inquisitive little girls

Blair's POV

We moved slowly to a table in the middle of the wall at the end of the hall, those we passed all bowed their heads. I noticed that after we had gone by most of them raised their noses and smelled the air. Realizing everyone we walked past, already knew what we had done upstairs was embarrassing. I was blushing deeply by the time we reached out table.

The conversation at our table was pleasant. I was seated with Ava, Alexa, and several other girls and ladies were sitting with me alongside the long table.

The dinner was terrific. All manner of food, chicken, vegetable, pasta, salads. Literally everything one could ever wish for was available, and I consumed them delightedly. Aiden was busy talking to some other people on the other side of the room, so I was presently on my own.

Except for the fact that I was being interrogated by curious girls. The one sitting opposite me was barely 18, and she was staring at me with awe. As if I was a celebrity.

I smiled at her politely. She blushed. "Luna, I heard you're an urban wolf. I heard you're from London. What kind of place is it?" She asked.

I could sense Aiden glancing at me. I'm sure he could hear us..

"Damp, and very Cold, if you mean the weather. Otherwise, it is a great place. Very beautiful with old architecture." I smiled.

"Wow!" Have you met the queen of England?" Her eyes widened.

I nearly choked on my drink .

"No, the queen is not easy to access, I'm Afraid. But I did see the royal wedding." I winked at her.

The girl nearly fell from her chair. "Wow! It was lovely isn't it?" She asked.

"I don't know, but I wasn't invited." I giggled, and she giggled alongside me.

"For how long have you lived there? And are there other wolves there?" A brunette asked. By now, the entire table was looking at me curiously. I guessed they all wanted to know about their Luna.

"Well, I left my pack when I was very young. I was staying with my aunt then."

"Why?" The girl asked.

"Sometime ago, we were attacked by rogues. I had to leave the pack. It was very deadly, and I lost my parents to the attack." I explained.

"Ohhh" I could hear all of them gasp. I could see the sudden look of sympathy in their eyes.

I stole a glance at Aiden, the hint of smile on his face indicated that he was pleased.

"Were you alone? Did you live there all by yourself? They're no wolves there right?" Alexa asked.

"My aunt lives there. She owns an estate, so I could shift, and let my wolf run around. They're few wolves in England, but it's mostly populated with vampires .

"You've met a vampire?" The girl gasped.

"Few times though. They don't really like us?"

"Luna? Have you traveled everywhere?" Another girl asked. I was enjoying this, no one had ever asked me about my adventures, not that I had any.

"Depends. I have traveled to Asia and parts of Europe."

"What about America. Are they wolves there?"

"No, only shape shifting cats, and they're very strict concerning their territories. They hate us as well."

The girls giggled again. I could see a look of respect in their eyes when I explained my qualifications, my job. They were nice girls.

The conversation was not one sided, I learnt a few things about the jade moon pack as well.

Historically, the Alpha's of this pack were not known for being merciful, Aiden was not an exception. The pack location was midway between the businesses held in town, and a cemetery. It was convenient for all involved. They had a huge acre of land, most of it were forest, so it allowed plenty of room for the wolves to run around. Everyone had a job, either In the city or at home , and some had businesses, including Aiden.

Sexual activities varied in different packs, depending on the alphas. Some packs were hypocrites. They allowed their males to screw around, but put restrictions on females. Sex was far from a taboo with this pack. The reason they lived was to fuck , was the impression I got. No one cared who was fucking about with whom, until they find their mates. Mates never cheat, they just couldn't because the partner would definitely know, and it would hurt them. That hurt would be felt by the one who cheated as well, so it just didn't happen. They were rare exceptions, but generally mates stay loyal to each other.

Same sex relationships were not looked down on here.

"Alpha Aiden accepts gay wolves." Alexa giggled. " He has welcomed in several gay outcasts from their packs that had been put out, for being gay."

I smiled; I was glad we agreed on that. At least Aiden wasn't picky like the other Alphas.

Aiden's POV

I watched and beamed with pride as I heard Blair talk about her life. I could not help but listen to her. She was fun to be with, and when she laughed, it was everything.

The youngsters seemed to like her as well. Generally, most lunas came to be extremely sheltered. Trained to be soft and fragile. But Blair was different, agreed she had more human tendencies, and sentiments than her wolf, probably because she had kept her wolf under control most of her life.

It was something I liked , and I was falling in love with her the more.

"So Luna, why did you leave your pack?" Alexa asked.

There she goes again. Alexa was playing with fire, and I had to stop her....

I strode towards Blair, to stand by her. I know she could feel my presence, because her breathing calmed.

"I lost my parents in the rogue attack. I was just nine, and couldn't bear the trauma of my parent's passing. I had to leave with my aunt Millicent. She's a keeper, and that was how I went to live with her." I heard Blair explain.

I knew her history a bit. It was very devastating for many, including me.

I suddenly felt a Surge of sympathy for her.

"How unfortunate, but why didn't you return back? I mean, why did you stay back?" Ava asked.

Even I was tempted to ask.

"My brother wanted to call me back after the attack, but aunt Millicent grew very fond of me. She couldn't seem to let me go." Blair explained with a smile.

"I just continued to live with her, and I guess she liked it that way." She added.

Something was missing. Antonio and I wasn't in talking terms, but I respected his position as an Alpha. He wouldn't leave his sister alone unless there was a reason. I needed to find out why.

"That's very unfortunate. If you had stayed back, perhaps you'd have met Alpha Aiden earlier." One of the girls commented.

I could not help but keep smiling, the kids were right. Had it been I met her earlier, it wouldn't have taken me such a long time to find her. I glanced at my watch, and realized it was time to close the party. But before I could interrupt, Alexa had asked another annoying question.

"If you don't mind, may I ask how your father die?"

I growled angrily and snapped at her. She got the memo, and bowed. But it was too late already. Blair was angry. I could tell. Her breathing had become short. I placed my hand in her shoulder, and gave her a gentle squeeze.

"I don't remember much; I was picking firewood in the woods with my mum before the attack. Somehow, I was able to run with the wood , and hid in a thick lush of bushes. I can recall everything." Blair narrated, while I looked on in shock.

The little girl was Blair! We've met before! But I'm sure she wouldn't remember me again. I remember hiding in the same lush of bushes as her, consoling her. That little girl was all grown up, and now she's my mate.
