PROLOGUE: DATING THE VILLAIN

Clarissa Angela Sophia, or just Sophia, is a hopeless romantic.

Even though she only has one goal in life, and that is to be successful enough to support her home orphanage, she has always loved reading. Romance just happened to be the genre she has grown to love until today. Reading and experiencing love through the books she has read helped her escape reality. She has been an orphan her whole life and was only adopted in her teens, but, sadly, even her foster parent—a lovely old woman—died too early as she left her all alone again. It was reading that helped her escape her harsh reality, and even without noticing it, it has set her standard a little bit higher than she thought she could ever have.

Yes, she is a hopeless romantic who is a virgin in all aspects. A hopeless romantic who has never experienced any kind of romantic relationship with anyone in real life. Yet here she is with her set of standards that can only be reached if you are Prince Charming.

Prince Charming—a man who will sweep her off her feet and will bring her to her happily ever after. She is already in her twenties and she still naively believes that someone like that exists in real life. But, in all honesty, she is not necessarily looking forward to a fairytale kind of romance. Yes, her standards are for Prince Charming alone, but she just honestly wants to meet a good person that will hopefully, truly, experience the best romance life has to offer with her.

With all that said, she wants it to happen when she is finally done with everything she has to do. She is already in her last year of college and just a little more, she can finally work and reach her dream of supporting everyone she loves. There is nothing that could go wrong…

Until the Universe decided that it has a whole new, different course of plans just for her.

The romance in her life was only supposed to be the second thing on her list. She still has so much to do before she can even cross out her number one priority—but the Universe said screw her list because she was suddenly given everything, and she meant everything, she did not ask for… yet.

This is not supposed to happen now or nowhen near now. Everything is out of schedule and totally out of her list of priorities. This is not how she pictured her romance to be. This is pure chaos! If this was a novel book, this is one of the biggest plot twists that has ever been written just to mess up her whole life!

The romance that she has been dreaming about, all the chaos in the order of things on her list, everything... and she actually thought that it was all that there is to it.

A big no was plastered on her forehead for the answer to her expectations. No, she was not only given the romance she always dreamt about with Prince Charming or just any good person. She was offered love by and with someone who did not only fit the impossible standards she has but was the complete opposite of what she had in mind. The Universe not only drained her expectations down the drain but reminded her how expectations are nothing to what reality holds.

She was given a shot at what love and romance can be with a villain.

A villain who offered her the contract she cannot reject. The very person who is sleeping soundly against her chest. The man named Navier.

When novels and stories established that bad guys can fool you for their angelic looks and irresistible charms, they were not kidding about it at all.

Now, dating the villain does not seem so bad... or does it?
