy how she was laughing with Dimitri that puny human I hadn't even realized I had crushed my brandy glass filled with blood looking at him as he placed his filthy hand upon my mate when they said their goodbyes she smiled watching his back a blush still hovering over her cheeks, then I turned to where Dimitri was I grinned evilly

"Her next-door neighbor..." I said out loud.
