Maybelline Walter POV

My day was boring as I've been alone at home. Miles got a call from the company and he was yet to come back after he left in the morning.

It was a beautiful evening and I had just finished having a cold shower when I came back into my room and found my phone ringing.

"Who is it?" I mumbled as I walked over to the bed where I left the phone earlier, and I checked to see the caller was my sweetheart, Lily.

"Hey, darling," I slumped on the bed excitedly.

"I've been calling you all day but you never answered any of my calls," I whined.

"I'm sorry. I had to rush to the hospital after Mr. Miguel dropped me off earlier. There was an emergency at the hospital,"

"Oh... Hope it's settled now?" I asked her.

"Not really. The patient needed surgery, but the surgeon was not around, so she was transferred to another hospital," She replied to me, and I nodded.

"How is your husband?" She asked and snickered.

"We are just contracted couples..."
