The hidden truth

"I see what you did there Aiden." Blair laughed.

"Well, what more could I say?" He shrugged.

I laughed, " just go back to bed, you need the sleep more than I do. Meanwhile, I'll be here, thinking about all your bitter exes."

"Ermmm I don't have many exes you know? After Camille, I didn't enter any other relationship.

"Pheeeeew!" I heaved a sigh of relief.

"Go back to sleep now." I placed my hand on his chest, and pushed him towards his bedroom. He was so heavy, and it was like I was pushing a bag of rocks.

He laughed, grabbed my wrists, and pulled me towards him. As a result, I tripped and fell, colliding with his chest.

My breath almost seized as soon as I came in contact with his blue eyes. It was at that point that I realized that he was half naked, and I was just in a silky robe.

"You look enticing in that robe shawty." He whispered into my ears.

"I won't fall for your tricks." I said, raising my brows.

It was meant to sound serious, but somehow it didn't come out that way.

He gave me a mischievous smile.

"If only you will let me, I could show you more of my tricks." He said erotically.

"I'm sure you would." I said, rolling my eyes.

"You still need to rest." I insisted, trying to release my self from his grip.

Ofcourse, he couldn't let that happen. He held my hand tightly, and with his other hand, freed my hair from the slick ponytail which I had bound them in.

He gasped when my hair fell over my shoulders, in soft smooth waves. He wrapped his hands in the luxurious bounty of my hair, and pulled me close for a scorching hot kiss.

My lips parted immediately to welcome his tongue, inviting him to taste and be tasted. My hands moved on their own and rolled on his hard chest. He shivered when my fingers rubbed over his nipples, he growled against my lips.

A sudden chill on my breasts made me realize that he had managed to part my robe, and was gently caressing my boobs. He kept teasing and pressing my nipples, sending currents of pleasure down my spine. My nails bit into his back, pulling him closer.

I had no idea how long we had been making out, curses dropped like anchors from his lips when a knock sounded at the door.

"Everyone has been patiently waiting for you, alpha." Damon announced with a mischievous smile on his face as the door swung open. I nearly died of embarrassment, and pulled my robe together.

Aiden helped me to my feet from the carpet floor where we had been lying on.

"I need to leave now?" Aiden asked, frowning at Damon.

"Wait, are you going somewhere?" I asked, surprised.

"Yes darling. There's an alpha meeting I need to attend. I think Antonio would be in attendance too." He responded casually while walking towards the bathroom.

I gave Damon a polite smile, trying not to overthink about what he must have seen.

" He couldn't have enough sleep." I said, trying to strike a conversation.

"That's normal. The Alpha always puts his pack's needs first. He does everything in his power to see that everyone is happy and well provided for, so it's understandable when he barely has enough time for himself. Now that you're here, we're hoping that you both can share the responsibilities, and ease his burden. Being lonely was not easy for him." Damon explained, while I tried to wallop myself out of grief. I was anything but a good mate.

I didn't deserve to be Aiden's mate. My wolf moaned in sorrow.

Finally, Aiden was gone, and I was left alone. I picked up my phone and dialled Olivia's number .

"Oh my God Blair! How are you? I've been so worried." Olivia said from the other side when I called her.

"I am fine Olivia, Aiden can never harm me."

"Finally! I am glad to know you now trust the mate bond." She screamed excitedly. "So..... have you told him yet?"

I sighed deeply; I have been postponing the day I'd have to talk to Aiden about it, but I didn't get the chance."

"I couldn't bring myself to." I replied.

Olivia sighed.

"Why? How can you keep something as vital as that from your mate? What are you afraid of?"

"Aiden is dangerous, and I am just scared he might hurt Mark. You see how he came to fetch me from our pack right?"

"I don't care about Mark. So how are your plans for rejecting the mate bond going?" She taunted.

"Not going fine, I won't lie." I chuckled, recalling the kiss we had shared earlier.

"Have you guys you know, had sex?"

"Fucking no! I have been able to hold him off for this long."

I could hear Olivia laugh.

"I am surprised he hasn't raped you yet. You'll not be able hold him long enough, Blair. Instead of keeping his hopes up, tell him the truth." She advised.

"You're making me feel bad Olivia. I am already dying of guilt." I mumbled.

"Everything would be fine, Blair. Just let him know everything." Olivia added

I felt energized after talking to Olivia. I called Mark immediately after.

"I've missed you so much baby. When are you coming back? Plus I need to introduce you to my parents." Mark said.

I caught a lock of my hair and twirled it between my fingers.

"Very soon, hopefully." I mumbled.

"Hopefully? What do you mean by that? Don't tell me you've grown fond of living in the middle of nowhere, that you've decided to abandon me in London." He laughed loudly.

I gave a nervous laugh.

"That's not the case right now, I have something very important I want to discuss with you."

"You can tell me now right? Is anything the problem?"

I bit my lip rather too hard. I could not explain the entire situation on phone. What if he freaks out?

"I can't do that now darling, but I promise we'll talk about it once I'm back." I assured him.

"If you insist. I miss you babe, and always remember that I love you so much." He spoke.

"Awwww I miss you too, and I love you too." I said quietly. A familiar scent entered the room, and I immediately turned around to find out who.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, putting the phone under the pillow. My body was shaking from fear.

"I....I... master asked me to come discuss the pack's barbecue ceremony with you." Alexa stuttered. All I could see in her face was disappointment, and irritation.

She didn't have to say anything, I knew she heard everything.
