Sunset

“Ugh.” Ashley groaned as she tossed around her bed.

She has been in the room for hours and she was starting to get tired of it.

“I am so bored.” She groaned and sat up on her bed.

“Hey.” She called and one of the maids in her room turned to her.

“Why the hell am I still trapped in this room?” She asked.

“I have no idea, ma’am.” She replied and bowed.

“Is this part of the review?” Ashley muttered and sighed, she shook her head and fell back on the bed.

*********

Ashley paced around her room and stared at the furniture, that was how bored she was and she was getting frustrated. It's evening already and the maids left her an hour ago, she tried going out countless times but the guards keeps defying her of access.

The door to her room suddenly opened and the guard walked in.

“You are free to go ma’am.” He said and he walked out. She scoffed and rolled her eyes.

“Free to go? Really? I am not a prisoner.” She mumbled angrily and stormed out of the room, she rushed down the stairs and saw Hayden going through his phone and he is dressed in a black tuxedo.

“Hayden.” She called angrily and he turned to her.

“Why have I been locked in my room for over six hours?” She yelled and he ignored her and continued scrolling through his phone.

“I am talking to you, answer me!” She yelled and he sighed.

“I had important things to do and I don't want you interrupting.”

“So? Was that why you locked me up and put a guard in front of my door like I am so prisoner?” She yelled.

“Stop making a big deal out of it.” He replied and head towards the stairs.

She stared at him in shock and tried talking but she was too shocked to say anything.

“Oh.” He muttered and turned to her.

“Bryan told me to tell you these, they are the new rules. You must not go out of the house once it is 6:00 pm.”

“Why?”

“Ask Bryan.” He replied and walked upstairs.

“Such an arrogant jerk.” She muttered and rolled her eyes, she walked out of the house and sighed as the cool breeze welcomed her.

She sat at the entrance and thought about her life, she knew she had always lived a boring life, she has always been lonely in high school and also in college. She never really had anyone to talk to, not that she couldn't make friends but she just doesn't feel the need. All she always wanted was just to sit alone and believe everything will come her way.

But out of nowhere, she has the opportunity to do things with a person, and out of everyone in the world, it had to be an arrogant jerk.

She sniffed and wiped the tear that rolled down her eye, she doesn't know why it hurt so much but it does.

“Aren't we going to stare at the sunset?” She heard a voice and she turned to see Hayden still dressed in a tuxedo.

She sniffed and wiped her tears and stood up, he stared at her as she rubbed her eyes.

“I thought you had better things to do.”

“Yeah, but I could stare at the sunset with a crybaby.”

“I am not a crybaby.”

“Yes you are, can we get going? You want to stare at it from the roof right?”

“You don't have to worry, I can do it with butler Lucas.” She said and he rolled his eyes.

“No, you won't, let's go.”

“I don't want to Hayden.” She muttered and tried to walk inside the house but he stood in front of her.

“Let’s go.” He said and held her hand, he pulled her in and they took the stairs that lead to the roof, they got there and he sat down.

“Sit Ashley.” He ordered and she slowly sat beside him.

They both stared at the sky and Ashley sighed, he turned to her and gave her a questioning look.

“Why are you still dressed in a tuxedo?” She asked.

“Because I feel like.”

“Why do you dress in it in the first place and also where have you been going? Aren't we doing a review together? We are supposed to be together all the time.”

“Well, I also run my company and I also work for Empire.”

“I thought you said it was all a fantasy?”

“Yeah, about that. Forget I let out anything about that.”

“I never believed it before.” She chuckled and he nodded, he turned the sky and sighed.

“What is so special about the sunset?” Hayden asked and she smiled.

“I don't know, I just feel alive staring at it.”

“Okay.” He replied and she giggled.

“Oh, I wanted to ask. Can I go and see my father once in a while? My mother is very ill, that is part of the reason why I took this job.”

“Well, you can see your father anytime you want but you must always be home before 6:00 pm.”

“Sure but do you think Bryan will approve of it?”

“Of course, he will.” Hayden replied and she smiled.

“Thank you.” She said and he nodded.

She sighed and slowly placed her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

“Get your head off my shoulder.” He said and she raised her head and turned to him surprised.

“What?” He asked.

“What kind of a guy tells a girl to not lean on his shoulder?”

“This guy, now, let's not make this weird.”

“You are weird.” Ashley said and he shrugged.

Ashley scoffed and folded her arms, she frowned as she stared at the sunset.

“What kind of guy complains about a girl leaning on him?” She mumbled and Hayden rolled his eyes.

“You don't have to be dramatic about it,” Hayden said and she scoffed.

“I am not being dramatic.” She snapped and Hayden sighed, he slowly raised his hand to her head and placed her head on his shoulder.

“I am not interested again.” She said and stood up then walked into the house.
