Seven

I stood there shocked, my feet fixed to the ground as I watched the horrific sight in front of me, my dad and my sister rushed out of the house to where my mom and my aunt was, pushing me in the process, which jolted me out of my shock.

"Mom! What happened?!" Aya shouted, and took over from the guard, holding her shoulders. "What the hell happened?!!"

My dad just stood there, he looked more raged than shocked, I watched him clench his fists tightly. His eyes were red, the colour of an Alpha's, his claws were out and I could feel the extreme anger seep out of him.

I could understand his anger. His thoughts that the ripper already got scared off because of the news of my engagement to the Rover Pack, has just been rubbed in the mud.

It took my mom hours to heal despite her status as the Luna of the pack, which means that the wounds were very brutal and she almost died, just like Aunt Erica.

"Send a message to the rest of the pack members. Tell them my sister is dead, and her funeral will be held in three days." My dad said to one of the guards, "You can go." The guard nodded and left the house.

We were all seated in the living room, my mom, my dad and my sister, my mom was fully healed now and my dad asked us to gather.

"Mom, are you sure you shouldn't be laying on the bed?" Aya asked with concern.

"I'm fine. I can't be laying in bed when we have bigger fishes to fry." My mom replied.

"But seriously, what happened?? How did you and Aunt Erica end up like that?" Aya asked, her voice was lower when she mentioned our aunt's name.

Mom released a heavy sigh and began, "We were returning from the bridal shop together and we suddenly heard the growl, we ignored it at first because it could be any werewolf growling in Willow Heights, until a big white wolf suddenly ran into the road, Erica did not see it on time so our car lost control and we hit the wolf, making the car to dash into the woods." My mom paused for a bit before she continued, "Erica and I were still trying to get out of the car when we heard the shuffling around and there it was right in front of us, the lycan wolf in his wolf form. He dragged us out of the car and attacked us, he attacked Erica first and intentionally spared my life to send a message to our pack."

"A message?? What message??" My dad spoke for the first time since she started her narration.

My mom glanced around at all of us and carefully said, "Before he left he turned to his human form. He is going to attack again, and this time it will be on the whole pack, including our Alpha."

We all turned to look at my dad immediately my mom dropped that statement. 

He clenched his fists tightly, his claws which were already out, digging deeply into the arms of the couch. He stood up and threw the coffee table over, making it fly over to the other side of the living room, shattering it into pieces.

The three of us gasped loudly in surprise and cowered in our positions. 

He started picking the couch pillows and throwing them at the windows, one after the other, by the time he exhausted all the couch pillows, all the windows in the first floor of our house were already shattered in pieces.

My dad still had not changed a bit, he was still the same, becoming very violent whenever he was angry. But this time, I have to admit that his anger was justifiable.

The next thing we registered was my dad hopping up the staircase and then a loud slam of the door to his bedroom.

"Oh my god!" Aya exhaled dramatically, placing her hand on her chest. "I thought I was going to die of heart attack. That was scary as hell."

"I haven't seen Caeser lose his composure like that, in so long." My mom said sadly. 

At this point, it was safe to say the ripper was my father's greatest weakness, all the times I have seen my father lose his shit was because of the ripper.

My parents went for a meeting, I can't recall what the meeting is about, and Aya has been gone for two days for a friend's birthday, so I was the only one home, not without the prying eyes of the pack guards though. But the guards were not as strict as my family, that is why I'm able to be browsing through the town's library shelves, looking for books to read.

I need to clear my head before I finally lose it and reading was the only way I knew how to release pent up emotions.

"Tiana?" 

A voice called out and instinctively I looked in the direction of the voice to see a blonde haired girl of the similar age with me, looking at me with a surprised expression on her face.

My brows knit together in confusion for a moment before I finally put the pieces together, recognizing who she was.

"Gemma?" 

Her face lit up and her round cheeks rose up in happiness, "Yes! Oh my god, Tiana, it's really you!" She said excitedly and pulled me into her for a hug.

I chuckled awkwardly and returned the hug. 

Gemma Matthews was my best friend in high school and we were inseparable until life got in the way and I left town. We used to keep in touch when I first arrived at Boston but our communication became less and less until it eventually became non existent. 

"I heard that you came back for Camilla's funeral, may her soul rest in peace." Gemma said sadly.

I nodded gently and gave her a thankful smile.

"I just returned from my vacation in Greece, that's why I haven't been to the pack meetings." Gemma said cheerfully.

She was still the same, bubbly and always full of life---

"Wait what? What pack meetings?" I asked immediately my brain processed her last statement.

Gemma arched a brow at me wryly, "I'm sure you're wondering why I've been missing in the pack meetings..."

"What pack are you talking about?" I was now as confused as ever.

"Moonlight Pack? Aya didn't tell you I joined your pack??" 

"What?? No, she didn't! That's really amazing, Gem!" I said delightedly, my nickname for her coming out of my lips out of excitement.

Gemma grinned at me, "I know right." 

It felt really good to see her, I felt the heaviness in my heart deplete with her sudden reappearance in my life.

She checked her wrist and gasped softly, "Oh dear! I'm late for my appointment! Here is my business card, text me with your number. We need to catch up on all these years." She said hurriedly while handing me a card. 

She was almost out of the door when she stopped, smiled warmly at me and said, "It is really good to see you again, Tiana." 

"Same here, Gem." I replied softly and she left.

When I was done selecting the books I wanted to borrow, I checked them in with the librarian and stepped out of the library.

Immediately I stepped out, a very familiar scent hit my nostrils, and I had to look around because I was curious about where the familiar scent was coming from.

My brows shot up when my gaze landed on Alex's 6'1 figure leaning against the wall with a cigarette between his fingers, just outside the library.

"What do you want??" I questioned with hostility in my voice.

"Ouch. Hello to you too." Alex said and pushed himself from the wall, put out the cigarette fire in the ashtray beside him, and started walking closer to me.
